à la modes, Preview 2

Hi everyone.  The My Favorite Things team is back today to share samples using the second new à la modes set, Take Time.

Time to Get Together

I love the different sentiment options with this set.  There is “Take Time for Yourself” and then “Time to” with three possible endings.  I chose “Get Together.”

I colored with Copics, added some ground shading with pencils and then popped up my sentiment, centered over the largest of the three flowers from MFT’s Perfect Petal Trio Die-namics.

The sentiment I used on the inside is from yesterday’s previewed set, Here’s the Story.

Be sure to check out Kim’s blog (HERE) after 11 a.m. EST for direct links to more DT samples using Take Time.

Both of the new à la modes sets will be available tonight at 10 p.m. EST along with the WTG VIP package.  I’ll be back tonight at that same time for the Release Hop & Shop!  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

à la modes, Preview 1

Can you believe it’s already time to preview the next round of à la modes?  I feel like we just did that.  Time is a-flyin’!

My Favorite Things is releasing two more fun à la modes sets, along with the WTG VIP package tomorrow, Tuesday, November 16 at 10 p.m. EST.   Today the team is sharing samples of Here’s The Story.

Here’s the Story…

I stamped my reading girl onto an MFT cream Perfect Paper Panel, colored her and cut out the image.

Along the bottom of my card, I used MFT’s Die-namics Little Open Scallop Strip border, trimming the top edge for a thinner border.

The paper I used is from Graphic 45’s Hallowe’en in Wonderland.   I find it so easy to ignore paper collections once the specific holiday has passed, but really, so many of the patterns can be used for other projects.    I try to use what I can when I can.  🙂

On the inside, I stamped a portion of the image in the corner and left the rest of the area blank for a personal note.

For a list of direct links to more design team samples using this set, please check out Kim’s blog HERE after 11 a.m. EST.  I’ll be back tomorrow!  Have a great day!  🙂

Stamps:  My Favorite Things “Here’s the Story” (à la modes)    Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, VersaMagic Wheat   Paper: Papertrey True Black, MFT cream Perfect Paper Panel, Graphic 45 Hallowe’en in Wonderland (8×8) “Jabberwocky,” “Uncommon Nonsense” and “Hallowe’en in Wonderland”  Accessories:  Copic markers (E000, E00, E13, E17, E31, E33, BV04, G94, G99, R59), Prismacolor pencils,  MFT Die-namics Little Open Scallop border, ribbon, sponge, Michaels mini , Spare Parts paper clip by Paper Studio.  Finished size 4 3/4″ x 4 3/4″.

It’s KRAFTY TIME!

Today’s the day!  All of the cute Kraftin Kimmie  images you’ve seen over the last few days are now available!   Annie’s KRAFTY GIRLS — The Krafty Stamper, Annie the Artist, Mona the Seamstress, Natalie the Knitter, Lavender the Quilter and Sabrina the Spinner!  Each one comes with it’s own matching accessory stamp and a bonus coordinating sentiment!  And Steven Leary is back with Miles and pals — Miles on Ice, Miles and Winter Friends, Skating Polar Pal, Skiing Miles and Mice Angels.   (Two of them come with sentiments too.)

As in previous months, Gimme Kimmie’s Kits are available, one of Annie’s images, one of Steven’s.  If you need every image in one of the collections, they’re only one click away.  And they’re available at a discount.

If you want to start at the beginning of the hop (which I hope you will because I’m just about at the end of the list), head on over to the Krafty Blog.  As you hop from blog to blog, be sure to leave a comment at each and every stop because some lucky stampers will win packages of stamps from the new release!!

Let’s Get Krafty

This is my favorite image of the new release, The Krafty Stamper.  See, that’s how I look after working on sneaky peeks…I’m happy (usually) but my eyes are big and kind of glassy. lol.  And those big stacks of papers?  They would actually be all over the place in one big mess on my table.

After coloring with my markers, I paper-pieced the tablecloth then added some shading with markers and pencils.  The little sign/sentiment is tacked to the table with tiny brads.

For the layout, I used this week’s CPS Sketch.  I decided not to add embellishments because my papers are kind of busy and the image is rather large.

Your next stop along the hop is with Twisty Artist Extraordinaire ANNIE RODRIGUE.  🙂

Thanks so very much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Stamps:  Kraftin Kimmie “The Krafty Stamper”   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black  Paper:  Papertrey Ink Dark Chocolate, Vintage Cream, Echo Park Life is Good “Brown Floral,” “Simple Stripes” and “Seeing Spots”  Accessories: Copic markers, Prismacolor pencils, Creative Memories circle cutter, Michaels mini brads, dimensional boosters.  Finished size 5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″.

Krafty Previews, Day 3 and a Challenge

Hello.  This is the last day of previews of Kraftin Kimmie‘s November release, but it’s also Saturday and that means Challenge Day!  This week Krista has challenged us to use funky fibers on our cards–fun ribbons, yarns, cord, twine etc.  In all honesty, I did find some funky fibers in my stash.  I don’t know WHY I have them.  (Jody must have sent them to me.  Ha!)  I just couldn’t bring myself to use them.  I really don’t know what to do with funky fibers.  I think linen thread is about as funky as I get.  (I know. Boring.)

Knit Happens

This is Natalie the Knitter.  According to my daughter, she is knitting her own hair.  Apparently I didn’t give the yarn color much thought.  I just wanted it to match the paper.  I tried to add a bit of “blonde” to Natalie’s hair but I don’t think there’s enough of a difference.  So in addition to my not-so-funky fibers, I have a girl who’s knitting her own funky fibers–her hair.  Lol.   **sigh**

Once my image was colored, I stitched and tied the sentiment pieces and added tiny brads to the ends of the knitting needles.

You can see more November previews and samples using funky fibers HERE on the Krafty Blog.  And as always, if you’d like to play along, please post a link to your creation on the Krafty Blog for your chance to win a free Mona the Seamstress image from the new release!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I’ll be back tomorrow (or very late tonight) with the November Krafty Release Hop!  (I saved my favorite image and sample for last!)  🙂  Have a great day!

Stamps:  Kraftin Kimmie “Natalie the Knitter”   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black  Paper:  Papertrey Ink Dark Chocolate, Vintage Cream, Basic Grey Pyrus 6×6 paper pad  Accessories: Copic markers (E000, E00, E08, E13, E17, E18, Y21, YR23, YR24, B93, B95, B97, B0000, YR0000), Spellbinders Nestabilities, Michael’s mini-brads, corner rounder punch, linen thread.  Finished size 5″ x 5″.

Krafty Previews, Day 2

Hello again.  🙂  It’s Day 2 of previews with Kraftin Kimmie‘s November releases.

My sample today uses Annie the Painter.

Color Me Happy!

Annie comes with a paintbrush accessory stamp and the sentiment I’ve used here.  Had I been feeling a bit more creative, I would have come up with something other than blobs of ink on the canvas.   Something to think about the next time.  🙂

For direct links to more previews, please check the Krafty Blog HERE

New images will be available Sunday, November 14th at 1 a.m. EST.  🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Stamps:  Kraftin Kimmie “Annie the Painter”   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black  Paper:  Prism Rose Dark, Papertrey Ink Vintage Cream, Jillibean Soup Pasta Fagioli “Clove Fresh Garlic” and “Meatballs”  Accessories: Copic markers (E000, E00, E13, E17, E18, E31, E33, E35, R20, R59, R27, Y21, YG03, YG05), Prismacolor pencils, Doodlebug Limeade jewels, ribbon, My Favorite Things Open Scallop Die-namics border die, dimensional boosters.  Finished size 5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″.

Krafty Previews, Day 1

Hi everyone!   It’s time to begin sharing samples of Kraftin Kimmie‘s November releases!  You know how much I love the Twisty Girls.  Well, this month they’re “crafting” up a storm.   Each image comes with it’s very own sentiment as well as one or two accessory stamps.  Bonus!

You’re Sew Nice!

This is Lavender the Quilter.  She comes with two accessory stamps (a pin cushion and thimble) and the sentiment “You’re Sew Sweet.”  (The sentiment I used here comes with Sabrina the Spinner.)

I spotted the “buttony-string combo” the other day on a Debbie Olson masterpiece. (Everything she creates is a masterpiece, you know.  🙂 )  So mine is copied, exactly, from hers.  The next time I’ll try to be more independent.  🙂

If you’d like to see more November Krafty samples, please check out the Krafty Blog HERE for direct links.  The new images will be available on Sunday, November 14th, 1 a.m. EST.

I’ll be back tomorrow with another!  Thanks SO much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Stamps:  Kraftin Kimmie “Lavendar the Quilter” and sentiment from “Sabrina the Spinner“  Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black  Paper:  Papertrey Ink Vintage Cream, Crate Paper Restoration Collection 6×6 paper pad  Accessories: Copic markers (E000, E00, E31, E33, E35, E37, YR23, YR24, BG000, BG01, BG05, R20, R22, R27, YG93, BG0000, W00, W1, W3), Prismacolor pencils, buttons/string, Spare Parts trim by Paper Studio, sewing machine.  Finished size 5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″.

MFT’s Greatest Hits — Pure Innocence

This week with My Favorite Things we’re celebrating Pure Innocence Greatest Hits.  As part of the event, we have a special deal for you.  🙂   From November 9 through November 11, all orders over $30 will receive free budget shipping using code BUDGETFREE.  The code will reduce your order by the cost of budget shipping, which is $3.45.  International customers may also use the code for a discount based on the US budget shipping cost, making international budget shipping only $2!   Please note that to qualify for budget shipping, your order must contain ONLY stamps and/or Die-namics dies.  If your order contains any other products, you may use the code, but must choose the appropriate shipping method, which will leave you with a small shipping charge of $1.50 (for US customers).

Let it Snow

I have so many favorites in the Pure Innocence line, it was hard to choose one.  I finally decided on  Flurry of Love.  Here I’ve paired her with Crate Paper’s Snow Day Collection.

I created the banner using MFT’s new Die-namics Banner Strip Die & Stamp Set following Jody’s wonderful tutorial here.

I cut out the tree from one of the patterned papers, separating the trunk from the tree and the pot.  The bottom of the tree and the pot are popped up on foam boosters, as is the girl.

You can see her better here.  After coloring with markers, I added just a bit of shading with pencils.

On the inside, I stamped the girl and one of the sentiments from the set.

Be sure to pop over to Kim’s blog after 11 a.m. EST for direct links to other participating DT.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

You’ve Been Naughty but Happy Birthday Anyway

I’m just teasing with my post title.  I have a couple things to share today but they are in no way related other than the fact that they both use My Favorite Things’ Die-namics Game Night Spinner and Stamp Set duo and new You Spin Me Additions.  I LOVE this die with the coordinating sets!  So much fun!

You’ve Been Naughty

This first project includes a card and matching “treat” box.  (I really like the little jingle bell brads!  I found them in a Hobby Lobby on my way home from Disney!)

Chalk inks are the best choice for stamping solid images with acrylic stamps.  But I don’t have very many so stamping the inside pieces of the wheel was a bit of a challenge for me.  After some trial and error, I was able to get a decent impression using my Mementos.   But now I’m on a mission to find more chalks.  I found a great new website the other day that lists cost comparison of ink types among different suppliers.  InkPads.net is a great resource.  On their left sidebar, you can choose the different brands to see a list of various suppliers and prices.    I didn’t purchase any yet, but I found distress inks for a great price at a camera store of all places.  Who would have thought?  So check it out!

Since the spinner landed on “naughty,” the recipient of this card is getting coal (as stated on the inside of  my card).

And here’s the perfect little box to hold the coal.  I used Jen’s Full Circle Treat Box template found here.    The actual template cuts a smaller box than I wanted so using my Cricut and Make the Cut software (many thanks to a very generous friend 🙂 and found here on Jody’s left side bar), I simply selected the entire template (all pieces at once) and dragged a little arrow in one of the corners until the top circle was the size of the spinner.  I wasn’t sure it would work, but it did!  YAY!  I love when things are easy.  So I cut my larger treat box, assembled another spinner and WA-LA.  Done.  🙂

I decided to make another spinner card for my son’s birthday.

Look Who’s Turning 11

I like how this turned out but I didn’t realize until now that I placed two party hats side by side.  GASP! (lol)  I should not have done that.  But my son didn’t notice (and wouldn’t care) so it’s fine.

On the inside I stamped a couple more sentiments while leaving plenty of room for all of us to sign.

I’ll be back tomorrow with MFT’s Greatest Hits.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

How Distressing

Hi everyone.  This week with Kraftin Kimmie, Tara has challenged us to use distressing on our cards.  It’s been quite a while since I’ve done this, and it used to be one of my favorite techniques so I was happy to revisit it.  🙂

Watch It!

It’s also been a while since I pulled out one of my all-time favorite Kimmie images, Drucilla.  She’s so sweet yet…not.  🙂

After coloring her with markers, I added some shading (dirt) to her dress (she’s been playing outside after all) with pencils and added tiny brads for pin heads.  I distressed the edges and added lots of stitching.

I plucked the little green things from the flower centers, scrunched the flowers and attached each with buttons and string.

To see more design team samples, you can check out the Krafty Blog HERE.  If you’d like to play along, please post a link to your creation on the Krafty Blog for your chance to win a free stamp from Kraftin Kimmie!

Also, November previews begin on Thursday!

Thanks for ALL the suggestions yesterday on the coffee! That was a big help!  Some flavors were mentioned that I’m very eager to track down.  And I’ve created an account with Big Cat and started filling my cart.  I like that you can create your own assortment!   🙂

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Santa was Here (a little early)

Hello.  🙂

I was hoping to post a birthday card for my son today (he’s now 11) but he’s been home with strep and I haven’t had a chance to make a card.  Poor kid.  I think this morning I’ll tie a ribbon around his antibiotic, take a picture and sing.  🙁

Anyway, I’ll quickly let you know I made my decision about the brewer.  This pretty baby now graces my countertop:

Actually, I saw it in Costco.  Great price.  Now I’m on a mission to find the coffee I like.

I tried Newman’s Special Blend.  Shocked   If I had chest hair, it would have been zinging into the tightest of curls. Wow, that is strong stuff.  I tried Caribou.  It was good but their coffee always seems to bother my stomach a bit.  I liked the Donut Shop and I LOVE Chai Latte as a treat.  (Definately not a morning drink though.)  So far I think my fave is Tully’s Kona Blend.  Maybe it didn’t seem as strong as Newman’s because I used flavored cream?

So what’s your favorite?  Are there flavored coffees that are especially tasty?  How about a decaf or half-caf?  I wish you could pick one of this, two of that,  just as a first-time try.  I know you can order assortments from the Keurig website, but I don’t know which one (or two).  There are so many choices, it’s overwhelming.  I still need to try my Chock Full o’ Nuts (lol) in My K-cup too.

Anyway, I’m off to care for my little sickie.  🙁  Thanks for helping me to make my decision.  Now please help me with what to put in it.  🙂

Have a great day!
