Winter Greetings

Hello! I hope your weekend was nice. The weather here was lovely, like spring. January 11 and we had the air conditioner on. Insane. I think we head back to winter this weekened.

Paper Smooches Winter Greetings and Scene Builder stencil

Today I’m sharing a card using new Paper Smooches. I first created a background with Scene Builder stencil, adding a few white embossed snowflakes after the blending. It was fun and so very easy.  🙂

Paper Smooches Winter Greetings and Scene Builder stencil (close-up)

Copic markers – BG11, BG13, E30, E31, E33, Y17, YR14

I then stamped the cute owl from new Winter Greetings stamp set onto X-Press It Blending Card, colored with Copic markers and die-cut using the cooresponding Winter Greetings Icons die. To add a bit of dimension, the owl was popped up on Kool Tak clear foam squares. As a finishing touch, I adhered a tiny white Queen & Company pompom. (I used Sheer Glue to adhere. It’s my fave for attaching acetate or fiber.)

As a side note, have you seen Queen & Company‘s pom pom dispenser? It’s a little gumball machine! SO cute!

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Speech Bubble Fun

Hello again! I’m back today with another card sample using Paper Smooches latest release (as well a favorite critter from a previous release).

Paper Smooches Vanilla Verbiage, Chilly Chums

I first cut a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ block of white card stock, adhered a square of gingham print from Rainbow Sherbet paper pack and zig-zag stitched around the edges.

Note: If I include stitching on my card, I don’t like the stitching to show on the inside so I cut a separate panel to use as a base for my work. It creates a thicker finished card but I’d rather that than have stitching show inside.

Paper Smooches Vanilla Verbiage, Chilly Chums (close-up)

Copic markers – E07, E08, E09, E40

I used new Vanilla Verbiage and Vanilla Verbiage Icons dies to stamp and die-cut the sentiments. Then the cute little fox from Chilly Chums was added to the corner. I colored her/him with Copic markers (listed above).

Through 12/31/19  you can receive Vanilla Verbiage FREE with any $60 retail purchase from the Paper Smooches shop. No code is required at checkout. The stamp set will automatically be included with your order.  🙂

Thanks so much for visiting today!

A Bitty Bow Birthday

Hello everyone! Today I’m sharing a card I created using new dies and new patterned paper now available from Paper Smooches.  (It was super easy!)

I started with a woodgrain pattern from new Rainbow Sherbet paper pad. There are such pretty shades in the pack. I used the woodgrain for the background and the included corresponding solids for the Bitty Bows. Before adhering the bows, I used the single strip die from new Stitch Builders to die-cut holes for stitching. Once die-cut, I stitched using matching DMC thread.

Bows were adhered only in the centers, leaving the “loops” and ends to lift for a bit of dimension. In the center of each bow I adhered a solid Goosebump from Queen & Company. They are no longer in the store but there are other Goosebumps from which to choose. They’re all very pretty and sparkly. Any would work with this design. I don’t see this particular Happy Birthday die in the Paper Smooches store but this one would work just as well.

Thanks so much for visiting today!

DIY Dreamcatcher Greetings

Hello everyone! I have something a bit different today with very little stamping. I created a dreamcatcher on a card using Paper Smooches‘ new Charms dies, Vanilla Verbage, a Flaunters die and pretty new Rainbow Sherbet patterned paper.

Paper Smooches Charms dies, Vanilla Verbage, Flaunters die

I first layered a few Flaunters die-cuts (scalloped circles) to use as a frame. I laid the stacked dies on my Rainbow Sherbet paper and using the scallops as a guide, I poked holes in a circle shape. Coming up from the back with white string threaded onto a needle (I’ll call that Hole A), I counted over six holes then inserted the needle into that hole (Hole B). I then came up in the hole next to Hole A and back down into the hole just past Hole B. continuing all the way around in this pattern until the design was complete. I secured the ends on the back with double-sided tape.

Paper Smooches Charms dies, Vanilla Verbage, Flaunters die (close-up)

After adhering the Flaunters frame, I die-cut the feather charms from cooresponding patterned paper and stamped the simple sentiment using black ink.

It was so easy, and I think it’s cute too.  🙂  You can find all of Paper Smooches’ latest release HERE.  Thanks for visiting today!

Quick and Easy – Holiday Tag and Get Well Card using latest from Paper Smooches

Hello! I hope your weekend was fine! We’ve been gearing up here for Thanksgiving on Thursday. I’m looking forward to seeing family and eating a fabulous dinner cooked by my husband!  Seriously, he’s the best.

Today I have two projects to share using some of the latest from Paper Smooches – both quick and easy – a get well card and a holiday tag.

Paper Smooches To From die set (

First I created this very quick and easy tag using new To From die. The set includes all the pieces used.

Paper Smooches To From die set (close-up)

After die-cutting the tag, I lightly blended a bit of Antique Linen Distress ink around the edges and adhered a bit of lace trim I’ve had for eons. I used Queen & Company’s Sheer Glue to adhere the die-cut pieces and 1/8″ double-sided sticky tape to adhere the lace. So easy.  Bag is 3 1/4″ x 4 1/2″ from Michaels. Perfect for holding a few gift cards/small gifts for my mom and her sweet hubby.

Paper Smooches Well Wishes

The new Well Wishes stamp set is perfect for quick and easy get well cards.

After stamping onto X-Press It Blending Card and coloring with Copic markers (listed below), I die-cut the sentiment using Well Wishes Icons dies.

Copic markers – BG01, BG45, BG49, C1, C3, C5, R32, RV11, RV32, Y08, Y11, YG03, YG05, YG05

I used the litte heart die from the set to die-cut a peek-a-boo heart shape, revealing the dotted paper beneath. Plaid and dots are from Doodlebug Design’s Smitten Kitten paper pad. After adhereing the sentiment and die-cutting the heart, I popped up the plaid panel using foam tape.

Thanks so much for visiting today! I appreciate you!

Sunflowers Make Everything Better

I’ve always been mesmerized by sunflowers. The blooms are so very large and heavy, it seems they wouldn’t be able to stand upright at all yet they do. I think they’re the perfect flower to send thoughts of encouragement or support.

Paper Smooches Sunflower dies, Feel Better Sampler

The new Sunflower dies from Paper Smooches are lovely. The set includes two flower sizes, two styles of leaves and the flower centers. (Die-cutting tip: Use a thin metal shim for crisp clean cuts and embossed detail.) I cut thin strips of green card stock to create the stems.

Paper Smooches Sunflower dies, Feel Better Sampler (close-up)

The sentiment is from new Feel Better Sampler. The set includes 14 sentiments which can be used on the outside as well as the inside of a card. It’s a *great* set.  Highly recommend.  🙂

Stenciled Flowers

Hi everyone. Today I’m sharing a card using Paper Smooches‘ new Botanical stencil and Thinking of You die. It’s spring in November!  (Not really, just in card maker world.)

This was very easy to create. I first blocked off  two inches of the center section using Post It Tape then used the stencil and blending tool to blend in each of the flowers and stems. I did all of the Guava first, then Pineapple, then the Granny Smith stems. The way the flowers are positioned on the stencil makes it easy to line everything up.

After die-cutting the sentiment, I added some dotted hightlights with a Kirarina Wink White Pearl pen, adhered with Multi Medium Matte and added a few sequins as a finishing touch.

You can find all of Paper Smooches’ latest release here. Thanks so much for visiting today. 🙂
