Make Today Great (paper smooches)

Paper Smoocheslatest release is so adorable. Seriously, SO cute! I shared my first card using the new Sunnyville stamp set HERE. Today I’ve turned to the new dies.  🙂

I used Sunny dies and Mini Clouds dies. They work perfectly together! The sentiment is from Sunnyville stamp set.

Before adhering the sun and clouds, I masked off a section of X-Press It Blending Card using Post It Tape then blended in blue to green using Distress Oxide inks in Twisted Citron, Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed.  (While I mostly use Blending Card for Copic coloring, I also like the bright white and the smoothness for easy blending.) At the base of the sponged area, I adhered several Mini Flowers, popping up every other flower on a foam square for added dimension.

You can find Paper Smooches‘ latest release HERE. And don’t forget that every order over $60 qualifies for a free stamp set! Simply state the stamp set you’d like (for FREE) in the comments section when placing your order.  🙂

Personalized Father’s Day Card

Today I’m sharing another Father’s Day card I created using a mix of old and new product from Paper Smooches.

I created this card specifically for my mom’s husband. I suppose he is technically referred to as my “stepfather.” But that sounds so distant and impersonal. He is such a caring man, always thinking of others. He really is special.

He’s a part-time tutor for college students so I chose to use the pen from We Totally Click. He’s big tea drinker so I used the cup from Daddy Yo 2 and Daddy Yo Icons dies with a tiny Inchies tag displaying a Tiny Heart. And he wears a hat similar to the one I created using Man Hat dies. I think he’ll love it.  The sentiment is also from Daddy Yo 2. I snipped “Happy” away from the rest of the sentiment for easy use. (It can just as easily be realigned with the remaining piece should I want to use it as one long sentiment.)

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Father’s Day x 2 (paper smooches)

Hello everyone! It’s time to get cranking on Father’s Day cards. I have two fun samples below using product from Paper Smooches latest release.

New Dress Shirt Dies are great for creating a super quick masculine card. I used Simple Stripes patterned paper from Queen & Company to mimic a pinstripe dress shirt. And how about those tiny pens? So cute.

I used DAD from new Dude Dies and You’re the Best from Dude Sampler.  To add a bit of dimension, I placed foam squares beneath the pocket and each front corner of the collar.

Next, I created a collage of Father’s Day appropriate words and phrases using Dude Sampler and Daddy Yo 2.

My MISTI is immensely helpful in aligning and ensuring solidly stamped impressions. That tool has been a real game changer for me.

Paper Smooches May Release Blog Hop

Hello!  It’s time to share a sampling of the NEW Paper Smooches MAY 2019 release!  THREE new stamp sets and TWO new dies will be available to purchase at 10:00 a.m. Central time zone on May 7th.  Once they go live, you will find the new products here.

PRIZE ALERT: To add extra fun to our blog hop we are giving away FOUR $30 gift codes to use at the PS online store.  (Details below.)

Paper Smooches Sportsball and Sportsball Icons dies

I used new Sportsball stamp set with Sportsball Icons dies, perfect for any sports fanatics you may know! My husband and I both are huge hockey fans so of course I gravitated immediately toward the hockey stick and puck. (Too bad my beloved Washington Capitals lost in the first round of playoffs. It was heartbreaking.  But…there’s always next year!)

Paper Smooches Sportsball and Sportsball Icons dies (close-up)

I used the hockey stick die to die-cut two black sticks, flipping one over so I’d have one facing each direction. I added thin strips of red, white and blue to the top and white to the bottom to mimic tape. I’m saving this card for my husband’s birthday. I think he’ll like it.  🙂

Simple Mother’s Day Die-cut Roses (paper smooches)

Hi everyone! Today I have another Mother’s Day card to share using more from Paper Smoocheslast release. (It was a wonderful release!!)

Paper Smooches Stemmed Rose die

This card was SO quick and easy. I first die-cut the Stemmed Rose three times from black card stock then removed all the inside pieces. I then die-cut the water portion of the die from blue, the leaves from green and the roses from orange, lavender and light pink card stock.

Paper Smooches Stemmed Rose die (close-up)

Copic markers (over colored card stock): R21, R22, V28, YR16, YR18

The outlines were adhered to the card front then I began inserting the colored pieces. Note: Before inserting the rose pieces, I colored over three of the four pieces in each with just one or two Copic markers (listed beneath close-up photo) to give an ombre appearance.

The sentiment, from Precious Mom, was stamped beneath the vases, and I adhered two scraps of black and white striped patterned paper.  Done! So easy and I love it.  🙂

We’ll be hopping on May 6th with previews of Paper Smooches’ May release! Thanks for visiting today!

hello (paper smooches)

Hello everyone. I hope you’re having a great day. 🙂  Off topic from stamping, I was recently on a quick get-a-way and had time to actually read a book. Several  friends had recommended Sarah’s Key.

Sarah's Key

If you like historical fiction (which I LOVE), I highly recommend this one. I couldn’t put it down. It’s one of my all-time favorite reads. If you have any great books to recommend, please let me know below. I’m starting my vacation list.  🙂

Today I have a cute card to share using new Paper Smooches stamps and dies along with a tiny bit of old.

Paper Smooches Rad Roses, Fab Frames dies, Courteous Cuties

I love the new Rad Roses die. So easy to create a quick card. I also used new Fab Frames. which includes seven dies, one of which is a script “hi” die.   Peeking from the frame borders are two Courteous Cuties.

Paper Smooches Rad Roses, Fab Frames dies, Courteous Cuties (close-up)

Copic markers – BG1, R12, R32, Y23, YR23

The bees were stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card, colored with Copic markers then die-cut using the cooresponding Courteous Cuties Icons die. Behind the bees I used a block of Queen & Company‘s Simple Stripes patterned paper. Inside the roses are pieces die-cut from Delightful Dots. The paper in that collection perfectly match those in Simple Stripes.  🙂  I finished with a sprinkling of black Jelly Gems.

Rosy Posy No Line Coloring (paper smooches)

Hello everyone! Have you seen the latest from Paper Smooches? If not, you must check out the release HERE. It’s one of my all-time faves.

Paper Smooches Rosy Posy

Today I am sharing a card using Rosy Posy and the no-line coloring technique. Using very light pink, I stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card then colored with Copic markers. The light pink ink virtually disappears once the image is colored.

Paper Smooches Rosy Posy (close-up)

Copic markers – B21, B23, B26, E30, E40, E41, E42, E43, E44, G20, G21, G24, G28, G46, G94, G99, RV52, RV55, RV63, RV66, RV69, Y32, YG03, YG63, YR23; Kirarina Wink White Pearl glitter pen

After coloring, I added white highlights using a Kirarina Wink White Pearl pen. The image was framed with a new Fab Frames die then stitched with linen thread. 🙂

Water you up to? (paper smooches)

Water YOU up to? Seriously, I’d like to know. Do you do crafts other than card making? I’ve recently gone back to sketching. My plan is to eventually tip my hand into mixed media. I want to sketch, paint, and get messy. I’ve been slowly buying supplying. It’s been a LONG time since I’ve picked up a pencil and just sketched, and I have pretty much zero experience with mixed media so it’s rather uncomfortable for me.  But I’m determined to do it. Maybe I’ll share some sketches here soon.

Paper Smooches Splash

For today I’m sharing a card using one of Paper Smooches‘ latest releases, Splash with Splash Icons dies.

Paper Smooches Splash (close-up)

Copic markers – B0000, B000, B00, E30, E31, E33, E35, E42, E43, E44, E49, E50, E53, Y0000, Y000

I colored the images and background using Copic markers (listed above) onto X-Press It Blending Card. When I adhered the beaver, I placed a clear foam square behind his head and glued the log portion right to the paper, creating just a bit of dimension.

You can find all of Paper Smooches’ latest products HERE. New release coming soon! Thanks for visiting today!
