Unraveling the Copic Code

Hi all!

My Craftsy post today focuses on the Copic numbering system.

Markers

You’ll find a simple breakdown of the letters and numbers, as well as how to find natural blending groups.

I hope it’s helpful.  🙂

just dropping you a line

Hi everyone!

It’s another Bellarific Friday with Stamping Bella! This week’s challenge was a sketch. I used Ramona Fishing. I ♥♥♥ the heart at the end of the line. 🙂

Dropping-You-a-Line

She was stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card, colored with Copics then die-cut with the hat poof and fishing line cut to extend outside of the circle.

Beneath the sentiment, I snipped and lowered the fishing line to give the illusion of a longer string.

Next week’s challenge is a One Layer Wonder.  Love it.  🙂  If you’d like to play along, use a current Stamping Bella image, link your card on the Bella Blog by next Thursday and you’ll be entered to win some Bella Bucks!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Watercolor with Copics, a tutorial

Hi all.  🙂

Today I have sweet Flower Maiden 2 by A Day for Daisies “watercolored” using Copics.

WC-Final2

The watercolor look is easy to achieve with Copics and Colorless Blender.  You can use the markers themselves scribbled onto a palette or acetate, or you can use Copic refills, otherwise known as Various Ink. I prefer to use Various Ink.

You can find a complete step-by-step tutorial on the Craftsy blog HERE.  I hope you’ll check it out. 🙂

Celebrate

Hi everyone! Today I have a “springy” card to share using Paper SmoochesFile Folder Dies along with pretty, loopy butterflies from Flap Happy.

Celebrate-File-2

The sentiment is from Birthday Bash, this month’s TAM or “Thanks a Million” set which is free with any $60 retail order through the end of May.

I stamped my favorite butterfly from Flap Happy twice onto patterned paper, cut out each then adhered over coordinating die-cut butterflies (Butterflies 1 dies). The butterflies are adhered to the die-cuts in the center with small pieces of clear foam squares beneath each wing for added dimension.  A cuff holds the card closed.

Celebrate-File-2-CU2

With the cuff in place, I adhered the butterflies (only to the cuff) then adhered the pearl flourish pieces.

Celebrate-File-2-CU

I nipped the larger flourish at the cuff line so the cuff slides up and off without disturbing the line of pearls.  The cuff can be easily replaced, retaining the pearl flourish shape.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

#cantwaittoseeyou

Hi everyone! I have another Stamping Bella card to share today. 🙂

I love this image. Her shopping bag looks just like mine.  Not the bag itself, but what’s inside.  Looks a perfect date to me!

This is Tiffany Loves to Text. The image also comes with two additional text sentiments. So cute.

Cant-Wait-to-See-You2

As always, she was stamped onto bright white X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copics. Clean and “simple.”

Father’s Day Gift Card Idea

Hi everyone! I have a super easy Father’s Day gift card holder to share using newly released Daddy Yo by Paper Smooches.

Happy-Fathers-Day-Shirt

I cut a block of blue card stock to about 2 3/4″ wide by 3 1/4″ tall.  I stamped the square pattern from Borderlicious, cut the block down the middle, then folded down the inside corners to create a collar (each side tacked down with clear foam squares). I adhered the shirt halves to a piece of copy paper cut just smaller than the assembled shirt, then used 1/8″ double-sided adhesive along the left, right and bottom sides to adhere to the card. I stamped and cut out the tie and added a tiny rhinestone as a tie tack. Super easy.

Tip:  Buy the gift card before creating the shirt so you can choose coordinating colors! 🙂

(Saturated Canary) hugs

Hi all.  I had a bit of extra time last night so I decided to color another image by Saturated Canary.  This is Let it Rain. (I love her hair.)

hugs

I printed her onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copics.  The sentiment is from Scripty Sayings by Paper Smooches.  I love the font style with Saturated Canary images. I think it’s a perfect match.

In my stash of embellishments, I found some raindrop-ish dots and decided to add a few. They weren’t in any packaging so I’m not sure who makes/made them.

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of your weekend! (I’m hoping to do a bit of planting!)  🙂

Celebrate and Enjoy Your Day

Hi all!  Just stopping by quickly to share a card using another of Paper Smooches‘ latest releases.  🙂

I’ve used Feathers 2 Dies along with a sentiment from Birthday Bash (which you can get for free with any order of $60 or more through the end of May).

Celebrate-Feathers-600

After die-cutting the feathers, I outlined each with the gold end of a Zip Painty Pen. I sprinkled a few gold sequins and stamped the sentiment in dark brown ink.

Thanks for stopping by! I’ll be back soon.  🙂

If Friends Were Flowers (and a new team!)

Hi everyone! TGIF!

It’s Stamping Bella‘s Bellarific Friday and I’m playing along today, as well as future Fridays, because I’ve joined the design team! If you frequently visit my blog, you know I’ve been a big, big fan for quite some time. Stamping Bella images are among my most heartfelt favorites (and Emily is very sweet…and soooo entertaining.  hee, hee. ♥♥♥)  Anyway, I’m super excited.

This week’s challenge was a gorgeous inspiration photo, seen here on the Bella Blog. I chose to use the color palette…although I went a little crazy with my shading so my color palette isn’t as soft as the colors used in the photo.

This week, along with the inspiration photo, the team is using Lulu Loves Poppies, available for 20% off through the end of May. Isn’t she pretty?

Lulu-Poppies-MAB

She was stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers. The sentiment is from Uptown Girl Pippa Loves to Plant.

You can find all details for next week’s challenge on the Bella Blog.  (It’s a sketch!)
