Heart Strings

Hi everyone.  I wanted to squeeze in one more My Favorite Thingscard before the month’s end.  I had a bit of time once my son was at a friend’s house this afternoon and my daughter was asleep on the couch after possibly breaking her finger at the pool.  (It’s been one thing after another here lately.)  I’ll have to get another look at her finger in the a.m. and decide whether she should get an x-ray.  But speaking of the pool and my daughter and finally a GOOD thing… she was the #1  8 & Under Girl Breast Stroker on Saturday!  SO exciting!

You Tug on My Heart Strings

      MFTTOHS

I have quite a stack of new MFT sets from last month that I’ve yet to ink.  But I’m happy to say there is now one less in the pile.  This is Heart on a Stringfrom the Jolinne line.  She’s so sweet.  I used lots of scraps from my Early Bird patterned paper and MFT’s new Fresh Cut Grass Die-namics and (I believe) Outdoor Essentials Favorite Felt.  (You can find both here.)

When die-cutting the grass, I realized that I could use the top (negative) cut of grass as well as the actual die-cut piece (like cutting two at once).  I placed the MFTHSIN“negative” piece behind the actual die-cut piece.  The felt is luscious and cuts so easily with my paper cutter.  I was afraid it would catch and pull but it was like butter.

I used more scraps on the inside for a quick and easy finish.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great day.
