Monthly Archives: August 2015

go ahead, tear it open!

Hi everyone! I’m back today sharing another of Stamping Bella‘s upcoming releases, Christmas Morning Chicks. This was so fun to color. It reminded me of one of those Highlights Magazine pages where you search for the pictures. As I colored, I kept finding chicks tucked here and there. haha.  So cute.

Michele Boyer - Stamping Bella

I went with untraditional colors as this image could actually be used for more than just Christmas. I stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers. Once colored, I added sparkle and shine to some areas using a clear Wink of Stella brush.

Be sure to check out the Stamping Bella blog later this morning for more samples using this cute image plus another!  🙂

J O Y – New Stamping Bella and Bellarific Friday

Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing another sample from Stamping Bella‘s August 17 release as well as a card for Bellarific Friday!  Let’s get to the new release first! 🙂

Today I’ve used Tiny Townie Jenny Feels Joyful. (So cute!!)

Michele Boyer - Stamping Bella

After stamping onto X-Press It Blending Card, I colored with Copics, adding clear Wink of Stella glitter (brush) over the ribbons and JOY letters. Tiny white dots were added to the red gift using a Kirarina White Pearl pen.

Check out the Stamping Bella blog a little later today to see more samples featuring Jenny!  Also, don’t forget to leave a comment on the Stamping Bella (blog) new release post for your chance to win her!  🙂

Now, onto Bellarific Friday!  Last week’s challenge was a sketch, which I *totally* stuck to this time.  🙂

I used Tiny Townie Bree Loves Buttercream.  I stamped her onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers, then added tiny white dots to the top of her dress using a White Pearl Kirarina pen.

Michele Boyer - Stamping Bella

I die-cut a circle around her, allowing the top of her head and the cake to extend past the circle’s edge. I also placed small foam squares behind the extending parts to add a bit of dimension to the image.

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

All stamping was done on X-Press It Blending Card then colored with Copic markers. To brighten the card, I used a leftover strip of bright stripes from Pebbles Fun in the Sun paper pack and a few colorful enamel dots.

forever and for all eternity

Hi everyone! Today I’ve had some fun with heat embossing.

I used MFT’s Garden Flourish Background to white emboss on pink, then used a pink Copic to outline the left edges of most of the flourishes. I love the look of the added dimension.

Final-Full-500

The sentiment, from Pretty Phrases by Paper Smooches, was gold embossed on vellum.

happy (southwest) birthday

Hi everyone! Today I’m using a few new products from Taylored Expressions‘ latest release – Southwest Cover Plate, Free Spirit stamp set and Fine Feathers dies.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I die-cut the cover plate from both black and blue card stock. All pieces were removed from the black and the remaining frame was adhered to a white card base. I then inserted various pieces of the blue, creating a pattern in the openings.

I adhered a sliver of blue card stock to the Fine Feather die-cut then adhered and stitched the feather next to the Free Spirit sentiment.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I see lots and lots of creative possibilities with this die. I’m sure I’ll be using it again very soon! 🙂

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Hi everyone! Today I’ve had a bit of fun with Paper SmoochesAlfresco stamp set and new coordinating Alfresco Icons dies. (I ♥ this little ant!!)

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

I used a Borders 1 die to create the rolling hills, adding in stitched lines using a White Pearl Kirarina pen. (If you don’t have one, you *need* one.)

All images were stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers.

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

To create the sky I used a Waves die, sponging ink repeatedly around the die-cut edge, and the tiny flag was die-cut using an Adornments die.

Thanks so much for visiting!

Michele Boyer - Stamping Bella

She was stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches’ Bosom Buddy stamp set.

Taylored Expressions Release Day – Grumplings in Costume

It’s Release Day with Taylored Expressions!  This month we have lots of spooky goodness along with some daisies and a bit of southwestern flair. (I’ve had lots of fun!)

My cards today use Grumplings in Costume stamp set with coordinating dies as well as Wrought Iron Gate & Fence and new Halloween Build-a-Scene patterned paper.

There are two pre-printed scenes in the paper pack which allow for super quick and easy cards!

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

Here, I simply die-cut the Wrought Iron Gate & Fence from Oreo card stock then stamped and die-cut the Grumpling, coloring with Copic markers.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I added a thin dotted green strip (“grass”) from BAS Halloween paper pack and used a stamp positioner to break the sentiment into two lines (rather than four).

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

For my second card, I used another of the pre-printed scenes, adding bits of extra shading with gray Copic markers. I die-cut another Wrought Iron Fence, nipping off portions to fit inside the fireplace opening.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I used Glossy Accents to add bubbles around the wand and Banner Stacklets 1 to create the sentiment strip.
