Sorry I was Late

   MFTSIWL

When I first saw this set, I knew without a doubt which sentiment I’d be using first.  When my kids were small(er) and we’d be scrambling to get in the car, buckling car seats, etc., I always used to say “We’re late, we’re late…for a very important date.”  They’d giggle and cooperate.   It still works…sometimes.

It’s hard to see in the photo, but I popped up the bottom edge of Alice’s apron.  I used a Making Memories button to simulate a door knob and I drew in the little key hole.

MFTSIWLINI like to leave lots of room on the inside of my cards for personal notes so I stamped the remainder of the sentiment and used some of the ‘already cut’ pieces of patterned paper to “fancy it up” just a bit.

Your next stop along the hop is with JODY!  I’m sure she has something totally fab to share!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Happy hopping and shopping!

You Brighten My Day

   KKYBMD

Here I’ve used Florence…and some really bright colors which I normally do not use.  I like them though.  🙂

KKYBMDCUI stamped her onto cream cardstock, colored with Copics and then cut her out and adhered her over my assembled panel.

I used a Fiskars “wave” texture plate on the blue cardstock then sponged over with vanilla craft ink to help the “waves” stand out a bit.

I also placed pop dots beneath the sign and Florence’s head to a add little more dimension.

Your next stop along the hop is with TARA and her daughter HANNAH!   (What a fab team!)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!  And happy hopping!  🙂

Kraftin’ Kimmie Previews, Day 2

Hi everyone!  I’m back today with another sample from Kraftin’ Kimmie’s May release.  I decided to make another card with Eleanor…and a sun.  I hope you don’t mind.  (She’s just so pretty…and it is a summer/swim theme.)  🙂

A Warm Hello

      KKAWH

Once again I paper-pieced Eleanor’s suit. This time I wanted white stripes so to achieve that look, I cut out the dotted parts and omitted KKAWHCUthe striped parts.

I added a tiny gold rhinestone to her suit and some itty-bitty eyelashes in the corner of her eye.

Once I was finished, I thought everything still looked kind of plain, so I added some zig-zag here, some zig-zag there.

I’m going to try to be back tomorrow with another sample but I’m having “creativity issues” at the moment.  We’ll see.  If not, I will definately be back early Sunday morning for Kimmie’s May release hop!

You can find links to more design team samples HERE.

Thanks so much for visiting!  Have a great day!

Kraftin’ Kimmie Previews, Day 1

Today the Krafty Team begins previews of Kraftin’ Kimmie’s May releases…and they are HOT! This month Annie has created some adorable summer characters in vintage style suits.  It’s been so much fun playing with them.

Meet Eleanor and Jack (along with new Beachy Sentiments)  🙂

Hey Hot Stuff!

   KKHHS

I didn’t originally intend to cut out the images, but I dropped a marker on the paper, leaving a great big blue blob where I didn’t want one.

KKHHSCUAfter inking Jack, I used a Q-tip to remove the ink from the dots of his eyes, stamped him then added new dots just a tad more to the left so he’s “beaming” at Eleanor.

Once the images were assembled, I inserted three brads, one in each flower center on Eleanor’s cap and I gave her a tiny pearl earring.

You can find links on the Krafty blog to other design team samples each day leading up to Kimmie’s release on Sunday, May 16th.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Happy Cake and Candle Day

Hello.  🙂

The winner of MFT’s Best Medicine stamp set is:

        RNG1

And #43 is Tracey of Tray’s Spot.   Congrats, Tracy!  I’ll be emailing you shortly!  🙂

Happy Birthday

   CHFHBFB

I couldn’t resist this new Birthday Surprise set from Cornish Heritage Farms.  I love this flaming cupcake.  There are several other cute images CHFFCCCUas well… a little  mouse popping out of a cupcake, a bunny jumping over a lit candle in a cupcake, adorable.

After coloring the image with markers, I used a black 3-d glaze pen over the bunny’s eyes and then a clear glaze pen over the drippy parts of the candles, the buckles on the bunny’s coat and boots and the puddles of water.

I finished the inside simply by using a scrap of the patterned paper (new Max & Whiskers by Basic Grey from Jacksonbelle Embellishments).  The sentiment is from CHF’s Birthday Centers set.

             CHFBFBIN

I’ll be back later this afternoon to post the winner of MFT’s Best Medicine stamp set.  And tomorrow morning the previews begin of Kraftin’ Kimmie’s new May releases!  They are FUN!  🙂

Do You Need a Nurse? I Have an Extra.

Hello.  🙂

I have another cute little Pure Innocence nurse to share today.  Literally, I do.  I have an extra set of My Favorite Things’ new Best Medicine as I’ve used here.  It’s a designer sample so there is no packaging, but it’s the cute little nurse with three sentiments, unused.  (I have my own.)  Leave a comment on this post and I’ll randomly select a winner Wednesday afternoon.  🙂

Get Well Soon

    MFTOFP

I used one of Jen’s recent SFYTT.  I shortened one of the panels but maybe she won’t notice.  🙂  I really like this sketch though.

The paper is new Thrift Shop by October Afternoon from Jacksonbelle Embellishments.

Along the bottom I’ve used MFT’s new Scalloped Scallops Die-namics border die.  (Love it!)

For a quick finish on the inside, I stamped only the little first aid pail and left lots of room for some get well wishes.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Don’t forget to leave a comment for a chance to get this cute set for free!

Stamps:  My Favorite Things “Best Medicine” (Pure Innocence)  Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black  Cardstock: Prism Classic Red, MFT cream Perfect Paper Panel  Patterned Paper:  October Afternoon Thrift Shop 8×8 paper pad  Accessories: Copic markers (E000, E00, E33, E35, E50, B000, BG01, R20, R46, Y0000, W1, W3), MFT Scalloped Scallops Die-namics, Stampin’ Up mini clip, gingham ribbon, dimensional boosters, sewing machine.  Finished size 5 ½” x 5 ½”.

I Scream, You Scream

Hi everyone.  🙂  This week with Kraftin’ Kimmie we’re all screaming for ice cream.  Not really.  Well, maybe.  But Vicki has challenged us to use Neopolitan colors–chocolate, strawberry and vanilla.   I didn’t realize until now that my last post used basically those same colors.  Oh well.  I like them.

A Little Birdie Told Me

    KKLBTM

Here I’ve used Small Talk from KK’s Cindy & Mindy line.  My paper is Basic Grey’s  new Capella (and it’s on sale).  So pretty.

If you’d like to play along and have a chance to win a free Josephine stamp, post a link to your card on the Krafty Challenge blog HERE.

Previews of Kimmie’s May release start next week!!  I think you’ll like them.  🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Just Because

Hi everyone.  🙂  I have a card I thought I should post before I totally forget about it.  (And before it gets lost in the mess that is my stamp room.  It’s getting scary…)

Just Because

    ofp

This is another of the images sent to me by Fabulously Talented Tammi.  If you haven’t been by to see her blog (and who hasn’t, right?), beware.  She’ll make you want every single thing she uses.  I know.

I actually colored this image while on vacation a few months ago.  This is Beary Big Hugs from Belles ‘n Whistles.  Because the image was stamped on white cardstock and I used warmer tones of patterned paper, I sponged all the edges (rather heavily) with VersaMagic Wheat chalk ink.  The image itself was colored with Copics.

I’ll be back Saturday morning!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Friendship is the Best Medicine

       MFTFBM

Isn’t she just too cute?  🙂  I layered MFT’s Jumbo Scallop Die-namics along the bottom, placing a small pop dot beneath each scallop on the upper layer.

After coloring the girl with markers, I paper-pieced her little gingham dress, then popped up her clipboard and the bottom edge of her apron.

MFTFBMIN

I used one of the three cute sentiments that comes along with the set to finish the inside.

All of the new sets and products are available right here, right now.  But first, but sure to head on over to see what fabulousness JODY has to share.  🙂

MFT May Previews, Day 4

Today the My Favorite Things team is previewing three more of the May releases, Heart on a String (Jolinee), Clearly Sentimental about Fathers and the set I’ve used here, Meet Emma & Wyatt.

I Wanna Hold Your Hand

   MFTGGG

I paper-pieced Emma’s dress, added a tiny red brad in the flower in her hair, dotted her eyes with a black 3-d glaze pen and colored the remainder of the images with markers and pencils.

Along the bottom I used MFT’s new Jumbo Scallop Die-namics.

For just a wee bit of almost unrecognizable fun, I created the ribbon panel so that when moved to the right, Emma shyly slides a little closer to Wyatt.  🙂

   MFTGGG2

Wyatt is adhered to the card front with pop dots, and Emma is attached to the sliding piece.  To keep the band in the right spot, I created a “track”, placing a thin row of dimensional tape across the dotted panels.  The pieces behind Wyatt are adhered to the dotted paper and the back of Wyatt while the tape behind Emma is only adhered to the dotted paper.

And here’s the inside:    MFTGGGIN

NOW they are holding hands.  🙂

Again I placed a red brad in Emma’s hair flower, dotted her eyes with the gel pen and used the Jumbo Scallop Die-namics die across the bottom.

There is one more day of previews (tomorrow) with the May release tomorrow night at 10 p.m. EST.  All of the new sets, along with the new Die-namics dies and other fun products will be available then!

Be sure to check Kim’s blog HERE after 11 a.m. for direct links to more design team samples!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!
