Ooh-La-La!

OLL2

It’s been a very long week here with a sick child and then a snow day… TGIF BABY, and school is ON TIME!  (I seriously need a break.)

This is a card using “Ooh La La” by Lizzie Anne Designs.   The dog in the back is “admiring” the crown on the dog in the front.  🙂

I made the crown from part of a finial stamp in the set, just using the bottom portion.  I stamped and masked the “crown” (omitting the bigger portion of the stamp) then stamped the dog.

The brads are Stampin’ Up’s pewter build-a-brads.  I love these!  It would be nice to have aged copper ones though!  I used a 1/2″ circle punch to punch the brown patterned paper, glued the pieces inside the brad (I just used regular snail-type adhesive), then added the clear top.  They’re great!

Thanks for stopping by!  Stay warm (it’s freezing here!! Brrrr…) and have a great weekend!

Cardstock:  Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla    Patterned Paper:  Basic Grey Stella Ruby    Stamps:  Lizzie Anne Designs “Ooh La La”    Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black    Accessories:  Copic markers, mat pack/needle, Chocolate Chip marker, SU pewter build-a-brads, edge distresser, ½” circle punch.  Finished card size 5 ½” x 4 ¼”.

Merci!

Merci

I’ve been playin’ with the pooch! lol.  I’m not a fan of poodles, but I do think this little guy is kind of cute.  He’s from the Ooh La La! set by Lizzie Anne Designs

I must say I *heart* this We R Memory Keepers Precious Metal patterned paper.  WOWEE!!  I used the Vintage Brass line on this card.  (And the Coppered Out is sa-weet!!!!!  It has a lot of dark brown…my fave!)

Anyway, I thought this little guy would go well with the paisley and that fancy ribbon from Jacksonbelle Embellishments

I stamped the frame, then masked off the bottom and used the top of the little building stamp for the cushion the pup is standing on.  There are dimensionals between the stamped image and the green mat and behind the mat as well.  The card base is vanilla.  (I just covered the front with the back/solid side of one of the patterned papers.)

More of this set later!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Cardstock:  Very Vanilla     Patterned Paper:  We R Memory Keepers Precious Metal Vintage Brass “Crush” and “Picket”     Stamps:  Lizzie Anne Designs “Ooh La La!”     Ink:  Brilliance Graphite Black     Accessories:  Copic markers, Karen Foster thumbtack brads, ribbon, mat pack/needle, Close to Cocoa marker, dimensionals.  Finished card size 4 ¼” x 4 ¼”.

Merry & Bright…different looks (and a winner)!

MB400I issued myself a challenge with this Merry & Bright set by Lizzie Anne Designs.  I wanted each card to be a totally different style.

Here is the first one I made a while back (with a “western” spin).

This one (left) is kind of “funky.”  🙂  The colors and patterns are very non-traditional.  I rounded the corners and used markers to color in the lights.  I wasn’t sure I liked this one at first, but it’s growing on me.  (It’s just a style I’m not used to producing.)

Cardstock:  SU Bravo Burgundy, Whisper White     Patterned Paper:  Fiskars/Heidi Grace Designs “Sugar Plum Forest Twigs” and “Sugar Plum Forest Jersey Stripe”     Stamps:  Lizzie Anne Designs “Merry & Bright”     Ink:  SU Bravo Burgundy     Accessories:  SU markers (Always Artichoke, Certainly Celery, Blush Blossom), corner rounder, burgundy grosgrain, dimensionals.  Finished card size 5 ½” x 4 ¼”.WY425a

This one (right) is very traditional.  I stamped the sentiment onto vanilla cardstock then added the two poinsettias on the left.  When I trimmed around the sentiment, I cut around the flowers so they are “out of the box.”  I then stamped two more poinsettias on scraps of cardstock, colored and cut them out.  I cut in between some of the petals and layered them on the first poinsettias, tucking little pieces of pop dots under the petals so there is lots of dimension.  Then I added Platinum Stickles to the centers.

Cardstock:  SU Ruby Red, Very Vanilla     Patterned Paper:  7gypsies “Bazrah” and “Gazi”     Stamps:  Lizzie Anne Designs “Merry & Bright”     Ink:  SU Black   Accessories:  SU markers (Ruby Red, Summer Sun, Old Olive), mat pack/needle, ivory taffeta, gold cord, edge distresser, Platinum Stickles, dimensionals.  Finished card size 5 ½” x 4 ¼”.

.

And now our winner….#313 Kathy Johnson!!!  Kathy, please send me an email with your address and I’ll get your package in the mail this week.  Thank you, EVERYONE, for your kind words and for sharing your favorites!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great fall day!

Boo to You!

ST1Here’s a quick little card using Spooked by  Lizzie Anne Designs with bling in the trees for the WT challenge at SCS today!  I just love this set…those bones!! 🙂

I used a small scrap of Halloween patterned paper, left over from another project.  After stamping the house/tree image, I added some small dots with glitter pens, trying to pick up some of the colors from the paper.  Then I added some tiny Hero Arts gemstones.  (Now I wish I would have picked up every assortment of these when I saw them.  I love their tiny size.)

I used my SU grid paper to evenly space the bones in the background, my mat pack to evenly space the eyelets and my Crop-a-dile to set them.

Not much more to say here. It’s a really simple little card, but I like it!  Have a great day!

Cardstock:  SU Green Galore, Summer Sun; Papertrey Ink white     Patterned Paper:  Pebbles, Inc.      Stamps:  Lizzie Anne Designs Spooked     Ink:  Brilliance Graphite Black, SU Green Galore     Accessories:  Eyelets (American Crafts), Hero Arts Gemstones, green and purple Gellyroll Stardust pens (Sakura), dimensionals.  Finished card size:  4 ¼” x 4 ¼”.

Quick and Easy High Hellos!

HHFI had a bit of time this morning so I thought I’d play along with the sketch challenge at SCS.  I like this sketch–you make a standard card, cut off about 1″ from the right front side, decorate the exposed inside and add an overlapping image to the front!

The base of the card is vanilla cardstock. I used the coordinating solid color from the back of the flower print to cover the card front and that little bit of the inside.  Then I added the panels of patterned paper.

The tall flower and sentiment are from High Hellos by Lizzie Anne Designs.  (Such a cute set!)

I colored the flower using Copic and SU markers.  (I had to use both because I only have one yellow Copic and it’s *really* bright.)  The ribbon is from Jacksonbelle Embellishments

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Cardstock:  Very Vanilla     Patterned Paper:  We R Memory Keepers Silver Lining “Dazzle” and “Vivid”     Stamps:  Lizzie Anne Designs “High Hellos”     Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black     Accessories: Copic and SU markers, ribbon, dimensionals.  Finished card size 4 ¼” x 5 ½”.

Lizzie Anne news and Happy Holidays…a little bit Western

Did you know today is World Card Making Day, a holiday especially for cardmakers to “celebrate the creativity of handmade cards and the personal connection they create between family and friends.”  In celebration of WCMD, Lizzie Anne Designs has released a special set at a special price AND placed five other sets on sale ($12 each !! TODAY ONLY), four of which coordinate perfectly with the new release.  Details here.

Did you also know that Lizzie Anne Designs is having a card contest?  Design a card using LAD stamps (that’s the only requirement–any other products are fine).  The winner of this contest will win a $50 gift certificate plus the new WCMD release set, and the winning card will be featured in the November newsletter.  Additionally, TEN runners-up will win the new WCMD release set!  And the best part?  Every card entered into the contest will be donated to Cards for Cancer.  Get all the contest details here. (Note that all entries must be received by October 28!)

HHOI decided to give this LAD set, Merry & Bright, a bit of a different look by going western.  I used markers, coloring directly onto the stamps then stamping onto the vanilla cardstock.  I added a bit of sponging, then faux stitching with a Chocolate marker.

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have a great weekend with lots of time for stamping/card making.  Don’t forget to check out that new Lizzie Anne Designs set and the contest!

Cardstock:  Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla     Patterned Paper:  SU Wanted     Stamps:  Lizzie Anne Designs “Merry & Bright”     Ink:  Ranger Walnut Distress     Accessories:  Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Sage Shadow and Really Rust SU markers, mat pack/needle, eyelets, sponge.  Finished card size 5” x 5”.

One final note…Lindsey has a big sale going on in her store with 200 items at 15% off including all Inkadinkado stamps!  And she’s having another contest soon!! (That was a hint! 🙂 )

For a Friend :)

EDITED to answer some questions…

The box is 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ x 1″.  It will hold about four cards, but the envelopes do not fit.  The box is held closed by a little slot (on the box) and a little cut out flap (on the flap).  If you look closely, you can see it above the flower.  Thanks for the questions, Tara!  FAF3

I made this to hold a special little gift for a friend, but now I’ve decided to save the gift for Christmas.  So I’ll just save the card and box for something else. 🙂

Here’s what I did…I started with a Bravo Burgundy Stampin’ Up Bloomin’ Box.  (I know that pic doesn’t look like burgundy…I couldn’t seem to adjust the color properly.)  I used Tombow Mono Multi to hold the box together.  It works just as well as tacky tape and is much more economical.

I cut pieces of the patterned paper to fit the front, back and flap, using a craft knife to cut the openings for the box closure (a slit on the flap, a slot on the front).  For the handle, I cut a 6″ x 5/8″ strip of burgundy cardstock, scored and folded 1/4″ in from each short side and glued each end to the inside of the flap.

The flowers are from Lizzie Anne Designs Funky Floral set.  I stamped them in Bravo Burgundy onto Vanilla cardstock, cut out and attached with brads.

Thanks for looking, and have a great day!

Cardstock:  Stampin’ Up! Bravo Burgundy, Very Vanilla     Patterned Paper:  Scrapworks Florabella “Ringaround”     Stamps:  Lizzie Anne Designs “Funky Floral” and “Simply Sentiments”     Ink:  Stampin’ Up! Bravo Burgundy, Black     Accessories:  Stampin’ Up! Bravo Burgundy Bloomin Box, pewter brads (Making Memories).   Finished card size: 3” x 3.”

Snowmen Melt Your Heart

SMsmHere’s my first of two samples using Lizzie Anne’s new Simply Single, “Snowmen,”  available September 10th.

This little card  took WAY longer than it should have.  I knew I wanted to use this paper and this ribbon, but I had one heck of a time trying to arrange things.  I have at least three little “boo-boos” hiding behind “stuff” because I kept changing my mind about what to put on the card.

So, I stamped the little snowmen and used Copic markers to add a bit of color.   I tried the ribbon several different ways and was finally somewhat happy with what you see here.  The two little hearts are chipboard, covered with the brown print from the back of the dotted paper.

Thanks for stopping by!  I’ll have more snowmen tomorrow!

Cardstock:  SU Chocolate Chip, Papertrey Ink white     Patterned Paper:  Bo Bunny “Paris Romance” and “Paris Blossoms”     Stamps:  Lizzie Anne Designs “Snowmen”     Ink:  Brilliance Graphite Black     Accessories:  Copic markers, ribbon, mat pack/needle, Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Write marker, Clear Stardust Gelly Roll glitter pen, Onboard Blossoms & Basics (chipboard hearts).  Finished card size 4 ¼” x 4 ¼”.

New Lizzie Anne…three days away!

BSsmOnly three more days until Lizzie Anne Designs releases eight new Simply Singles and eight new Little Bits stamp sets (September 10)!   You can see all of them  here!

I’ve used the new Simply Single “Santa.”  I think he’s the cutest!!  I love those curly-cues in his beard!

I colored him with Copic markers, then popped up the trim and pom-pom on his hat.  I used dimensionals under the trim, but the pom-pom was so small I just used a glue dot.  (I kind of rolled up the edges to form a ball then just stuck the cut out pom-pom on top.  This gives the pom-pom just enough lift.)

Cardstock:  SU Real Red, Papertrey Ink white      Patterned Paper:  Basic Grey Dasher “Flannel Shirt”     Stamp:  Lizzie Anne Designs “Santa”     Ink:  Brilliance Graphite Black     Accessories:  Copic markers, red grosgrain, Karen Foster thumbtack brads, mat pack/needle, Signo white gel pen, dimensionals.  Finished card size 4 ¼” x 5 ½”.

GCSsm

Here I tried to give the Santa a “little” bit of a different look, using non-traditional colors.  I omitted the “believe” sentiment from the stamp and instead used the new Simply Single “Good Cheer.”  As above, the trim on Santa’s hat is popped up for added interest.

Cardstock:  SU Blue Bayou, Papertrey Ink white      Patterned Paper:  Basic Grey Dasher “Bunny Hill,” “Snowfall Polar Blue” and “Flurry”     Stamp:  Lizzie Anne Designs “Santa” and “Good Cheer”     Ink:  Brilliance Graphite Black     Accessories:  Copic markers,  mat pack/needle, Signo white gel pen, dimensionals.  Finished card size 5 ½ x 4 ¼”.

I’m off to work on samples for another new set!  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Joy to the World!

JTWsmIt’s still a bit early for Christmas but I’ve been having fun playing with Lizzie Anne Designs Joy to the World

I stamped the angel twice so I could color, cut and pop up the angel’s left arm.  I used Copic markers to color the dress, and made the little white dots in the scallops with a white gel pen.  The horn, star and hair are colored in with a gold pen.

Cardstock:  SU Blue Bayou, Papertrey Ink white     Patterned Paper:  Basic Grey Dasher “Snowbank”     Stamps:  Lizzie Anne Designs Joy to the World     Ink:  Brilliance Graphite Black     Accessories:  Copic markers, SU Apricot Appeal marker, Zig gold Painty, Signo white gel pen, mm eyelets, Marvy mega and giga scalloped circle punches, Blue Bayou stitched grosgrain, white string, dimensionals.  Finished card size 5 ½” x 4 ¼”.

Please excuse the short description today.  I was up *really* late at a Hootie & the Blowfish concert.  It was FANTASTIC, but I am tired!   HOOTIEEEEE!!!!!  🙂  Thanks for stopping by!
