A Quick and Easy Gift Card Holder/Tag

Hi everyone! I realized the other day that I had not shared this earlier. Taylored Expressions has quite a few Roly Poly dies that work perfectly with the Tag Pocket to create quick and easy gift card holders. For the holiday season, I used Roly Poly Reindeer. Santa, Snowman and Penguin would also work great for this time of year!

Holiday-Tag-500

Instead of using a die-cut circle for the body or base shape, I simply used the tag.

I stitched a few 6mm jingle bells to the collar before adhering with double sided tape, then popped up the nose on a piece of foam tape.  S-u-p-e-r easy.

I think it would be fun to also move the pupils to create different expressions. Looking up, looking down, left, right, crossed.  🙂

Thanks so much for visiting today! I’ll be back soon.

Taylored Expressions October Release Now Available – Tis the Season

Hi everyone! I hope you’ve enjoyed the Taylored Expressions‘ October release previews over the last several days. All new stamps and dies are now available in the TE store. Before you head over, I have two more samples to share.

First, I used Santa & Friends with new Tree Shaker die set.

Taylored Expressions Tree Shaker

After sponging a bit of Cupcake ink into the center of my card, I die-cut the tree from green dotted paper (from Rainbow Brights paper pack), Granny Smith card stock and from a foam adhesive sheet. I assembled the tree, dropped in some Queen & Company Pops and Fimo Fun, then covered with acetate and the Granny Smith frame.

Copic markers – C00, C1, C5, C7, E00, E01, E11, R83, R85, RV32

The star was cut from a foam sheet and then new Gold Foil card stock and positioned above the tree. I adhered Santa’s head to the bottom right of the tree then positioned his body below, accordingly. Little Bits Snowflake Confetti finished off the wintery scene.

Taylored Expressions Tree Shaker with stamped envelope

To quickly and easily decorate a coordinating envelope, I stamped and white embossed the label shape from new Merry Mail 1 stamp set.

My second card was super simple, but as simple as it is, that’s how much I love it. I adore the new Nativity Cutting Plate.

Taylored Expressions Nativity Cutting Plate

I lightly sponged a background using Sprinkles ink, concentrating more color toward the bottom.

Celebrate-the-Season-Nativity-CU

The scene was die-cut from Toffee card stock with a small sentiment stamped from new Sleigh Bouquet. The star above the manger is from new Build a Scene Nativity.

To see more projects, please head over to the TE Blog for a complete list of our designers. Also on the TE Blog today, you’ll find a list of winners from the preview posts. You might be one of them!

On a sad note, this will be my last release with Taylored Expressions. Life has gotten very busy and I felt it was time to cut back on my crafting responsibilities. I’ll still be using TE product, just not as part of the design team.

Thanks so much for visiting!

Taylored Expressions October Release Previews – Reindeer Pops and Baubles

Hello everyone! Today I’m sharing a few more projects using some of Taylored Expressions‘ October 5 release products.

First I used a super fun new die set – Reindeer Pop. In the nose opening, I used cherry Tootsie Pops and EOS lip balm. Both fit perfectly, but in different ways.

Taylored Expressions Reindeer Pops

To create the pop holders, I die-cut all pieces from Toffee, Mocha, Sugar Cube and Oreo card stock. I assembled each face, using an R01 Copic marker to lightly color the inside pieces of the ears.

To secure the pop, I die-cut a second large face base, sandwiched the pop in between the layers and applied double-sided tape to adhere the layers together.

Taylored Expressions Reindeer Pops (close-up with EOS lip balm)

To insert the EOS lip balm, I simply sandwiched the reindeer between the top and bottom of the container.  So simple and so cute!  🙂

Next, I colored one of TE’s  new {Frame-Worthy} Christmas panels.

Merry-and-Bright-500

The package includes one each of four different designs printed onto Sugar Cube card stock (which is Copic compatible) and trimmed to 8″ x 10″ for use in a standard frame.

Merry-and-Bright-CU

After coloring with Copics, I used Copic Opaque White to add tiny dots of bright white to the ornaments.

Taylored Expressions October Release Previews – A Flurry of Winter Wishes

Hi everyone! I’m back today to share two more samples of Taylored Expressions‘ upcoming October 5 release. Do you have a favorite so far? If so, I’m curious to know.  🙂

My first card uses beautiful Winter White stamp set with Snowed in Sayings. Winter White is definitely one of my favorites from this release.  The snowflakes are just so beautiful.

Taylored Expressions - Winter White

I first stamped the snowflakes onto Arches 140 lb. coldpress watercolor paper using Sugar Cube pigment ink.  I white embossed then loosely watercolored over the snowflakes using Mermaid Lagoon and Shaded Lilac Distress inks. It’s such a pretty color combo, I think.

Taylored Expressions - Winter White (close-up)

Mermaid Lagoon and Shaded Lilac Distress Ink

Once the watercoloring was completely dry, I stamped the sentiment and rounded the corners. I adhered foam tape to the back then adhered to a Sprinkles card base.

As a finishing touch, I decided to adhere a super sparkly Swarovski crystal to each snowflake center.

My next card uses new Big Blooms Poinsettia with Peace Script.

Taylored Expressions - Big Blooms Poinsettia

The poinsettia was stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card then colored with Copic markers.  I die-cut Peace from new Gold Foil card stock (which is LOVELY) and adhered that to a block of vellum.

Taylored Expressions - Big Blooms Poinsettia (close-up)

Copic markers – R24, R29, R89, Y17, YR14

I strategically placed tiny dots of Multi Medium Matte to inconspicuously adhere the vellum over the colored image, then layered that over gold foil. I tied the gold twine (which also helps to hold the vellum in place) then adhered all to my card base.Stamped envelope detail

To quickly and easily dress up a coordinating envelope, I used Delicata Golden Glitz ink to stamp a poinsettia border from new Merry Mail 2.

Taylored Expressions October Release Previews – Spread Christmas Cheer

Hi everyone! It’s the first day of Taylored Expressions‘ October 5 release previews, and time to begin crafting for the holidays! I can’t believe Christmas is less than three months away.

I have two samples to share today. First, I used new Santa & Friends stamps and dies with new Christmas Tree Stacklets.

Taylored Expressions Santa & Friends

In the Santa & Friends set are three characters, each with separate heads and bodies so they are interchangable, and the heads are easily popped up on these super cool Mini Wobble Springs, also available on October 5th.

Capture

Simply peel away the release tape from each side and adhere where desired. Your image (or partial image) is instantly popped up and wiggling. So cute.

Taylored Expressions Santa & Friends (close-up)

Copic markers – BG11, E00, E00, E11, E31, E35, G07, R01, R83, R85, R29, R59, RV32, Y21, YG03

Behind my elf and Christmas Tree Stacklet, I placed a panel of embossed Lots of Dots and added a strip of Playful Patterns-Holiday stripes. The tree was decorated with metallic gold twine and enamel shapes.

Next I used new If Snowmen Could Talk stamp set.

Even-Im-Sick-of-Winter-500

The set includes a faceless snowman along with eight expressions, mittens, seven sentiments and coordinating dies.

Even-Im-Sick-of-Winter-CU

I surrounded my snowman with Build a Scene Rolling (snow) Hills and Little Bits Snowflake Confetti with Salt Water Taffy enamel shape centers.

Playing with (stencil) Paste

Hi everyone.  Today I’ve done a bit of playing with Tommy Mixed Media Stencil Paste. (I love how it looks over bright inks!)

Thanks-a-Million-500

Tommy Stencil Light Paste is a super light and soft, creamy paste, perfect for use with stencils. If applied thickly, it doesn’t crack, and it can also be tinted with Tommy Art Colors.

Tommy Stencil Light Paste

I first used a sponge blending tool to apply Spiced Marmalade, Abandoned Coral and Picked Raspberry Distress inks onto white card stock. I then used a pallette knife to apply the paste over my stencil, moving the palette knife from top to bottom.

Thanks-a-Million-1

Once applied, I carefully lifted the stencil so I wouldn’t disturb the paste, then I let it dry.

Thanks-a-Million-2

After trimming the piece to the desired size, I added a Thanks Script cut from gold card stock and white embossed “a million” (from Simon Says Stamp “Thanks” set).

Thanks-a-Million-CU

I love the texture of the paste with the bright colors showing.  🙂

Thanks (a million) for visiting today!

Taylored Expressions September Release Now Available!

Hi everyone!  All of Taylored Expressionsnew release products are now available! But before you shop, I have two more samples to share.

Taylored Expressions Blooms Overlay

First I created a birthday card using Blooms Overlay and new Happy Script. The flowers also layer perfectly over those found on new Sympathy Blooms Cutting Plate.

Taylored Expressions Blooms Overlay (close-up)

After adhering the Happy Script die-cut and stamping “birthday” from Another Year Older,  I adhered a few Posies from Queen & Company.

Next I created a cute dino birthday card using new Peek-a-Boo Birthday and Number Balloons.

Taylored Expressions Peek-a-Boo Birthday

I centered the dino within an Egg Stacklet then tied a Number Balloon to his tail.

Copic markers – B01, E35, Y21, YG91, YG93, YG95, YG97, YR23,

The sentiment was stamped in Oreo and Sweet Basil ink. (The MISTI makes duo colored sentiments so very easy to stamp since there is no moving of the stamp or card stock. I’m not sure how I survived without my MISTI.)
