Hoopy Birthday! KKS, Day 2

Ready to see another preview of Kraftin Kimmie‘s May 20 release?  Today the team is sharing samples of Cheryl Alger’s new set, Lulu on the Move.  The image I’ve used today is right up my daughter’s alley as she’s a hoola-hoop champion.    🙂

Lulu on the Move comes with three sweet images and six coordinating sentiments.

She’s just so cute! 🙂

You can find direct links to more samples using this cute set HERE.  Don’t forget to leave comments as you look because you know one lucky stamper is going to receive a free Lulu on the Move set, just for commenting!

Thanks for visiting!  Have a great day!

You’re Appreciated Teacher Gift Set

We have another fun sketch this week with My Favorite Things.   I used this opportunity to create a card and notepad for my daughter’s teacher (who truly is appreciated).

My card and notepad were totally inspired by my fellow MFTeam mates.  I used An Apple for Teacher à la modes, Mini Scallop Edge Die-namics (along the top edge of the red patterned panel), Simply Scallops Small Die-namics (beneath the red patterned panel) and Well Worn Label Die-namics for the sentiment.

I finished the inside, leaving plenty of room for my daughter to write a short personal note.

I was especially happy with how the note pad turned out.  🙂

I used the Well Worn Label die once again, but added some tiny brads in that spot this time.   (I need to take my camera in for cleaning.  I keep getting that dark dot-on the right at the floor line- on all of pics.)  :/

Along the bottom, I used By The Letters Die-namics to create the “notes.”

You can find direct links to DT samples HERE on the MFT blog.  The info is also posted in the MFT Forum in SCS.  (Look for the most recent WSC thread numbered 72.)   And remember, if you upload your card to the SCS gallery using the keyword shown on the sketch, you will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money!  One winner is chosen at random each week.

Thanks for visiting!  Have a great day!  🙂

Happy Birthday to You! (KKS, Day 1)

It’s time to begin previews of Kraftin Kimmie Stamps‘ May 20 release!  This month we’re introducing a new line…Trinkets, designed by our very own Nicole Aspinall.  Perfect little sentiments in cute little circles.  🙂

The trinkets are made especially to fit in  1 3/8ths and 1 ¾ inch punches for quick and easy cutting.  This month we’re releasing Everyday Trinkets which covers Birthday, Thank You, Friendship and Just Because.  There are eight trinkets in each set with four of each size, and they come as both positive and negative images.

Here I’ve used the smaller of the two Happy Birthday stamps along with Cheryl Alger’s cute balloon girl from Sugar and Spice.

After stamping my trinket onto white cardstock, I colored the inside strip with a blue Copic, matted onto a red circle, then layered atop a scalloped circle using foam tape to add dimension.

You can find direct links to more samples HERE.  Be sure to leave comments as you look because one lucky stamper will receive the Everyday Trinkets set free, just for commenting.  🙂

Thanks for visiting!  Have a great day!

Stamp Sale, with Pics!

I’ve been cleaning/purging.  🙂

Even though I love these stamps, I don’t have time to use them, and it’s pointless for them to just sit here.  Some are old, some are new (and many are unused).

See the pages above my blog header.  There are three.  (I fit as much on one page as I dared.)

Page 1: Stampin’ Up!, Greeting Farm, Sugar Nellie, Unity, Papertrey Ink, and a bit of Cornish Heritage Farms

Page 2: A Muse Artstamps, Stampendous, Stamps by Judith, Starving Artistamps, Whiff of Joy, Stampavie, Miscellaneous

All Aboard

A while ago my friend, Diane, sent me the cutest “tent card” (here).  I liked it so much, I kept it over my desk so I’d remember to try one myself.  Finally, I did.  🙂    (Directions can be found here.)

I used All Aboard, one of Taylored Expressions newest releases from the Apple Doodle Ink line.  If only this set had been around when my son was small.  Oh wait, I wasn’t stamping then.  Never mind.  I’m glad, anyway, that’s it’s available now as it’s just sooo cute.   🙂

After coloring the train and engineer with Copics, I cut out each and adhered.  I created some “grass” from green patterned paper to place beneath the engineer so it wouldn’t look like he was floating inside the window.

All circles were die-cut using Spellbinders Nestabilities.

Here’s a side view.  The way the “brace” folds, the card lies perfectly flat for mailing.  I love this technique (and I’m not a “technque-y kind of stamper…at all).

On the back, I added a simple pocket (as Diane did).  I stamped one of the many sentiments from the set onto a tag, leaving room for a short personal note then tucked the tag into the pocket.

Thanks for visiting! And Happy Mother’s Day!  🙂

Stamps:  TE “All Aboard” (Apple Doodle Ink)   Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black   Paper:  The Paper Cut Hot Fudge, X-Press It Blending Card, October Afternoon Sasparilla (8×8)   Accessories:  Copic markers (E50, E51, E31, R20, B93, B95, B97, R24, R29, R59, E33, E57, W5), Spellbinders Nestabilities, The Twinery Marachino twine, Copic 0.25 black Multi-liner (to add “stitches” around tag edges).  Finished size 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″.

Friends to the Finish

It’s time for another challenge with Kraftin Kimmie! This week was a challenge for me, indeed.  Alice has asked us to create a one-layer card.  I’m not sure I’ve ever done this.  And I was uncertain I’d be able to even pull it off, but I wanted to give it a whirl.

This week I’ve used Carole from the Moonlight Whispers collection. (Currently not listed on the site.)

Since I didn’t want the color to bleed through, I used the thickest cardstock I had on hand, Couture “One Sheet Wonder.” While my Copics did not bleed through to the back, it was a bit tricky blending the darker colors on the thicker, coated paper.

After stamping and coloring, I used a Copic Multi-liner (0.25) to create the stripes, then filled them in with markers.  I added just a wee bit of pattern on the shirt.  The red dots are adhesive, so no messy brad prongs go through to the inside.  Whew.  I did it.   🙂

thinking of you

It’s time for another sketch with My Favorite Things!  Like last week, I am taking advantage of the sketch, using it this time for a Mother’s Day card.  🙂

I just received my order of new My Mind’s Eye papers.  (Afterall, I was running low, you know. Ha!)  Their Indie Chic “Citron” collection perfectly fit my need for southwestern colors.

I used Inspired by Flowers 4, Circle STAX 1 & 2 Die-namics (using 1 and 2 provides the perfect edge for matting), and the little tab on the upper right was die-cut using Mini-Tabs Foursome Die-namics.

Since I love this flower so much, I decided to use it again.  (I used it here in a similar way.)    After stamping and coloring the flower with Copics, I stamped and colored again, cut it out and adhered over the first using foam tape.  The end of the cut out flower tucked neatly behind my sentiment.

On the inside, I used a sentiment from Clearly Sentimental about Mothers and a flourish from Finishing Flourishes (stamped using Ranger’s Antique Linen Distress ink, which I also used to sponge around all of the cream panel edges).

You can find direct links to DT samples HERE on the MFT blog.  The info is also posted in the MFT Forum in SCS.  (Look for the most recent WSC thread numbered 71.)   And remember, if you upload your card to the SCS gallery using the keyword shown on the sketch, you will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money!  One winner is chosen at random each week.

greetings earthling

Hi everyone!  I’m back today to share another sample using Far Out, from Taylored Expressions‘ Embracing Grace line.

I just adore the robots in this set.  🙂

After coloring with Copics, I stamped the the square body a second time, colored and cut it out.  Then I popped it up using foam tape.

Along the left side, I adhered a strip of Sprockets Border Taylored Die using tiny silver brads.

I attached my little greeting tag by looping the string around the tag (as usual) but then tucking it beneath the brad before pulling taut.

Thanks for visiting today!  I’ll be back soon with…something.  I’m not sure what. 🙂  Happy Sunday!

Thank you, Mom

Hi everyone!  It’s time for another challenge with Kraftin Kimmie! This week Cheryl has challenged us to create a card for Mom.  Perfect!  🙂

I chose to use Butterflies Flutter By illustrated by Cheryl Alger.  I love the vintage feel of this image.  So cute.  🙂  The “Thank You” is from Everyday Sentiments.

After coloring with Copics, I added dots of Copic Opaque White using the tip of a toothpick.  Lastly, I added some distressing and bits of stitching.

On the inside, I completed the sentiment using a partial phrase from Thankful Sentiments (currently not listed on the site).

After coloring my bots with Copics, I cut them out, inserted tiny brads and dotted over the eyes with a clear 3-d glaze pen.

On the inside, I stamped an additional image and sentiment from the set and added three smaller gears from Sprockets Border Taylored Die.  (You can easily cut each gear from the strip for individual use.)
