One of My Favorite Peeps (a taylored expressions Easter treat)

Hi everyone! We’ve had an early spring in this part of the country and so it seems only natural (not really, it’s kind of weird) to be thinking about Easter treats. Taylored Expressions has an adorable Sack It Chick die set which fits perfectly onto their Sack It treat box.

Favorite-Peep-Treat-500

I used the largest Egg Stacklet shape as the base for the chick’s body and a bow from All Wrapped Up atop the chick’s head.

The box is incredibly easy to assemble.

box-asssembly

1 – Die-cut two box pieces and fold along the score lines. Apply double-sided tape to flaps on both pieces and bottom of one piece.

2 – Remove release tape; carefully align box bottoms and adhere, pressing firmly along tape areas. I use a bone folder to apply added pressure.

3 – Carefully aligning box sides, adhere flaps to inside of box.

4 – Finished!

X-Press It High Tack Double Sided Tape

I always reach for X-Press It High Tack Double-sided tape for projects like this. It’s great for all weights of paper, especially heavier types such as mat board, cardboard and heavyweight card stock. It’s also great on wood, metal, plastic and fabric! It comes in 1/2″, 1/4″ and 1/8″ widths, features high grip and easy tearing by hand. It’s also heat resistant so if you heat emboss or iron over it , the tape will not be damaged. Also, the release paper is very easily removed and doesn’t stick to your fingers. (That makes me crazy.)

The cute sentiment is from new Peek a Boo Easter stamp set. You can find additional Sack It die sets HERE. (I also especially like the fox!)

you a-maze me (taylored expressions)

Hello, everyone! Happy Valentine’s Day!  I have a quick and easy card to share, most appropriately, with a heart. 🙂

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I used You Amaze Me stamp set from Taylored Expressions.  In the center of the heart, I adhered a tiny black rhinestone.

I used my MISTI to easily stamp the sentiment in both red and black inks. I simply masked off each portion of the stamp before moving on to the next color.

Super simple.  🙂

Taylored Expressions February Release, Blessings and Prayers

Hi everyone! I hope you’ve enjoyed the Taylored Expressions‘ February release previews over the last several days. You can find everything, now available, HERE. Before you head over to the TE store, I have two more samples to share.

My first card uses new You’re in My Prayers and Spring Florals stamp sets along with new Ornate Frame Cutting Plate, Prayers Script die and Spring Florals dies. I think they all work beautifully together.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

The flowers and leaves were stamped in Potato Chip, Lavender Glaze and Granny Smith inks, with Prayers and cutting plate cut from Toffee card stock. I truly love the Prayers Script. 🙂

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

Once assembled, I added a handful of Sugar Cube enamel shapes.

Next, I used new Bloomin’ Background, So Very Blessed stamp set and Blessed Script.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

Bloomin’ Background was stamped onto Toffee card stock with Sugar Cube ink then white embossed and colored with Copic markers.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

Copic markers – R83, RV55, Y15, YG05, YR04

To achieve a perfect color match for the Blessed die, I die-cut the word from Toffee card stock then colored with the same Copic markers I used on the red flowers.

Easter Peeps and Pollen, Taylored Expressions February Previews

Hi everyone! It’s Day 3 of Taylored Expressions‘ February release previews! All new products will be available for purchase tomorrow at 7. a.m. PDT (10 a.m. EST).

Today I am sharing my favorite (of my samples). I absolutely adore this new Peek-a-Boo Easter set. Along with the coordinating dies, I also used new Little Bits Pocket.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

How sweet is that lamb? I love him/her.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

Copic markers – E40, E41, E42, E43, R20, Y23, Colorless Blender

After die-cutting the pocket from Sugar Cube card stock, I colored the pieces with Copic markers then lightly pressed over with a scrap of fabric saturated with Copic’s Colorless Blender.

I used Peek-a-boo Easter once again along with new TE Enamel Shapes.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I lightly blended a bit of Salt Water Taffy ink in the center, then used an Egg Stacklets die as a guide for placing the heart enamel shapes.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I very lightly traced around the die, adhered the hearts then erased the pencil line.

Lastly,  I used new Spring Grumplings. We have lots of spring allergies here so I especially like the Sneezin’s Greetings sentiment.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions I used Build a Scene Trees, the sun from Build a Calendar, flowers from Little Bits Easter Confetti and a Stitched Rectangle Stacklet.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

Copic markers – BG10, E18, E31, E33, E35, R27, RV14, Y18, Y38, YG07, YR18

Poor critter.  🙂

Faith in Bloom, Taylored Expressions February Previews

Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing a couple more cards using Taylored Expressions‘ February 9 release products.

My first card uses previousy released Faith in Bloom stamp set with new Faith in Bloom coordinating dies.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I first created a watercolor background using Scattered Straw, Cracked Pistachio and Worn Lipstick distress inks.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

Copic markers – BG32, C1, C2, R81, R83, R85, Y11, Y32, YR23

I then stamped the flowers and colored with Copic markers. The sentiment was stamped in Sugar Cube ink onto Oreo card stock and white embossed.

Next, I used My Redeemer Lives with a corresponding die.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I stamped the cross and sentiment in beautiful Delicata Gold Glitz ink. No embossing is necessary. It’s shiny and just lovely on its own.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

In the background I used new Redeemer Embossing Folder.  (The gold card stock peeking out on the left and right sides of the embossed panel is from Michaels.)

Spring is in the Air – Taylored Expressions February Preview

Hello everyone! Welcome to the first day of Taylored Expressions‘ February 9 release previews! Today I’m sharing two cards. My first uses lovely new Spring Florals with coordinating dies.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I stamped the flowers in Lavender Glaze and Strawberry Milkshake inks with the wreath stamped in Granny Smith ink. In the flower centers I placed new Taylored Expressions Enamel Shapes.

enamel-shape-graphic-small

I’m excited about these shapes for several reasons. There are currently 12 colors, all of which perfectly match TE card stock. Each set includes various sizes of dots, hearts and stars. The shapes add just the perfect amount of dimension without being “too” round or thick.  🙂

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

Once my wreath was assembled, I wrapped a bit of gold twine then adhered over card stock embossed with Brick Embossing Folder.

Next, I used new Bloomin’ Background with a sentiment from Simply Said – Spring.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I first stamped the background using Cupcake ink then colored with Copic markers.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

Copic markers – E51, E53, E55, G24, G43, R000, R00, Y00, Y32, YG61, W00, W1

Quick and Easy Bugs & Kisses Valentine Tags (taylored expressions)

Hi everyone! Before Valentine’s Day slips by in the blink of an eye (and we all know it will), I thought I’d share two tags I created using Taylored ExpressionsBugs & Kisses stamp/die combo.

Quick and easy Valentine tags

These came together very quickly using elements from Build a Tag 2.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

Copic markers – BG11, C1, C2, C3, R00, R02, R46, R83, R85

I cut and layered several scalloped frames to create depth around the white embossed sentiments. They look a bit like chalkboards.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

Copic markers – BG11, C1, C2, C3, R00, R83, R85

Once stamped, colored and die-cut, the bugs were adhered with foam tape.

Thanks so much for visiting today! ♥

If you can be anything, be kind (taylored expressions)

I adore Taylored Expressions‘ latest release of 3×4 Watercolor Panels, Inspire. The set includes three each of four designs. Each one is lovely, quick and easy to color. This is my favorite of the set. “If you can be anything, be kind.”

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

To color my panel, I scribbled Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers onto an acrylic block then picked up color with a water brush. Super quick and easy.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

In the background, I used a Sugar Cube panel embossed with Cross Stitch Embossing Folder then added a strip of gold dot washi tape for extra interest.

Thanks so much for visiting today. 🙂

Taylored Expressions January Release Now Available!

Hi everyone! I hope you’ve enjoyed the design team previews of Taylored Expressions‘ January release this week! You can find everything, now available, HERE. Before you head over to the TE store, I have two more samples to share.

My first card uses new Wish Big stamp and die combo. I stamped the balloons in Lemon Meringue, Strawberry Milkshake and Cookie Monster dye inks. “Happy” was stamped in Oreo hybrid ink then colored with Copic markers.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I wanted the balloon strings to extend long enough to place the “happy” die-cut over so I did a tricky little extension. Using the die-cut “happy” as a guide, I stamped the top/straight portion of the balloon strings beneath the balloons. Then I inked the bottom portion of the string and stamped, carefully aligning with the previously stamped strings, and leaving a gap to be covered with the “happy” die-cut. Noone will ever know there’s a break in the line beneath the popped up word. 🙂

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

“Birthday” was stamped in Sugar Cube pigment ink onto Oreo card stock then white embossed. Lastly, I sprinkled some Little Bits Confetti.

Next, I’ve used new Exercise Grumplings (and coordinating die) with my favorite sentiment from the set.  Haha!

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I blended a bit of Sprinkles ink as a background then layered the Stitched Clouds with a Little Bits Sun and grass from Build a Scene Calendar 5×7.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

Copic markers – BG11, R02, R02, R24, R81, R83, R85, W00, W2, W3, W4, YG03, YG05, YG09

That sentiment is so funny. It sounds exactly like something I would say. (Run, I do not.)
