Monthly Archives: June 2015

hello

Hi everyone!  Just popping in with a super quick, super easy card using more from Paper Smooches‘ latest release.  Today I’ve used Gently Seasoned 2 which is this month’s TAM set (Thanks a Million), FREE through the end of June with any $60 retail order.

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

I did a bit of watercolor “smooshing” in the background. Super easy! Press ink pad(s) onto a piece of acetate, spray with water, tip to blend then flip over onto a piece of card stock. It’s always fun to see how the colors appear once the acetate is removed. Try it!

Once the watercolor was dried, I stamped and then colored in the leaves and birdhouse with a small paintbrush.

Thanks for stopping by today! I know it’s a busy time with school ending, vacations beginning, etc. I appreciate every visit.  🙂

sip, sip, hooray!

Hi everyone!  Today I have another sample using a few products from Taylored Expressions‘ latest release – Sip, Sip Hooray stamps and dies with a bit of Rolling Waves.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

The umbrella and lemonade/glasses were cut from X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers. I like the striped straws. 🙂

I used the rounded portions of the Waves dies to create the sand with a small slip of Salt Water Taffy water peeking out in the distance.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

The sun was cut using Little Bits Sun & Clouds dies with the center popped up on a clear foam square. Lastly, I tied a bit of Natural hemp cord.

Wish I were there.  🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Aw, shucks!

Hi everyone! Back to Monday we go. (Good and bad for me.)  🙂

My card today features a couple of new Paper Smooches releases as well as an old favorite of mine, Green Acres. I especially love the cow, but didn’t use that image today. Next time!  🙂

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

After stamping the farmer onto X-Press It Blending Card and coloring with Copic markers, I used a Copic to add in the wheat.  (Whisk up the marker from the “ground” up and add tiny dots at the top.)

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

I added a sun with rays created using new Fringe 2 die, white Curly Clouds and a Heart die-cut from denim. The sentiment was stamped using the alphabet from new Notebook Paper 2. (The letters are the perfect size for creating small sentiments on cards.)

Thanks so much for visiting!

celebrate EVERYTHING

Hi everyone!

This week’s Bellarific Friday theme was  “anything but a card.”   I used a frame from my stash, placing new Tiny Townies Tiny Dancers inside. I can’t begin to say how much I love the new Tiny Townies, and this one just might be my favorite from the lot of them. Sooooo cute.

Celebrate-Everything-500

I stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers, then used a Copic to alter clear rhinestones. This is super easy to do. Just be careful not to touch the marker to the adhesive strip connecting the rhinestones.

I adore these girls.   ♥

You can check out more “anything but a card” projects by the DT on the Stamping Bella blog (a little later this morning).

Next week’s challenge is a sketch:

Cute Clipboard

Hi everyone!  I’m back today with another card using Paper Smooches June releases.

Clipboards Two (which corresponds with Clipboard dies) has a variety of elements to create a clipboard along with checklists and sentiments/words. Since I wanted to throw “sweet” into the mix, I used the alphabet from Notebook Paper 2 to create my checklist words.

The cut ice cream from Sugar Rush was die-cut from X-Press It Blending Card using new Sugar Rush Icons dies then colored with Copic markers.

i was swept off my feet

Hi everyone!

Today I used a super cute set from Paper Smooches, Squeaky Clean.  It’s full of cute images as well as fun, quirky sentiments.

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

The images were die-cut from X-Press It Blending Card using newly released Squeaky Clean Icons dies then colored with Copics.  To create the grid background, I stamped new Notebook Paper 2 horizontally and vertically. (I’m making the most of my stamps!)  🙂

wishing you a bright sunshiny day

Hi everyone! Today I have a card to share using a couple of Taylored Expressions latest releases. I adore this little Sailboat which I’ve paired with new Rolling Waves.

Michele June Sunshiny Day3

The boat was cut from Echo Park’s Simple Life patterned papers (one of my latest favorites) and Chocolate Truffle card stock. For added dimension, I placed Kool Tak clear foam squares beneath the floral portion of the sail.

Michele June Sunshiny DayCU3

Waves were cut from Sprinkles card stock, and I added a cute sun from Sun & Clouds dies with the center raised on a clear foam square.

The sentiment is from Sunshiny Day.

Life is Uncertain, Eat Dessert First

In case you haven’t heard, there’s a second 30-day Coloring Challenge being hosted by mega-talent (and I mean that literally) Kathy Racoosin of The Daily MarkerIf you like to color, you should check it out. You just color, with any type of coloring medium, a little or a lot, whichever you prefer, each day for 30 days. It’s ok if you miss some days. This is for FUN.  You can share on Instagram (which is what I use – @SHEL9999), Facebook, Flicker, your blog, anywhere really.  You can find all details for the challenge HERE on Kathy’s blog. It really is a lot of fun to see what everyone is doing, but it’s also fun to just color for the sheer purpose of coloring.

So with coloring every day for 30 days, I end up with many images to turn into cards. But remember…you don’t have to do that!  No pressure. At all.  Today, I turned my colored image into a card.  🙂

Eat dessert first

I used Lulu’s Two Pies by Stamping Bella. She was stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copics.

Let me know if you decide to play along! I’d love to see what you’re up to! 🙂

Thanks for visiting today!

Once she stopped rushing…

Hi everyone!  It’s Bellarific Friday which means it’s time for another challenge with Stamping Bella.  This week’s theme was “anything goes.” And since it’s the first Friday of the month, we’re all using Big Words, available for 20% off through the end of June.

Note that Big Words is a category, not a single stamp, so you can choose among several, and most include more than one stamp.  Bonus!  🙂

Once She Stopped Rushing

I combined (Big Words) Stop Rushing with Uptown Girl Winnie Peeking Out the Window.

Stop Rushing consists of the sentiment I used here plus two smaller ones which can be used inside the card, or as separate sentiments on a card front.

Once She Stopped RushingCU

The image and sentiment were stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card with the image colored using Copic markers. I stamped the flowers a second time, colored and cut out the amount I needed (so as not to cover the sentiment) then adhered the flower strip on clear foam squares.

You can check out more Big Words cards by the DT on the Stamping Bella blog (a little later this morning).

If you’d like to play along, use a current Stamping Bella image, email your card to Emily by next Thursday and you’ll be entered to win some Bella Bucks!  (All challenge details can be found HERE.)

Next week’s challenge is Anything But a Card.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Taylored Expressions Release Day – Wild About You

Hi everyone! Today is my first official post  as a member of the Taylored Expressions‘ Creative Team, (so excited!) and it’s June Release Day too! All of the new products previewed on the TE blog as well as DT blogs are now available and you can find them HERE.

Today I’ve used Wild About You stamps and dies as well as On the Line Cutting Plate.

I adore the animals and sentiments in Wild About You. So cute, and a little bit quirky. I chose to create a belated birthday card (using my favorite sentiment inside the card).

Michele-June-Release-Day3

On the Line Cutting Plate cuts one tree on the far left and one on the far right, fitting perfectly onto an A2 size card. I cut two extra trees, nipped each off the bottom frame and adhered toward the center to “fill in the forest.”  Each was cut from Sweet Basil and Chocolate Truffle card stock. The sky was sponged using Cloud Border, Summer Sky ink and a blending tool.

Michele June Release Day4CU

The giraffe was die-cut from X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers. He is SO cute. I don’t know why, but I’ve always liked giraffes.  🙂

To create the banner, I used the flag and string dies, also from On the Line Cutting Plate, and Echo Park’s Simple Life 6×6 paper pad.

Sorry-I-Missed-Your-BD-In5

To finish the inside, I sponged additional sky, stamped a second giraffe and sentiment and added another banner.

Time to shop? You can find all new products HERE.

Thanks for visiting!  🙂
