It’s JiFFy Time!!

Hi everyone!  It’s time for my JiFFy friends to get together once again for our JiFFy challenge!  (JiFFy as in Just For Fun.)

This month Lori sent to everyone this yummy warm “Cinnamon” paper from Cosmo’s Nutmeg collection.  It was my turn to pick the image, but before I had given it much thought, Kim (from My Favorite Things) graciously offered to sponsor us this month, providing a Pure Innocence set to everyone in the group.  I chose Snow Day.  (Thank you SO much, Kim!)  I love all the Pure Innocence images so I was thrilled to be using this one for our challenge.  🙂

You Warm my Heart

I stamped my girl onto an MFT Cream Perfect Paper Panel, colored with Copics and then added lots of texture with crocheted lace trim, a felt button, scallopy border and some faux stitching.

Be sure to check out what the other JiFFy girls did with this same paper and image!  I can’t wait to see!  🙂

It’s JiFFy Time!

Hi everyone!  It’s time for our October Just For Fun challenge with the JiFFy girls!  We’re a little late but that’s ok.  We’ll catch up!

This month Alli selected paper from My Mind’s Eye Colorful Christmas Collection.  Once it was in the mail to each of us and before anyone knew what she had chosen, Julie selected Papertrey Ink’s Autumn Abundance.   I love the paper (so cute!) and I love the image but what a challenge this time!  I wasn’t sure how in the world I was going to make Christmas/winter paper work with a bouquet of mums.   So I ended up using the back sides of the two wintry patterns.

Thanks Just Doesn’t Seem Like Enough

I wanted to try to make my pitcher of flowers look like it’s sitting on a table with a cloth.  I used a craft knife to carefully cut around the bottom of the pitcher, slid my orange paper beneath, added the lace trim and matted the image.

Be sure to check out the other JiFFy girls to see what they did with the same paper and image!

It’s JiFFy Time!

Hi everyone!  It’s time for another Just For Fun challenge with my JiFFy friends!  🙂

As a quick reminder of how our challenge works, one JiFFy girl selects and mails the paper to each of us, then another JiFFy girl selects and reveals the image before any of us (including the image picker) receives the paper.  So each month, none of us knows what we’ll be using until we have it.   Fun, right?

This month Julie chose this really cute dotted-on-one-side/floral-on-the-other Memory Box “Just Chillin” paper while Kim chose Memory Box’s Twizzle Tree.  And as an extra nice surprise, Ellen of Ellen Hutson LLC decided to treat each of us with the stamp.  How sweet is that?  Thank you so much, Ellen!  🙂

Thanks

       JFFTTT

I chose to use only the dotted side of the paper, adding some flower lace trim underlined by thin strips of the Crabapple cardstock.  I wanted just a pop of color so I added a lime green button over my bow.

Be sure to check out what the other JiFFy girls did with this same paper and image!  I can’t wait to see for myself!  I love this challenge.  🙂

It’s a JiFFy Kind of Day

It’s that time again!  The JiFFy girls have been a little bit “folksy” this month…as opposed to a little bit country or rock n’ roll.  Now you’ll have Marie and Donny Osmond singing in your head all day…if you’re old enough to remember that.  😉

This month Alli chose the bird image from Unity’s July kit of the month, “A Pocket Full of…” and Carole chose Graphic 45’s “Hot Tomato” from their Times Nouveau Collection.  I think it’s a perfect match.  (I’m still waiting for that really IMperfect match. (I know it’s coming…sooner or later.)

Happy Day

   UHDBB2

I colored my bird with Copics and then sponged the edges with distress ink.  I used a black 3-d gel pen on the bird’s eye, the solid dots on her UHDBBCUtail and the centers of the x’s on her body.

Be sure to check out what Julie, Kim, Alli and Lori did with the same image and paper.   (Carole is taking a bit of a break.)

What Time is It? It’s JiFFy Time!

Yep, the Jiffy girls have another challenge to share!  This time around Lori chose this adorable (and very popular) Daisy image by Sugar Nellie.  And before she revealed her image to us, I mailed to everyone “Sun Dress” and “Strawberry Patch” patterned paper from Basic Grey’s new Lemonade collection.

It’s Been a While

      SNIBAW

I used a combination of Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils to color my image.  The girl’s hair, skin and the background were colored with Copics and the rest was done with pencils.

I shredded the paper edges a bit and then used my psychotic sewing machine to add some stitching.  Normally if my machine is acting wonky,  I would murmur some choice words and start over, but since the card is kind of scrappy, I decided the stitching could stay kind of cr@ppy.

Be sure to check out what the other JiFFy girls have done with this same image and paper:

Julie, Carole, Lori and Alli.  (Kim has a lot going on this month so she had to sit this one out.  She’ll be back though! 🙂 )

The JiFFy Girls are Back!

Time for another Just For Fun challenge with my JiFFy friends!  This month Kim sent everyone “Slate” from Crate Paper’s Little Sprout Collection.  And Carole (appropriately 🙂 ) chose Cuddle up Carter by My Favorite ThingsCuddle up Carter was designed as a charity set to benefit kids with Cerebral Palsy (like Carole’s son, Carter) via the non-profit Euro-Peds clinic (www.europeds.org) in Pontiac, Michigan.   My Favorite Things is donating $2 from each set sold through September 2009.  How awesome is that?

Sweet Little Boy

I broke out the Prismacolor pencils for this one.  I wanted a softer look than I get from my Copics.  (I’m impatiently awaiting the availability of those lighter colors!)  Anyway, I roughened the edges a bit and sponged with some distress ink (mostly to tone down the brightness of the teal paper) and added some stitching.

Be sure to check out Lori, Julie, Kim, Carole and Alli‘s projects using these same papers and images.  As always, I can’t wait to see!

It’s JiFFy Time!

Yes, it’s time for another Just For Fun challenge with the Jiffy girls…Julie, Lori, Alli, Carole and myself.  And guess what?!   I’m happy to say we have a new Jiffy girl…our friend, Kim Hughes!  We’re super-excited to have her join us!     Welcome, Kim!!!

This month Lori chose these two lovely Pink Paislee papers.  (Gorgeous!)  Once the paper was in the mail to the group (but before anyone received it), I chose this frazzled owl by Whimsy Stamps.  Little did I know that Carole has a big aversion to birds, specifically owls.  So, sorry Carole!  But just for the record, if I could have found a way to make this owl’s head turn 360 degrees, I would have done that…JUST FOR YOU!!!  😉

It’s been lovely BUT…

       JFFIBL

I very often feel like screaming…like when my daughter insists on wearing half of last year’s Halloween costume to school.  How about my kids’ incessant arguing, name-calling and tattling.  I’m pretty sure I screamed about the  education my children received from the graffitied walls of a Johnny Potty this weekend.    Yeah.  That was especially nice.   Or how about when I realized that I glued the trim on this card wrong side up.  Oh well.  It is what it is.

Be sure to check out what Julie, Carole, Alli, Lori and Kim have done with this same image and paper.  As always, I can’t WAIT to see!  🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!  Have a great day!

Just For Fun :)

It’s time for another challenge with the JiFFy Girls…Carole, Lori, Alli, Julie and me!  I look forward to this challenge every month.  One of us chooses paper and once it is en route to everyone, another of us reveals her choice of the image we are to use.  SO much fun!  🙂

This month Julie selected this adorable Sugar Nellie image, Day Dreamer, and for the paper Alli chose “Sliced Leek” (lol) from the Minestrone Collection by Jillabean Soup.

Hi

CHFOFP

I popped up my window, the girl and the flower in the girl’s hair.  The birds were colored and cut from vanilla cardstock and adhered over the “wallpaper” with the tails bent slightly forward.  I created a big “sunflower” using a felt flower button (from Ellen Hutson, LLC) and olive cardstock.  I was a bit stumped as to how to incorporate a sentiment so I made a little “hi” sign and tucked it into the window.

After making the card and finishing the inside, I had a bit of the paper left so I decided to make a coordinating envelope as well.

Be sure to check in with Carole, Lori, Alli and Julie to see what they’ve created using the same image and paper.  I can’t wait to see!

Just For Fun (Unity-style)

WOOHOO!  It’s time for our monthly challenge with the JiFFy girls… Lori, Carole, Alli and Julie!  And this month we have a special guest, Sharon Harnist!  🙂   Lori is visiting with Sharon and made her card there, so we thought it would be perfect for Sharon to play along too!  (Thanks for saying “yes,” Sharon!)

This month Lori chose this adorable image from Unity called Neighborhood of Simplicity which can be found in the Pixie Lane set.  For this month’s paper, I chose My Mind’s Eye Bloom & Grow Eye Candy (and then covered up most of it).  Rolling Eyes

The Road to a Friend’s House

     RTAFH

I colored the image with Copics (and have had several questions as to which colors I’m using so I will *try* to remember to include that information from now on in the card supply list).  The entire front panel is raised on pop dots, as is the main image (from the Saffron panel up).

Be sure to check out what Lori, Carole, AlliJulie and Sharon have done with the same image and paper! 🙂   (I love these challenges!)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Just For Fun-Bittybloom Style

Hi everyone!  It’s time for our monthly Just For Fun challenge with Carole, Alli, Lori and Julie.  If you’re just popping into our challenge for the first time, here’s how it works.  Each month one of us sends the same patterned paper to all and once the paper is en route, the image chooser reveals her choice to the group before she receives the paper.   It could make for an interesting challenge if the paper isn’t just right for the image, but so far we’ve had good matches.  I know….one of these times…but that’s what makes it fun.  The surprises! And it is Just For Fun.  🙂

A Wonderful Friend

        URAWF

I was thrilled when Alli chose the very sweet Bluebell Bittybloom by Stamping Bella as our image this month.  All of the Bittyblooms are just adorable.

Julie sent to everyone paper from Cosmo Cricket’s new Girl Friday line.  We used “Saturday.”  Love it!

BBBBCUI paper-pieced my Bittybloom with the dotted paper, coloring in her socks, shirt and top of her hat with an olive marker.  I wanted my embellishments to be small, like the Bittybloom, so I added two thin strips of olive cardstock with tiny buttons on the one side.

My sentiment is from Anna’s fabulous Friendly Expressions set.

Head on over to see what Alli, Julie, Carole and Lori have done with the same supplies!  I can’t wait to see!  🙂

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!
