Happy Birthday, Joe!

Hi everyone!  I have a million things to do today as it’s  my son’s 13th birthday (gasp!) .  He has six friends spending the night with a midnight run to Game Stop for the MUCH anticipated release of a video game.  Exciting stuff here!  (Wish my luck.)

While searching for an image to use for Joe’s birthday card, I came across this cute Hoodie Jayson image from Whimsie Doodles.  It’s perfect for him.  He’s always cold, like his mom, and loves his hoodies.

My image was colored with Copics, using pencils for the grass.  The happy birthday sentiment is from Tag, You’re it!, an old set I saved from The Kim Hughes Collection.  I stamped the sentiment onto Sentiment Strips Die-namics from My Favorite Things, sponging the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink before adhering/stitching.

I finished the inside super-simply.  Plenty of room for signing.  🙂

Thanks for visiting today!  See you soon!

Robot Fun

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend!  We have so many plans over the next several days…one of which is preparing for a “teen boy” birthday sleepover.  I can hardly believe I’ll have a 13-year old.  Seems like just a few years ago I was carrying his colicky self round and round my house trying to quiet him.  🙂

At any rate, I thought I’d pop in here while I have a bit of down time.

I found this adorable Robot stamp set and bright paper at Michaels.  (In case you’re wondering, those candies are Gushers.  I was crossing my fingers one didn’t gush all over my white drape.  Ick.)

Isn’t he cute?  🙂   While coloring with my much-loved Copics, I was careful to leave bits of white to show as highlights.  I especially like this technique on eyes and buttons.  They look rather shiny, don’t they?

I used a second robot from the set to create a gift tag.  Since this little guy had his “arms” in the air, I chose to insert colorful brads as if he’s juggling.  The ribbon, originally white, was dyed using a B39 marker.

Have a great rest of the weekend!  Thanks for visiting today!  🙂

Thinking of You

Hi everyone.  TGIF…or almost TGIF, anyway.  🙂    Even though our work/school week was shortened because of the storm, this last part of the week has seemed soooo long.  I don’t know why.

I finally had a chance the other day to put this card together.  I colored the image, Winnie from Saturated Canary, quite a while ago.  (I get so busy with other things that I end up with small piles of colored images just waiting to be used.)

I think this image is so sweet.  I love the little banner.

After coloring with Copics, I sponged the edges with Ranger’s Antique Linen distress ink, added some random stitching and gathered crocheted trim.

I used My Favorite Things Sentiment Strip Die-namics for the sentiment, and the little hearts were die-cut from Notched Tag Die-namics.  The hemp cord is from My Favorite Things as well.

I’ll be back soon.  Thanks for visiting today!  🙂
