MFT May Previews, Day 3

Hi everyone!  Today the My Favorite Things team is sharing samples of three new Pure Innocence releases available for purchase May 5th, Beach Bum, Best Medicine and Lather, Rinse, Repeat.

Baby Yourself

   MFTBY

Here I’ve used Lather, Rinse, Repeat.  I paper-pieced the tub, sponge, bubbles and cap.  The bubbles and PI girl were cut out as one piece.  I placed foam boosters beneath the bottom edge of the bubbles but adhered the other parts directly to the striped paper.

MFTBYCU2I used a clear 3-d glaze pen to add some dimension and shine to the bubbles, cap and sponge as well as the dots on the pink patterned paper.  For the cap, I used vertical strokes with the glaze pen and when coloring the bubbles, I colored in little circles, creating the perfect results (I think).  🙂

Here’s the inside:

MFT May Previews, Day 2

Hello again.  🙂

Today the My Favorite Things design team is sharing previews of two more new sets to be released May 5th, 10 p.m. EST, Fred Bear Has a Birthday and Little Loveosaurus.  I couldn’t resist the dino.  🙂

RAWR RAWR RAWR!

I stamped onto an MFT cream Perfect Paper Panel, colored the little guy with Copics and the ground with pencils.  To help the teeth appear brighter, I lightly outlined them with a light gray marker and then added shading with YG0000.  (I love those lightest shades of Copics.  Can’t imagine coloring without them now.)

I added the quotes around the “RAWR” and the three dots at the end so I could complete the sentiment on the inside.

To add a bit of extra “love,” I repeatedly stamped RAWR along the bottom strip.

To see more design team samples of this set along with Fred Bear Has a Birthday, please check out Kim’s blog HERE after 11 a.m. EST.  I’ll be back tomorrow with more!  🙂

A Kraftin’ Kimmie Challenge and Sale

It’s Saturday so that means it’s time for another challenge with Kraftin’ Kimmie.  Jeanne has come up with a fab layout for us this week.  You can see it here on the Challenge Blog.

Wink, Wink (for lack of a better name)

   KKPWW

I stamped Posy (from the Moonlight Whispers line) onto cream cardstock and colored her with Copics.  The ground/grass was added using my colored pencils.

At first I had planned to strictly follow the layout, but that left side just looked way too naked so I decided to add more flowers.

You can see more design team samples on the Challenge Blog.  If you’d like to play, please post a link to your card on the blog for a chance to win a free stamp from Kraftin’ Kimmie!

Now for the sale info!  To celebrate National Scrapbooking Day, Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps is having a super-sale for the whole weekend! Some of your favorite images and sentiment sets are 25-50% off through Sunday night at midnight EST!   GO!  🙂

MFT May Previews, Day 1

Today the My Favorite Things design team is sharing samples using the first two new stamp releases, Rainfall Flopsey and Clearly Sentimental about Babies.  I chose babies.  This set has some truly lovely sentiments.  I used my favorite.  🙂

The Decision to Have a Child

   MFTDTHAC

Those words are so true.

I’ve had this Anna Griffin paper forEVER and finally decided to cut it.  It’s so sweet, so “vintage.”  I bought the two patterns in blue as well so I’m prepared either way.  🙂

I die-cut the sentiment after stamping onto cream cardstock.  With the die still around the cut-out, I lightly sponged chalk ink around the edges.

I used MFT’s new Jumbo Scallop Die-namics border die (available 5/5), placing a little foam booster beneath each scallop for a bit more definition.  I used this die on the inside of my card as well (placing boosters beneath the scallops there also).

       MFTMTDIN

The sentiment on the inside of my card was taken from MFT’s Essential Sentiments set.

Be sure to check out Kim’s blog HERE after 11 a.m. EST for direct links to more design team samples.  We’ll have previews each day leading up to the big release on Wednesday, May 5th, 10 p.m. EST.
