i miss you (color throwdown)

Hi everyone.  It’s time for another Color Throwdown!  This week Broni chose a bright palette of red, fuchsia, black and white.

CTD365 swatch (003)

This little racoon critter from Mama Elephant‘s Three Amigos was calling my name. I decided to go with black and white with just a bit of red and fuchsia.

Michele Boyer - Mama Elephant

After stamping onto X-Press It Blending Card and coloring with Copic markers, I stamped the sentiment, highlighting the word “miss” then added three Tiny Hearts (by Paper Smooches), die-cut from red and bright pink card stock then coated with Glossy Accents. To add just a bit more detail, I dotted over the raccoon’s eyes with a black glossy pen.

Michele Boyer - Mama Elephant

Copic markers – N1, N3, N5, N7, N9, R01, E50

I used 1/8″ X-Press It double-sided tape to adhere the striped panel and Kool Tak clear foam squares to adhere the raccoon.

You can find all details  for this week’s challenge on the Color Throwdown blog where you can also link your project.  I hope you’ll play along!

sending hugs (stamping bella)

Hi everyone.  Just popping in with a card I made a few weeks back and realized I never posted. I adore this image by Stamping BellaMaggie with Penguin by Mo Manning.

Michele Boyer - Stamping Bella

Like almost everything I color, she was stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers. I decided to stick with an easy layout, using a simple panel of dotted paper as the background.

I shortened the accompanying sentiment from “Sending you Christmas hugs” to just “sending hugs.”

Michele Boyer - Stamping Bella

Copic markers – E00, E11, BV000, R01, R02, R24, R29, R59, R89, R20, Y21, YR23, E31, E33, E35, W1, W2, W4, W5, W7, BG11, Kirarina Wink White Pearl pen

have yourself a merry little Christmas (paper smooches)

Hi everyone. I’m back today with another sample using stamps and dies from Paper Smooches‘ latest release.

The images, from Tis the Season, were stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card, colored with Copic markers and die-cut with coordinating Tis the Season Icons dies.

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

After coloring, I added subtle sparkle to the snowman’s scarf and gingerbread buttons with a clear Wink of Stella Brush. Sprinkles were added to the heart cookie using a White Pearl Kirarina Wink pen, and a tiny red rhinestone serves as the berry on the glass. Images on the left and right are popped up on Kool Tak Clear Foam Squares, and I used my MISTI to easily stamp the sentiment from Holiday Cheer, with the word “merry” highlighted in red.

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

Copic markers – YG09, G05, Y21, Y35, R27, R29, R59, E31, E33, E35, Kirarina Wink White Pearl pen

Once the focal panel was complete, I popped it up on foam tape over the striped paper.

Thanks for visiting today!  🙂

Coloring Flowers with Copic Markers

Today I have a step-by-step tutorial on coloring flowers and leaves with Copic markers. I’ve used many of the techniques found in Coloring Flowers with Copic   Markers published by Imagination International and written/illustrated by Marianne Walker. The book includes tutorials ranging from basic to intermediate as well as line art that can be copied/printed for practice.

Coloring Flowers with Copic Markers

The book covers smooth coloring and blending, showing depth through color, coloring skies, adding a soft haze around an image as well as different ways to use the Colorless Blender. It’s a great resource for beginners as well as those with more coloring experience.

Finished-500

I printed this lovely Winter Pick Me Up digital image from Power Poppy onto X-Press It Blending Card. There is an accompanying sentiment but I chose to leave my card front sentiment-free. Continue reading

i knew when i met you (stamping bella)

Welcome to another Bellarific Friday. It’s been a super stressful last part of the week around here so I’m pretty happy the weekend is near.

Last week’s challenge with Stamping Bella was an inspiration photo/color challenge. I chose the colors.  🙂

I used Tiny Townie Petunia Gets a Piggy Back.

Michele Boyer - Stamping Bella

I stamped the image onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copics. I didn’t have buttons to match so I die-cut a couple and stitched them on.

Ugly Sweater Party (paper smooches)

Hi everyone! I have a fun invitation to share today using Paper Smooches‘ new Tis the Season stamp set.

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

This set is SO cute. There are images and sentiments for various holiday parties including ugly sweater, white elephant, cookie exchange and even Chrismakha. haha.  So clever!

I used the “string” die from new Holiday Lights and the hangar from Hang Ups. To create the appearance of the hangar hanging on the line, I first stamped the hangar, positioned and adhered the line, then used a Copic Multi-liner to continue the hangar line over the green line.

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

Copic – BG11, E35, R29, R59, Y18, YG07, YG17, YR15, YR23, C7, C9, Kirarina Wink Strawberry Ice (dots), 0.3 black Multi-liner

Once colored, I added pink dots to the sweater using a Kirarina Wink Strawberry Ice pen and colored over the snowman’s scarf with a clear Wink of Stella glitter brush.

Thanks for visiting today!  🙂

congrats! (Color Throwdown)

Hi everyone! It’s time for another Color Throwdown! It’s so much fun to see everyone’s interpretation of the color palette.  🙂

This week’s hostess is Barbara and she’s chosen lime green, aqua and coral. (How fun are those sneakers?)

CTD364 swatch

I’ve used Stamping Bella‘s Uptown Girl Brynn has a Baby Shower.

Michele Boyer - Stamping Bella

She was stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers. I really like this color combo!

Merry Watercolor-y Christmas (Paper Smooches)

Today I have a different sort of Christmas card to share.  Different can be fun. 🙂

I used Gansai Tambi watercolors on watercolor paper then adhered Paper Smooches‘ new Merry Christmas die.

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

The colors are non-traditional, but that’s what I like about it – the colors.  And the die.  And the gold. 🙂

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

Other than the bit of dry-time, this was a really quick card, coming together in just minutes. Bonus!

Happy Halloween (Stamping Bella)

It’s Bellarific Friday!  🙂  Last week’s challenge with Stamping Bella was a sketch which I totally stuck to. **pats self on back**

I kept my card clean and simple this week. I  used Halloween Cat, colored with Copic markers, then cut out and adhered over a big ol’ full moon. (Sentiment is from Taylored Expressions A Bushel and a Peck.)

Michele Boyer - Stamping Bella

The moon is raised on foam squares, as is the lantern hanging from the cat’s tail. Once the main panel was assembled, I rounded the corners and adhered it to my card base using foam tape. As a finishing touch, I added a handful of tiny purple rhinestones.

Michele Boyer - Stamping Bella

Copic – C1, C2, C3, C7, 110, E55, E57, R02, V15, V17, Y02, YG06, YG09, YR04, YR09
