Weekly Spotlight 4/13-4/17

MFTWSTGIM!

This week’s spotlight with My Favorite Things is on the spring and summer glitter collections as well as clear glitter.

Also in the spotlight this week are two new sets to be released on Wednesday, April 15th.

Stamps, Paper, Coffee

MFTSP2

Here I’ve used What a Girl Wants.  I added dimensional glaze sprinkled with clear glitter to her crown, necklace and earrings.  I popped up her hair (in the back) along with her butt and bag.

I wish I’d had more time to play with this set before I left for vacation.  I think it could be a lot of fun.  I have a few ideas brewing in my brain for later. 🙂

I’m spending my entire Monday traveling home.  It’s been a great vacation but it’s time to return to the real world.  🙁  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

A Creative Use of Stamps

I thought I’d share a couple of cards I recently made, one for my brother and one for my son.

Happy Birthday

HBS

This is my brother’s birthday card.  I think he will totally appreciate that dotted flourish.  (Yes, it’s inappropriate, but my brother will appreciate it.)

You’re a Stinker

SCUI

And I figured while I was at it, I’d make another for my son.  He likes little dogs…and dotted swirls.  lol.

Thanks for stopping by!   Have a great day! 🙂

Weekly Spotlight 4/6-4/10

MFTWSTGIM!

This week’s spotlight with My Favorite Things is on Powder Keg embossing powders.

Your spotlight savings:  All embossing powders are on sale for $4 each.  Have you seen them?  They’re very cool.  Each jar has a main color (of course) but there are tiny flecks of other colors within the jar.  When you go to the website (here), click on one of the circles to see it up close.

This card took a huge turn away from my original intention…not that I know exactly what that was, but this was not it (at all).

The Best Things in Life

   BTIL

I am embossing powder-challenged.  I mostly only use it to help a sentiment stand out on patterned paper.  My sentiment here is BTCCUembossed, as is the main image.  Embossing the main image can make the coloring easier (otherwise known as “staying inside the lines”) and it also adds a bit more interest for the recipient.

My little swirly clip with the ribbon was inspired by Jessie and I added the brads in the corners because one corner was not perfect (and I wanted to humor my good friend, G. She likes when I call her G.  lol)

Thanks so  much for stopping by!  Have a great day!  (I’m not really here.  I’m slumming it (ha!) in Arizona, enjoying this wonderful warmth and sunshine.)  🙂

Stamps:  My Favorite Things “Tea for Two”   Ink:  Versamark   Cardstock: Stampin’ Up Basic Gray; Prism Natural Smooth   Patterned Paper:  Cosmo Cricket “Everafter” Something Old and Something Borrowed   Accessories: Copic markers (E00, Y21, E50, W1), Powder Keg Gilded Grape Leaf embossing powder, Stampin’ Up pewter hardware, vanilla taffeta ribbon, pop dots, sewing machine.  Card size 5 ½” x 5 ½”.

Yahoooo

Hi everyone!  I’m frantically packing for our trip so this is REALLY short!
