Father’s Day x 2 (paper smooches)

Hello everyone! It’s time to get cranking on Father’s Day cards. I have two fun samples below using product from Paper Smooches latest release.

New Dress Shirt Dies are great for creating a super quick masculine card. I used Simple Stripes patterned paper from Queen & Company to mimic a pinstripe dress shirt. And how about those tiny pens? So cute.

I used DAD from new Dude Dies and You’re the Best from Dude Sampler.  To add a bit of dimension, I placed foam squares beneath the pocket and each front corner of the collar.

Next, I created a collage of Father’s Day appropriate words and phrases using Dude Sampler and Daddy Yo 2.

My MISTI is immensely helpful in aligning and ensuring solidly stamped impressions. That tool has been a real game changer for me.

Straight Up Floral with a Fairy on Top

Hello everyone! This week the Stamping Bella team is using images from the Florals category.  There are several, all lovely. (You may recall that Daisy Floral Set from this same category is 25% off through May 31st.)

Stamping Bella Little Bits Fairy and Straight Up Floral set

I chose to use Straight Up Floral with a Little Bits Fairy and Dragon Sentiment.

I first stamped the fairy onto X-Press It Blending Card, masked her with a Post It Note then stamped the flowers, first the one on the right, then the center, then the left. I colored with Copic markers then added the white embossed sentiment.

Shaker Garden of Baby Peonies

Hello everyone! Today I have a fun card to share combining a cute Stamping Bella image with the fun of Queen & Company‘s shaker elements.

Stamping Bella Peony Baby in a Pot

I used super-sweet Baby Peony in a Pot (and coordinating die) with a sentiment from Mail Chick. After stamping onto X-Press It Blending Card and coloring with Copic markers, I die-cut each image then layered atop the shaker.

Stamping Bella Peony Baby in a Pot (close-up)

Copic markers – E000, E00, E04, E07, E08, E09, E11, E21, G21, G24, G28, R20, RV66, V01, V12

Unfortunately, the foam shaker kit, Lines, is not currently available. But inside, I placed Rubble (shaker topping), then used Simple Stripes paper over top. I cut a small slit in each pot to insert the sliver of black card stock (as a sign stick), assembled the signs and inserted each pot behind the stripes. To add a bit of dimension, the sentiment strips were each adhered using Kool Tak clear foam squares.

Thanks for stopping by today!

I used new Sportsball stamp set with Sportsball Icons dies, perfect for any sports fanatics you may know! It was heartbreaking.  But…there’s always next year!)

Paper Smooches Sportsball and Sportsball Icons dies (close-up)

I used the hockey stick die to die-cut two black sticks, flipping one over so I’d have one facing each direction. I added thin strips of red, white and blue to the top and white to the bottom to mimic tape. I’m saving this card for my husband’s birthday. I think he’ll like it.  🙂

Stamping Bella’s May Stamp of the Month

Today the Stamping Bella team is featuring the May Stamp of the Month, Daisy Floral Set. I adore this little fairy hanging onto the stem. So cute.  🙂   Daisy Floral Set and the coordinating set of dies are 25% off through May 31st.Stamping Bella Daisy Flower Set All images were stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers. To extend the length of the die-cut flower stem, I simply stamped the bottom portion of the stem a second time, colored and die-cut. By tucking the cut ends beneath the sentiment strip (adhered with my Tiny Attacher), the stem looks longer than it actually is.

Stamping Bella Daisy Floral Set (close-up)

Copic markers – BG10, BG11, BG70, E000, E00, E04, E11, E21, E31, E35, E37, E47, G21, G24, G29, RV66, RV99, V01, V12, YR23

This is the first time I’ve used the combination of V01 with V12. It creates a lovely blend. I used RV66 and RV99 to create a bit of deeper shadow. Queen & Company‘s Delightful Dots patterned paper is a perfect match.

NEXT WEEK’S CHALLENGE

Use a vintage Stamping Bella image, meaning one NOT from the current/most recent release. (If the image is not listed in the “what’s new” category, then it’s considered “vintage.”) If you’d like, email your card to [email protected] by next Thursday to be featured on the SB blog. Simple Mother’s Day Die-cut Roses (paper smooches)

Hi everyone! Today I have another Mother’s Day card to share using more from Paper Smoocheslast release. (It was a wonderful release!!)

Paper Smooches Stemmed Rose die

This card was SO quick and easy. I first die-cut the Stemmed Rose three times from black card stock then removed all the inside pieces. I then die-cut the water portion of the die from blue, the leaves from green and the roses from orange, lavender and light pink card stock.

Paper Smooches Stemmed Rose die (close-up)

Copic markers (over colored card stock): R21, R22, V28, YR16, YR18

The outlines were adhered to the card front then I began inserting the colored pieces. Note: Before inserting the rose pieces, I colored over three of the four pieces in each with just one or two Copic markers (listed beneath close-up photo) to give an ombre appearance.

The sentiment, from Precious Mom, was stamped beneath the vases, and I adhered two scraps of black and white striped patterned paper.  Done! So easy and I love it.  🙂

We’ll be hopping on May 6th with previews of Paper Smooches’ May release! Thanks for visiting today!

Lovely Tumbleblossoms (and more)

Hello everyone. I hope your week has gone well. We’re slowly getting over our sicknesses here. What a beast this has been. Ugh.

This week with Stamping Bella we’re using images from the latest release, and what a release it was! New Curvy Girls, cute Gnomes, Oddball Animals, Tiny Townies, a ballerina Uptown Girl..and brand new Danielle Donaldson Tumbleblossoms.

On my card today, I used a combination of Tumbleblossom #8 (the larger flowers) and Tumbleblossom #4 (tall thin stems).

The images were stamped onto my favorite watercolor cardstock then watercolored with Kuretake Clean Color Real Brush Watercolor Brush Pens. Once dried, I adhered over the patterned paper, laid a piece of translucent vellum over top and tied with gold cord. I included a Celebrate die-cut, cut from gold card stock. Vellum is held in place by small pieces of strategically placed double-sided tape (under cord and sentiment). I used 1/8″ tape, cut in half.

Also this week on Instagram, I posted the cards below. All are stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers. Marker colors used are listed below each photo.

hello (paper smooches)

Hello everyone. I hope you’re having a great day. 🙂  Off topic from stamping, I was recently on a quick get-a-way and had time to actually read a book. Several  friends had recommended Sarah’s Key.

Sarah's Key

If you like historical fiction (which I LOVE), I highly recommend this one. I couldn’t put it down. It’s one of my all-time favorite reads. If you have any great books to recommend, please let me know below. I’m starting my vacation list.  🙂

Today I have a cute card to share using new Paper Smooches stamps and dies along with a tiny bit of old.

Paper Smooches Rad Roses, Fab Frames dies, Courteous Cuties

I love the new Rad Roses die. So easy to create a quick card. I also used new Fab Frames. which includes seven dies, one of which is a script “hi” die.   Peeking from the frame borders are two Courteous Cuties.

Paper Smooches Rad Roses, Fab Frames dies, Courteous Cuties (close-up)

Copic markers – BG1, R12, R32, Y23, YR23

The bees were stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card, colored with Copic markers then die-cut using the cooresponding Courteous Cuties Icons die. Behind the bees I used a block of Queen & Company‘s Simple Stripes patterned paper. Inside the roses are pieces die-cut from Delightful Dots. The paper in that collection perfectly match those in Simple Stripes.  🙂  I finished with a sprinkling of black Jelly Gems.

Revisiting Stamping Bella’s Bella 2.0s

Hello everyone. I hope you’ve had a great week. I have been very sick with a nasty sinus infection and bronchitis. Horrible. But I am slowly improving, thank goodness.

This week the Stamping Bella team is revisiting the Bella 2.0 category. You may recall that Balloonabella is the April Stamp of the Month and 25% off through 4/30. So today we’re using other images from that same group of images. 🙂

Stamping Bella Thinking of You aBella 2.0

I chose to use Thinking of You aBella. I like that this image is a bit bigger than most in this category as it provides the opportunity to practice shading in a larger area.

Copic markers – BG15, C00, C1, C2, E000, E00, E04, E11, E21, E31, E35, E37, E47, R20, R29, R39, Y21, YG03, YG05, YG07, YG09; Kirarina Wink White Pearl pen

She was stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers. I added the tiny dot pattern using my Kirarina Wink White Pearl pen. (Simple Stripes patterned paper is from Queen & Company.)
