Perk Up

Hi everyone!  It’s actually Tuesday night as I’m typing. I’m preposting this entry for tomorrow (today/Wednesday for you) in a bit of a hurry.  I’ve been busy helping my fourth grader with a mountain of math homework (his least favorite) and it’s a “must-see” tv night…American Idol, Lost and, finally, the season premier of Deadliest Catch.  (I’ve been impatiently awaiting the return of Deadliest Catch, but I heard some very sad news this morning regarding that show….I think it will be difficult to watch, knowing what’s coming.)  I also have some prep work to do yet for my daughter’s afterschool scrapbook meeting tomorrow.  Eek!  🙂

Kraftin’ Kimmie is this week’s sponsor at Card Positioning Systems and so I have a quick little sample to share.  Well, the coloring was not so quick, but I love having a layout right there to work with.  Layouts are always my biggest struggle.

Perk Up

    KKPUC3

I chose my favorite Kraftin’ Kimmie image, Charlotte from the Moonlight Whispers line.  She’s colored in with Copics and then I added ground/grass with Prismacolor pencils.  The paper is new from My Mind’s Eye Quite Contrary line.  I picked up a bit in Arizona but now I wish I’d gotten more. I **love** it.

KKPUC3I used Charlotte’s little accompanying ragdoll image and a phrase from Kimmie’s Coffee Sentiments to complete the inside.

Be sure to check out the CPS blog!  I believe there will be a prize to be won.  And Kimmie is giving away an extra dose of Kimmie stamps if you use the CPS sketch, KK stamps and link to CPS and the KK challenge blog.   You can find those details here  (after 7 a.m. EST).

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!   🙂

Without You…

         ofp

This little dragon fellow comes with two really cute sentiments, “You Slay Me” and “Time’s a Dragon Without You.”  I decided to split and reverse the sentiment, saving the pun for the inside.

Your next stop along the hop is with MAGNIFICIENT MELANIE!  I’m sure she has something to share that will blow your socks off!

One final note before you hop away, Kraftin’ Kimmie is this week’s sponsor at Card Positioning Systems.  Be sure to check out the fab sketch this week!

Kraftin’ Kimmie Previews, Day 2

Helloooo!  I’m back today with another sample from Annie’s new Medieval Moonlight Whispers images from Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps.  Meet Queen Guinevere.

You are the Queen!

   KKYATQ

After coloring the image with markers, I covered Guinevere’s crown with a clear glitter pen then ‘bejeweled’ it with tiny gems.  I painted a larger chipboard version and then added some jewels to that one as well.

If you’d like to check out more design team samples from Kimmie’s new release (coming Sunday, 4/11), you can find links here.

I’m off to mail this card to the queen (lmbo).  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!  🙂

Kraftin’ Kimmie Previews, Day 1

It’s that time again!  On Sunday, April 11th, Kraftin’ Kimmie is releasing seven new images…six from the Moonlight Whispers line (we have a Medieval twist going on this month) and an adorable new Cindy & Mindy image.  Each comes with its own sentiment, or sentiments.  (I love that!)  Every day leading up to the release, the design team will be previewing all of the new images.  You can click HERE to find links to more samples.

Life With You is a Fairytale

    KKLWY

Meet Princess Petunia.  I paired her with some gorgeous new My Mind’s Eye paper I found on vacation.  (I just had to hit the two local scrap stores even if it meant dragging a bag of 12 x 12 paper all the way across the country.)

I didn’t like the empty space in the upper corners of the image panel so I added a canopy of sorts.  I used my Creative Memories oval cutter to cut the scoop then popped up the piece using foam squares.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I’ll be back tomorrow with another preview!  Have a great day!

Stamps: Kraftin’ Kimmie “Princess Petunia” (Moonlight Whispers)   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black  Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink Dark Chocolate, Vintage Cream  Patterned Paper: My Mind’s Eye Little Miss Muffet “Hello Beautiful” and Little Boy Blue “Curious”  Accessories: Copic markers (E000, E00, R20, R81, R83, R85, YG91, YG93, YG95, YG0000, C00, C1, C3), Amuse jewel, Sakura clear glaze pen, brads, Fiskars Apron Strings border punch, Creative Memories Oval Cutter, dimensional boosters.  Finished size 5 ½” x 5 ½”.

Let’s Get Punchy

This week on the Kraftin Kimmie blog Jeanne has challenged us to use punches.  Or if you’d rather, you can use die cuts.  I went for ‘very simple’ here, using only a rectangular Nestability to frame my image and SU’s scalloped border punch beneath the floral print.

I’m Here For You

    KKIHFY

I used Bench Friends from the KK’s Cindy & Mindy line.  I it’s a sweet image.  🙂

You can see other design team samples here.  If you’d like to play along and have a chance to win a free stamp from Kraftin’ Kimmie, be sure to post a link to your project on the challenge blog.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

An Eyelet Here, An Eyelet There

It’s time for another challenge with Kraftin’ Kimmie!  Today we’re using eyelets… one or more, it doesn’t matter.  If you’d like to play along, you can find all the details here.  Don’t forget to post a link there on the Challenge Blog because one lucky winner will receive a free Lola Da Vinci image as I’ve used here.

You Color My World

   ofp

I had the bright idea to make a little paint palette using circle punches and eyelets.  Then it dawned on me that Lola is holding a big wall-type brush….which she would not use with a palette.  Silly me.  I decided I liked it enough to leave it alone though.

To get the little hump on the one end of the circles, I cut that rounded “hump” with scissors.  Looking at the underside of the punch, I inserted my paper, then lifted the “hump” part out of the circle so it wouldn’t punch.  Once the ‘almost whole’ circle was punched, I trimmed just a bit to smooth the edges between the circle and the “hump.”  (I hope that makes sense.)

And this is more of that gorgeous Basic Grey Kioshi paper.  🙂

You can see other samples by the design team HERE.  I hope you’ll play along!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great weekend!

When in Doubt, Dance!

   KKWIDD2

I decided to pair bold papers and a simple layout with Monique.    Isn’t she pretty?

KKWIDDCU2After coloring with Copics, I colored over Monique’s hair with a buttermilk glitter pen.  A red glitter pen added sparkle to her outfit, and a black one added some sparkle to her eyeliner.

I added a line of (ancient) Gelly Gems beneath the ribbon and placed one on the end of Monique’s baton.

Your next stop along the hop is sweet DIANA.

Thank you so much for visiting (and hopping)!  Have a great day!

A Kraftin’ Kimmie Preview and Challenge

Hi everyone!  I have one more preview of Kraftin’ Kimmie’s March release (which is tomorrow)!  And since it’s Saturday, we’ve all tied our samples in with this week’s Krafty challenge.  Tara has asked us to use beads.  If you’d like to play along and have a chance to win one of the new release images, you can find all the info here (as well as more samples).

Shake Your Tailfeathers!

        KKSTF3

This is Vivienne.   She comes along with two sentiments, the one I’ve used and “Strut Your Stuff!”  I like both and had a hard time choosing which one to use on this card.

My daughter still wants to know why all these girls have no pants.  “It’s inappropriate, you know.”   Yes, I know.  lol.

KKSTFCU3I threaded one small bead, one larger bead and then two smaller beads onto thread and “stitched” them to the base of the feathers.  I wanted to add tiny beads to Vivienne’s necklace but I didn’t have any that small.   Instead I used a clear 3-d glaze pen to dot over each bead after coloring.

I also colored over the eyeshadow with a melon glitter pen.

Be sure to check out the other Krafty girls’ samples!  You can find links on the Krafty Blog.  And we’ll be back tomorrow with a March Release Hop.  🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Kraftin’ Kimmie Previews, Day 2

TGIF!  🙂  I’m back with another sample using one of the new March releases from Kraftin’ Kimmie.  Today I’ve used Angry Ballerina.  Yep, she’s pretty angry.  But still cute.

This new image is made from a painting by the amazingly talented Annie Rodrigue.  (You can see it here.)

Just One of Those Days

   KKJOOTD

I seem to have this thing for using pearls and circles lately so please bear with me while I get it out of my system.

KKABCUSince this ballerina is clearly not a “pig costume” kind of gal, I’m assuming she’s not a pearl girl either.  But I added tiny pearl buttons to her dress anyway.  If she’s unhappy about the pig, the pearls can’t make it any worse, right?

You can find links to other fab design team samples here.  We’ll be sharing samples again tomorrow with a release hop on Sunday, March 14th.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Kraftin’ Kimmie’s March Previews, Day 1

Hi everyone!  It’s time for March previews from Kraftin’ Kimmie! On Sunday, March 14th, there will be two new Cindy and Mindy designs by Jean Grant, four new fairy images by Crissy Armstrong and four new images by Annie Rodrigue….PLUS another of Annie’s paintings has been made into a stamp!  (It’s not the image I used here.  You’ll have to check out some of the other previews to see which one.)

Wanna Dance?

    KKWD3

Meet Babette from the Moonlight Whispers line.  Isn’t she somethin’?   In the words of my eight-year old, “Where are her pants??”  lol.   The sentiment I used here comes along with the image.

KKWDBBCUI always have such issues trying to capture any kind of sparkle or shine in a photo.  It’s so aggravating.  I suppose I’ll figure it out sooner or later.  I used an orange glitter pen over her outfit and eyeshadow and a black glitter pen as eyeliner.  A clear 3-d glaze pen made her lips and shoes extra shiny.

I’ll be back tomorrow!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!
