Life is a Circus (especially in the summer)

Hi everyone! I hope your summer is going well. Mine has been crazy busy. One would think with two teens, I’d have more time to myself. Um, no. There is always something going on.

I have a fun/simple card to share today using a new to me (but “older”) stamp set by Paper Smooches – Enjoy the Show. I’ve also used a great “behind the scenes” X-Press It product you may want to try. : )

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

I stamped the image with Taylored Expressions’ Oreo hybrid ink onto X-Press It Blending Card then colored with Copic markers.  Once colored, I added a ground line using a 0.3 black Multiliner then adhered the panel to a striped background paper using an X-Press It Double-sided Tape Runner.

Copic markers – B18, E000, E00, E01, G05, G09, G28, R20, R27, R56, R59, Y19, YR23, 0.3 black Multiliner

Compared to other popular tape runners, X-Press It’s is a great buy (about 5¢ less per foot). It’s extra strong, permanent, acid and solvent free as well as heat resistant. My favorite quality though – it won’t “gum up.” You can count on a smooth application every time. I’ll definitely be adding a few of these to my next Copic order!

Thanks so much for visiting today!

THANKS a super lot

Every year I create thank you cards for our swim team Board of Directors. I thought I’d get ahead of the game this year and create the cards early. They need 16-18 so it’s not a super quick job.

Every year I use Ocean Friends, an old Cornish Heritage Farms set from the Kim Hughes Collection. Our team ‘mascot’ is a piranha so the BOD loves this fish. I thought they’d be sick of it after seven years and didn’t use it once…and they missed it.

The inside of the cards are unfinished but I stamped the fish on each envelope.

The sentiment is from a current Paper Smooches set, Many Thanks.

Special Delivery

I love making baby cards.  And it’s been quite a while.  So when my husband came home from work requesting two, I welcomed the task.

I pulled out one of my all-time fave baby sets, Baby Love, from the Kim Hughes Collection (previously by Cornish Heritage Farms).   (I’m crossing my fingers that Kim adds this set, or a variation of, to her Paper Smooches Kismet Collection.)

I did just a wee bit of coloring and pieced the little bundle.

On the inside, I adhered a scrap of the patterned paper and stamped the silhouette of the stork.  I stamped the image onto the front of the envelope as well.

Gotta love quick and easy.  🙂

For the second card I used the little giraffe from the same set.

I die-cut the patterned banner using My Favorite Things Mini Pennant Die-namics, handwrote the letters, added some quick coloring on the giraffe, whisked in some ground/grass with pencils, and dotted over the eyes with a clear glaze pen.

A simple finish to the inside.  🙂

I’m not sure which one I like best.  How about you?

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Sadly, It’s Got to Go

Hi everyone.  With the closing of Cornish Heritage Farms, I’ve decided to clear out most of my stamp sets.  I can’t use them for publication work, and there are only so many stamps I can justify keeping.  I’ve saved out my faves, but there’s still plenty that, sadly, must go.

I’ve marked everything at less than 50%.  All sets are in the original packaging.  Most are used but a few are new and uncut.

You can find my list with prices HERE (or tab above my blog header).  If you’d like anything, please email to me your list and zip code (so I can calculate postage) and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.  (“Contact Me” button beneath my photo.)  As things go, I’ll mark them as pending or delete them from the list.

Thanks!  🙂

Happy Cake and Candle Day

Hello.  🙂

The winner of MFT’s Best Medicine stamp set is:

        RNG1

And #43 is Tracey of Tray’s Spot.   Congrats, Tracy!  I’ll be emailing you shortly!  🙂

Happy Birthday

   CHFHBFB

I couldn’t resist this new Birthday Surprise set from Cornish Heritage Farms.  I love this flaming cupcake.  There are several other cute images CHFFCCCUas well… a little  mouse popping out of a cupcake, a bunny jumping over a lit candle in a cupcake, adorable.

After coloring the image with markers, I used a black 3-d glaze pen over the bunny’s eyes and then a clear glaze pen over the drippy parts of the candles, the buckles on the bunny’s coat and boots and the puddles of water.

I finished the inside simply by using a scrap of the patterned paper (new Max & Whiskers by Basic Grey from Jacksonbelle Embellishments).  The sentiment is from CHF’s Birthday Centers set.

I’ll be back later this afternoon to post the winner of MFT’s Best Medicine stamp set.  And tomorrow morning the previews begin of Kraftin’ Kimmie’s new May releases!  They are FUN!  🙂

A Quick and Easy Get Well

Hi everyone!  I have a very quick and easy card to share today.  I actually made it a while back but just never posted it here.

Caught a Bug?

           CHFCAB

I just love these germ faces from Comforting Hugs by Cornish Heritage Farms.  So funny.  🙂

I always have a really hard time with simple cards.  I admire those made by others, but when I make them, they always seem to be lacking…something.  One good thing about this one is that it will easily go through the mail.

CHFCABCUI did pop up the germ on the left.  I just couldn’t bring myself to leave everything flat.

That’s it for today.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

I prefer the phrase “Deal with it” BUT…

…it’s a REALLY cute stamp set!   I don’t often say “Suck it Up.”  And to be honest, if I’m in a bad mood and someone tells me to “Suck it up,” I get really annoyed.  But every once in a while, and if delivered in a good-humored kind of way, it can be funny.  I thought this set was super cute and I just had to have it.

Suck it Up

       CHFSIU

This is Domestic Love by Cornish Heritage Farms.  Lots of fun/quirky sayings along with vintage images.  (Would you consider “Suck it Up” quirky?  I’m calling it quirky.)

Isn’t that a cute vacuum with the little flowery bag?  Would a cute flowery vacuum entice me to vacuum more often?  Nah.  But I like it.  🙂

I’m off to get my daughter to gymnastics.  I’ve had a rather (mentally) stressful day and I need that hour to chill (plus I’m still not feeling 100%).  Hopefully it’ll be quiet in the “observation area.”

Have a good day and thanks for stopping by!

Switching Gears

Hi everyone.  🙂  I’ve switched away from the cutesy stuff for just a bit.  I have a stack of new rubber on my table that must be used.  I’m determined.  This Horse and Rider image by Cornish Heritage Farms was at the top of the pile.

Sending Love

      CHFSLSEP

I’ve not had much exposure to horses but I’ve always loved them.  They’re so beautiful.  And so I couldn’t resist this image.

I kept the layout simple and decided to keep the color combo along those same lines.  I don’t often pair brown with black, but I think it works here.   The gingham paper is from “Grandma’s Christmas Soup” by Jillibean Soup.  This particular pattern is Can Beef Consomme’.  Isn’t that funny?

I like a little thickness to my cards so the entire front panel (from the black up) is raised on dimensional boosters.

I’m off to get two kids ready for school.  They’re both complaining that they don’t want to go so I’m sure we’ll get our day off to a great start.  **eye roll**

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Double digits…already

Happy birthday to my little guy…who isn’t so little any more.  🙁

Look Who’s Turning 10

     CHFTT

Last night we finished most of his homework so hopefully he won’t have to spend too much time on that tonight.  I have balloons tied to the chairs, and his birthday dinner planned:  Mini (tiny) muffin-sized meatloaves (with no ketchup), Pokemon macaroni and cheese, green beans and dessert, of course.  He didn’t pick the green beans but there has to be a vegetable in there somewhere, right?  (I won’t be surprised at all if Dad comes home with a take-out bag from somewhere.  He thinks anything other than a hamburger is a waste of ground beef.  And the Pokemon mac n’ cheese?  Let’s just say that’s not his favorite either.  But when HIS birthday rolls around in a couple weeks, HE can choose what HE wants.   Part of MY entertainment for the evening is seeing if he will eat.  lol.)

I still have gifts to wrap so I better get to it.  Have a great day, and thanks for stopping by!

Welcome Baby

    CHF WBE

My cards usually take hours…sometimes even days (sadly, I’m not kidding) but this one came together very quickly.  And I think it’s really cute (if I may say so).  I added a tiny dot to the elephant’s eye using a black 3-d glaze pen.  It adds just a touch more interest to the card, I think.

I hope you’re able to enjoy some crafting time on Saturday…or today…or tomorrow.  🙂
