thanks, from the bottom of my he{art}

Hi everyone! Welcome to the weekend! Tonight each of our kids had plans so hubby and I had a dinner out to ourselves. We don’t do that often enough so it was a welcome treat.  🙂

I have a quick Paper Smooches card to share. This one uses new Positive Strokes Two with I Heart Art (and a heart from new Hip Hands).

Thanks-from-the-bottom-500The paintbrush was stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card, colored with Copic markers and popped up on foam tape. The brush, along with the heart, form an exclamation point, with the brush tip and heart covered in Glossy Accents.

I’d like to thank everyone for your sweet comments, emails and texts this past week (and month, really). Each one meant a lot to me.  ♥

Thanks for stopping by!

Best Wishes, Friend

Today the Copic team is getting together for a special blog hop to honor and say goodbye to our team mate, Sherrie Siemens.  “Goodbye” probably isn’t the right word as I hope we/Sherrie will keep in touch. But Sherrie is moving on to other things and we wanted to give her a special send off.

I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting Sherrie in person, but I’ve served on a few design teams with her throughout the years. She has always been nothing but sweet and kind to me, and let’s not forget the inspiration she’s given to us all with her AMAZING coloring and teaching skills.

Sherrie, I wish you the very, very best. You will be missed by many. XOXO.  ♥

I’ve used Gonna Miss You digital image by Tiddly Inks. The image comes with suitcases but I chose to place the girl on a brick wall (of sorts) instead.

She was printed on X-Press It Blending Card and colored, of course, with Copic markers. The sentiment is from Salutations by Paper Smooches.

Be sure to stop by the other Copic gals’ blogs to see/read their send-offs.

Please don’t forget to stop by Sherrie‘s blog as well to send some love and hugs her way. ♥

Thanks for visiting.  🙂

thanks

Hi everyone.  🙂

Today I have another sample from Paper Smooches‘ latest release.  I’ve used new Frame 2 Die along with Twiggy Florets (free with a $60 retail purchase through April 30).

thanks-500

The frame was cut from Real Wood Thick Cherry ‘paper,’ a long-ago gift from my sweet friend, Carole.  The flowers and pot were stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers. To add a bit of detail, I drew a dot/dash border using a Copic 0.3 black multiliner.

thanks-CUTo help the sentiment stand out against the patterned paper, it was clear embossed after being stamped in black.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I’ll be back tomorrow!  🙂

Additional supplies/info: Copic markers (E08, E09, BG57, Y21, W00, W1), enamel dots, Real Wood Thick Cherry paper (retired) by Creative Imagination, My Mind’s Eye Happy Day (6×6), clear embossing powder.  Finished size 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.

high five

Hi everyone.  I’m back today with another sample using one of Paper Smooches‘ latest releases, Hip Hands. This super fun set comes with two sizes of hands, rings and nails to embellish, thumbprints, little faces and more. It’s seriously cute.  🙂

High-Five-500

I used the smaller hand, heart and two sentiments along with “you rock” from Knick Knacks.

Copics on Kraft, a tutorial

Hi everyone!  I’ve just returned from a fabulous vacation where I had lots of time to relax, reflect and refresh. Everyone needs to get away from time to time.  For me, the timing was perfect. 🙂

On the Craftsy Blog today I have a tutorial for coloring with Copics on Kraft.  I used Blossoming Buds by Paper Smooches.

I hope you’ll check it out.  🙂

happy birthday

Today I have a super quick and easy birthday card to share using Paper Smooches‘ new Happy Birthday Word die.

Happy-Birthday-gold-500

“Happy birthday” cuts in one piece.  No fuss, no muss.  🙂  I used one of the flowers from Twiggy Florets to create a subtle background, dotting the center of each with an opaque white pen.  The tiny bit of patterned paper peeking out from beneath the white panel adds just enough contrast with a pop of color.
