Make a Wish – Stamping Bella Sneak Peek

Hi everyone! Welcome to the very first day of Stamping Bella‘s June 25 release! We’re especially excited to bring to you this month the original Bellas modernized in a new line – BELLA 2.0! It’s been such fun to see these images come back to life! Over the next week, the Stamping Bella DT will be sharing samples of Bella 2.0 as well as a few new Wobbles, Cool Chicks and, of course, a new Edna. (You know I love her so.)

Today, I present to you Cakeabella.

Michele Boyer - Stamping Bella

She was stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers. On her apron, I added dots using Copic Opaque White.

Thinking of You (stamping bella)

Hi everyone.  It’s time for another Bellarific Friday challenge with Stamping Bella. Last week we had an inspiration photo (as seen in this post). I decided to go with the color scheme using Uptown Girl Winnie Peeking Out the Window.

Michele Boyer - Stamping Bella

I stamped the image onto X-Press It Blending Card using Taylored Expressions’ new Oreo hybrid ink then colored with Copic markers. To achieve the “brick-ish” pattern, I repeatedly touched the side of the chisel nib to the paper then added shading over top. (It was quick and easy.)

Copic markers – BG32, BG49, BG70, BV000, E00, E11, E31, E35, E40, E41, E42, E43, E55, E57, E79, R01, W00, W1, W2, W3, Y21

Next week’s challenge includes this {Mojo Bella} sketch:

Sorry It’s Pasture Birthday (taylored expressions)

Hello, crafty friends.  I had such a great time playing with Taylored Expressions‘ new Little Bits Barn, Tractor, Silo and Farm Fence. (They’re so CUTE!)

Pasture-Birthday-500

I first sponged a light Salt Water Taffy background then a Granny Smith and Peapod ground. To achieve the “hill line,” I simply cut a piece of printer paper and used that as a mask for sponging, adding in the darker Pea Pod ink toward the bottom.

The center of the sun, as well as one of the clouds (from Little Bits Sun & Clouds) are each raised on a Kool Tak Clear Foam Square.

I love the play on words in the sentiment from Green Acres stamp set.  🙂

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Hello Love (paper smooches)

Hi everyone! Today I have a card to share using new Bird Cage dies and Hello Sampler stamp set from Paper Smooches. Hello Sampler is this month’s TAM (Thanks a Million) set which means it is free to you with any $60 retail purchase through June 30th.

Hello-Love-500

I die-cut the delicate cage from shiny gold card stock, using a thin metal shim with my cutting plates to ensure crisp cuts and easy removal of the die-cut card stock. The flowers were cut using Flowers Two dies and white string was colored using a green Copic marker.

Hello-Love-CU

The sentiment was stamped in VersaMark ink then gold embossed to coordinate with the cage.

Thanks so much for visiting today!

Adding Pattern to an Open Area Design

Last week in THIS post I shared just how handy Copic‘s Multiliners are to stampers/paper crafters.  Today I’m playing a bit more with the colored Multiliners. As mentioned in the previous post, Multiliners are available in black as well as eight colors – wine, cobalt, olive, gray, warm gray, sepia, brown and pink.

All Multiliners feature the same qualities. They are archival, waterproof, fade resistant and pigment-based. They are available in a variety of nib sizes and all work perfectly with Copic markers.

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

Paper Smooches “Twiggy Florets” and “Chit Chat”

I used colored Multiliners to create a pattern within the open space image and sentiment above. After drawing the lines, I filled the space, coloring over and adding a bit of shadow with Copics.  (I love that I can color over the Multiliners with no bleeding whatsoever. Zero. Very cool.)

ML-Stripes-1

I first stamped the image and sentiment onto X-Press It Blending Card using Taylored Expressions’ new Oreo hybrid ink.

ML-Stripes-2

I taped the Blending Card at an angle onto graph paper then used a straight edge to draw alternating lines of Cobalt, Olive, Sepia and Wine. I used the grid paper to make sure the lines remained straight (because, you know, sometimes they don’t).

ML-Stripes-3

After filling the sentiment, I decided to do the same with the flower and leaf. I used only Sepia in those areas.

ML-Stripes-4

Once all areas were lined, I filled in with Y21 then added a touch of shadow with YR23 and a bit of W1 and W2.

Michele Boyer - Paper Smooches

Copic Multiliners – Cobalt, Olive, Sepia, Wine; Copic markers – Y21, YR23, W1, W2

I love the finished result as an alternative to simply coloring in the areas.  🙂

Stamping Bella “Tiny Townie Anabelle Needs Your Address”

Another of my favorite uses for the wine Multiliner is to add freckles to faces. It’s a tiny detail but makes a big difference.

Thanks so much for visiting today! Have a great weekend!

Be Your Own Hero (stamping bella)

Hi everyone! Welcome to another Bellarific Friday with Stamping Bella! This week we’re working with another fab {Mojo}Bella sketch. I used Tiny Townie Hayley the Hero.

Be-Your-Own-Hero-6-10-500

After stamping onto X-Press It Blending Card, I colored with Copic makers and added festive Doodlebug Patriotic Picnic (6×6) patterned papers.

For next week’s challenge, we’re using this inspiration photo:

If Cows Could Talk – Taylored Expressions June Release Now Available

Hi everyone!  It’s Release Day with Taylored Expressions!  You can find all of the new products now available for sale right HERE!

I have two cards to share today using new If Cows Could Talk stamp and die combo. This set is soooo cute.  I love being able to switch out the expressions to create entirely different looks! (The one at the top right is me this week. Maybe even this month. Oy.) The sentiments in this set are adorable too!

I stamped that little guy several times, using a Stamp-a-ma-jig for placement of each expression. I added just a bit of color and then die-cut each.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

I used my favorite new black hybrid ink, TE Oreo hybrid. It’s amazing.

Copic markers – BG11, BG13, R00, R29, W00, W2, 110

On my second card, I used the mustachio face because I thought it went very well with the sentiment. Haha, I love it.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

The flowers and stem were cut using elements from new Door to Door Summer Decor, and I used Picket Fence Border behind him. I cut the pointed tips from the fence thinking it would look more like a pasture type of fence but it probably didn’t matter.

Sending You Sunshine – Taylored Expressions June Release Preview

Hi everyone! Things are heating up with Day 2 of Taylored Expressions‘ June release (Thursday 06/09 at 7 a.m. PDT)!

My sample today uses new On the Line-Beach Cutting Plate, Little Bits Flamingo and new TE inks! (I love the inks. Have I mentioned that?)

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

All parts of my card, except the base and tree trunks, were die-cut from Sugar Cube card stock and then sponged with the new dye inks:

The sentiment, from A Bushel & A Peck was stamped in new Oreo hybrid ink.

I sponged the edges of the kraft card stock with Chocolate Truffle and popped up several of the pieces using Kool Tak Clear Foam Squares. The stripes on the surfboard were created by applying thin strips of Post It tape before sponging. Lastly, the “lights” are clear rhinestones, colored with Copic markers.

Michele Boyer - Taylored Expressions

Altered rhinestones – Copic markers (BG07, R29, Y19, YR68)

At first I wanted to add something in the water, but then I decided I liked the peacefulness of it plain. I wish I were there.  😉

Taylored Expressions is celebrating Release Week with some fabulous giveaways! Visit the TE Blog to answer Taylor’s Question of the Day for a chance to win a prize from the latest release!

Copic Class Info, Giveaway Alert and One of my Favorite Stamping Tools

Hi everyone! Today I thought I’d share one of my favorite *must have* stamping supplies.

First, I want to mention some fabulous upcoming Copic Workshop classes offered through Imagination International, Inc.  The workshops include More Whimsical Faces and Hair, Vintage Values and Mono Tones and Dress for Success-Clothing and Accessories. You can find all info/locations HERE. At the bottom right of that same page, there is a spot where you can sign up to receive the iii newsletter so you won’t miss a thing!

**GIVEAWAY**  Leave a comment on this post by Friday, June 10th for a chance to win ONE of TEN Copic t-shirts.  Yes, I have TEN t-shirts to give away.   (Style of shirt to be determined.)

Now, on to one of my favorite stamping tools – the Copic Multiliners! For so many reasons, these are not your ordinary pens. Other than black, Multiliners are available in eight colors and a variety of nib sizes.

Michele Boyer - All Dressed Up Stamps

All Dressed Up Stamps “Hippie Chick” and Paper Smooches “Fun & Flirty”

Multiliners are archival, waterproof, fade resistant and pigment-based. Once dry, they work fabulously with Copic markers and watercolor. Multiliners are available individually, in sets, as disposables or refillables. So many options! I use Multiliners to fill in missing or faded lines from stamped images or to add extra detail to or around an image such as ground, grass or doodles.

Multiliner-Samples

Above is a quick visual of the different sizes I like to have on hand. Stamped or digital images have varying line widths so I try to always have several options available for a close match.

Michele Boyer - All Dressed Up Stamps

I printed All Dressed Up Stamps‘ Hippie Chick (found HERE on Etsy) onto X-Press It Blending Card then colored with Copic markers.

While I love the image as is, I thought little butterfly trails would be cute while also filling some of the white space. Since the lines on the butterflies are so very thin, I used a 0.05 Multiliner to gently dash in the trails.

Using a Sepia Multiliner, I sketched in some grass over the ground shading and I used a Wine Multiliner to add a bit of border detail along the scalloped edge.

Michele Boyer - All Dressed Up Stamps

Copic markers – BG000, BG11, BG13, BG18, E00, E01, E11, E31, E33, E35, E37, R24, R27, R29, W00, W1, Y21, YR23; black 0.05 Multiliner

The additional detail is small, but I think it makes a big difference, don’t you agree?

Thanks so much for visiting today, and don’t forget to leave a comment below for your chance to win a Copic t-shirt!

I’ll Always Have Your Back

It’s another Bellarific Friday with Stamping Bella! This week’s challenge was to use our favorite embellishment. Today the DT  is also using June Stamp of the Month, I’ll Always Have Your Back from the Stuffies collection. This adorable image with sentiment is 20% off through June 30th.

Michele Boyer - Stamping Bella

I stamped the image onto X-Press It Blending Card then colored with Copic markers.  I was happy to find some small gray enamel stars in my stash and added a few around the sentiment.  (Enamel dots are my favorite embellishment…at the moment.) I think these elephants are the sweetest.  🙂

Copic markers – BG10, BG70, R01, R83, R85, RV32, W00, W1, W2, W3, Y21, YG91, YG93, YG95
