A New Moon in the A.M.

“Hello,” Edward so politely said to Bella in Biology after his long absence.  “I’m Edward Cullen.”  So politely spoken after previously looking at her like she lived in a dumpster.  You have to have his voice in your head for that to be funny.  (I’ve only seen Twilight five or six times so I hear it pretty clearly. lol.)

Hello

        GFE3

I had absolutely no interest in reading about vampires and/or werewolves.  I’m more of a political thriller kind of gal…David Baldacci and the like (LOVE him).  But my neighbor talked me into it… my neighbor who has GFECUread the Twilight series four times (maybe five) and has both paperback and hardback.  (She’ll only lend out the paperbacks.  She’s so funny.)  So this morning I’m off to the movies with her and several other friends (and a box of kleenex…not because I’ll cry but because I’m still super-stuffy).

I had a really hard time capturing the sparkles here, but I used an orange glitter pen on Edward’s hair.  I couldn’t bring myself to make his skin sparkly (lol), but I thought a little shine in his hair was ok.

I’m off!  🙂  Thanks for stopping by!  I’ll be back tomorrow with a Kraftin’ Kimmie card.  🙂  Have a great day!

My Little To-Do Notebook

Hi everyone.  I have another little altered notebook to share today.

One Day at a Time    GFODAAT

I picked up a couple of these little “travel-themed” note pads at Michaels for $1 each.  They are SUPER fast to alter.  The notepad is only 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ so it’s the perfect size for using scraps (which is what I did here).   A small strip of the striped patterned paper was the perfect size for covering the pen.

I colored and cut out The Greeting Farm’s Laundry image, adhering it over a bit of crocheted trim (gift from my friend, Jody).

The sentiment, which I think is the perfect companion to this image, is part of the Encouragement Expressions set by Cornish Heritage Farms.

This was so quick and easy to alter.  I may go back and get a few more.   🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

Stamps:  The Greeting Farm “HG Laundry”, Cornish Heritage Farms “Encouragement Expressions” (Mona Lisa Moments)   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black   Cardstock: Prism Natural Smooth   Patterned Paper: Cosmo Cricket Early Bird Mini Deck   Accessories:  Michael’s note pad, Copic markers (E000, E00, E21, E31, E33, E35, E50, YR23, YR31, YG63, BG09, BG01, BG0000, R14, R17, W1, W3), Spare Parts trim, buttons, white string, Fiskars Rotary trimmer/scallop blade, corner rounder.

An Anya Playdate

Hi everyone!  I took a moment the other day to play with some new (to me) images from The Greeting Farm.  They’re so sweet.

Missing You

   GFMYA

This is one of the “dressy” Miss Anyas.  (I keep wanting to call her “fancy” instead of “dressy.”)

I colored my Anya with Copics and used Prismacolor pencils for the ground.   I layered the flower trim over my favorite crocheted chocolate trim. (LOVE it!  You can find it here.)  I hung the sentiment from a safety pin clipped to the trims and then tied a bit of organdy through the pin.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Say it with Pizzazz

Hi everyone. 🙂

I’m filling in for Julia’s WT Challenge today at Splitcoast.  I thought it might be fun to jazz up our sentiments.  The idea is to add bling or switch out a letter or word in a sentiment with a different object.  It can be a small, subtle change or a big whammy…whichever you prefer.  🙂  Challenge info (here).

…Please put on your sunglasses…

Bringing you Sunshine

OFP

I placed a bright yellow brad in the ‘o’ of ‘you’, turning it into a little sun.

The girl’s outfit was paper-pieced with the ends of her top and scarf bent up a bit to add some dimension.

My bright paper is from Basic Grey’s June Bug line from Jacksonbelle Embellishments.  Looks like she’s sold out of it BUT she does have new Basic Grey Eerie and Eskimo Kisses, My Mind’s Eye, Prima, Making Memories, Pink Paislee and more. AND she’s having a 25% off EVERYTHING sale through Monday, October 5th!  Simply use code FALL (all caps) at checkout.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!  🙂

A Saturday “Just Sayin” (It’s been a while.)

       GFCU3

Good morning.  🙂  Well, just “morning” might be more appropriate.  Kids are arguing and screaming at one another (as usual).  Husband is off to work.  And I get to take the kids shopping for a birthday gift.  Normally, I would have done this alone but since the gift is for my son’s friend, I feel my son really should have some input as to what to give.

I always dread going shopping with my children.  Being in the vacinity of new toys, clothes, shoes, Pokemon cards and lip gloss is fine with one child, but entering that scary place with two (who scrap and squabble incessantly) is not a good thing.  It’s bad enough that they antagonize each other at home, but must it continue in public?  Apparently so.

After our last grocery trip together before school started, I stopped at Starbucks.  While I was waiting for the drinks my children got into a big argument. One breathed on the other or some such thing.  The man behind me in line was chuckling a bit (why is this always funny to others?) and reassured me that school was starting the very next week.  We got our drinks and left.  We reached the car, I let the kids in, put the groceries in the back and shut the trunk.  I could still hear the bickering so I decided to just sit on my bumper and enjoy a bit of my coffee in the relative peace of the parking lot.  Out comes the man who was behind me in Starbucks, he sees me sitting there on my bumper, hears the muffled dispute coming from inside the car and laughs again.  I just looked at him and said, “What?!”  He snickered and drove off.

I didn’t sit there long, but I had had enough.  I hope I didn’t argue with my brothers as much as my children argue with each other.   I’m sure I did though and for that, Mom, I’m sorry.

My only hope for a peaceful shopping experience this afternoon lies in the hope of someone else’s children misbehaving worse than my own.  As strange as that sounds, my kids become perfect angels when they see another boy or girl acting inappropriately and then being reprimanded.   It works like magic.

I understand.  I just don’t care.

I love this sassy Megan image from The Greeting Farm.  (I got mine from Hope Stamps Eternal but it looks like it’s currently sold out.)  It was a “must have” for me.   I’m always on the look-out for sassy sentiments and when I find a sassy image to go along with them…I’m happy.  🙂  I accidentally stamped her a little crookedly but decided it gave her a bit more of an attitude so I left her alone. (lol)  Sadly, this is the last of my brown suede flowers.

I’m off to shower.   And then torture myself buying this gift.  Hopefully I will find other moms being tortured worse than myself…not to wish a bad experience on others, but it will make my shopping experience a little more pleasant.  Just sayin’.

Stamps:  The Greeting Farm “Megan”, River City Rubber Works “I Understand”   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black; Adirondack Sandal   Cardstock:  Prism Suede Brown Dark, Natural Smooth   Patterned Paper:  Basic Grey Earth Love 6×6 paper pad   Accessories:  Copic markers (E000, E00, E33, E35, E29, YR0000, YR00, YR23, R20), Prismacolor pencils/turnpenoid, We R Memory Keepers felt flowers, buttons, natural jute string, sponge.  Finished size 5 ½” x 5 ½”.

Hey

I am totally loving these Greeting Farm images.  I don’t know why I like the hippy ones so much.  Maybe it’s my inner-self yearning to be “hip” and “cool.”  lol.  I’ve been getting my Greeting Farm images from Hope Stamps Eternal and I see that there’s a 20% off sale through Sunday, August 2nd.  WOOHOO!

Hey

     GFHey

As usual, I used Copics to color the image.  (What did I ever do before I had them???)  Over the dots of her headband and necklace, I used a GFHCUblack 3-d gel pen.   I love the result!

That gorgeous crocheted lace can be found here (along with a great deal on dimensional boosters and other sticky stuff here).

I created my flower embellishment using McGill’s Petite Petals punch.  I bent up the petals on the top flower just a bit then tied black twine through a red button, adhering the embellishment to the lace with a big glue dot.

The sentiment is clear embossed over black ink to help it stand out more on the patterned paper.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Stamps:  The Greeting Farm “Hippie Anya,” sentiment from Cornish Heritage Farms “Little Boy”  (Kim Hughes Collection)   Ink:  Adirondack Pitch Black   Cardstock:  Prism Island Mist Dark, Candle Glow Dark, Natural Smooth   Patterned Paper:  Cosmo Cricket Early Bird   Accessories:  Copic markers (E000, E00, R20, E31, E33, E35, BG49, B32, YG95, YR23, R27, B0000), black Sakura 3-d gel pen, clear embossing powder, May Arts crocheted lace, black twine, McGill Petite Petals punch, button, pop dots.  Finished size 5 ½” x 5 ½”.

Peace…and all that stuff

TGIF!   Today I had to take a bit of time to play with another of my new Greeting Farm stamps (before the newER ones arrive).

Peace

      GFP

I thought this Peace image would go well with Basic Grey’s new bright and funky June Bug paper.   The image is a bit large so my card is as well…5 1/2″ x 5 1/2″.

The super-wide ribbon was a gift from my friend, Jody, image from Hope Stamps Eternal, and paper and buttons from Jacksonbelle Embellishments.   For a very light background color, I used one of the new lightest Copic markers (from Eclectic Paperie).

And contrary to what my children think, she did NOT pee in her pants. That’s SHADING.  **eyes rolling**

I’m off to get ready for a pep rally (Rah! Rah! lol).  One more week and I get to sleep in past 6.  Can’t wait.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Stamps:  The Greeting Farm “HG Peace”   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black   Cardstock:  Prism Black, Simply Smooth White   Patterned Paper:  Basic Grey June Bug 6” x 6” pad   Accessories:  Copic markers (E00, R20, R27, R29, Y08, Y15, E57, E77, YG23, YG63, YG00, YG0000), Heidi Swapp Ghost Flowers, Basic Grey buttons, white string (colored with red Copic), ribbon.

You Warm my Heart

Hi everyone!  I recently picked up a few more Greeting Farm images from Hope Stamps Eternal.  I thought I’d try to use at least one of them before too much dust accumulated.  I have several deadlines looming but hopefully it won’t be too terribly long before I can use the others.

You Warm My Heart

            GFYWMH

I paired this Snuggle image with October Afternoon’s “Ducks in a Row.”  (Love that paper.)

I’m off to bed as I’ll be up with the paper boy (not literally-ha!) in the very early a.m. on my way to a swim meet.  Poor kids have to be in the water by 6:10.  (Better them than me!)   Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Stamps:  The Greeting Farm “Snuggle”; Cornish Heritage Farms “Hugs & Kisses” (Kim Hughes Collection)   Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black   Cardstock:  Prism Vibrant Pink, Natural Smooth   Patterned Paper:  October Afternoon “Ducks in a Row”   Accessories:  Copic markers (E000, E00, R20, E31, E33, E35, RV000, R00, C1, YG95), Basic Grey buttons, white string, sewing machine.

Swooning Anya

Hi everyone!  It’s just about Friday!  🙂

We have our first swim meet this weekend.  It’s actually Time Trials so it’s really a “kind of” meet, but we’re excited to see how well the kids do (ours and their friends).  This is our daughter’s first time on the team so we’re super excited to see her swim.  I’m not too excited to be at the pool by 6:30 a.m. though.  But who knows.  If our woodpecker is doing his usual pecking on the gutter, we might be up even earlier than necessary.  (Insert expletives.)

Here is another of The Greeting Farm’s latest (I think) Anya images, Rain, Snow, Shine

You Warm My Heart

     WSDOFP

I added a few little cross-stitches here and there and used a clear gel pen on her sunglasses so they’re nice and shiny.

Once I had taken the photo of this card, I decided the red ribbon was too thin in comparison to the card size so I added the wider lace underneath.  Unfortunately, I had stitched the button to the patterned paper so I cut the lace down the middle and glued each half just under the ribbon’s edges.  (Creative altering.)

I have one more image from this trio yet to be inked…Snow.   Soon…. soon. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Stamps:  The Greeting Farm “Rain, Snow, Shine;” Cornish Heritage Farms “Hugs & Kisses” (sentiment) and “Summer Trees” (grass) (Kim Hughes Collection)    Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Adirondack Mountain Rose   Cardstock:  Prism Blush Red Dark, Iced Teal, Natural Smooth   Patterned Paper:  October Afternoon Cherry Hill paper pad   Accessories:  Copic markers (E0000, E00, R20, R32, R35, YG95, B0000), piercing template/needle, white string, button, Sakura clear gel pen, Making Memories ribbon.  Finished size: 5 ½” x 5 ½”.

Thanks, Anya

Hi everyone!  Super-quick post today!  We’re off to the Desert Museum this morning.  (I just love that place.  Hopefully I’ll have some pictures to share once I’m home.)

Thanks

      GFTA

I was finally able to find some Anya stamps in stock at Hope Stamps Eternal.  I just love them!  And I used my new Pink Paislee paper from Jacksonbelle Embellishments.  (I think it’s gorgeous!)
