Be sure to visit each of the MFT Designers’ November Product Launch posts linked on the MFT Blog and leave a comment by the end of the day on Thursday, November 13 for your chance to win one of two $100 Gift Vouchers. (You can do some fun shopping with $100!) The winners will be chosen at random and the prizes will be sent out on November 14th.

I have three cards to share tonight, all using Birdie Brown’s new Cool Day.  On my first card, I used masking paper to “layer” the images.  The flags and die-cut elements are all from Blueprints 20.

Warm-Wishes-Bear-475

All stamping was done on a panel of X-Press It Blending Card then colored with Copic markers.  I used soft Sno Cone ink to add the snowflakes in the background.

Warm-Wishes-Bear-CU

Inside, I added elements from Blueprints 20 and stamped the second bear from the set.

Warm-Wishes-Bear-In

Next I added in Cool Day Die-namics, snow stamped with Swiss Dots Background and Sweet Tooth ink and a frame cut using two Rounded Stitched Rectangles.

Stay-Warm-Bears-500

The frame was cut by taping two rectangle dies together before die-cutting.

Stay-Warm-Bears-CU

I used another rectangle inside and stamped a second sentiment onto the sign.

Stay-Warm-Bears-In

Lastly, I used the quilt frame from Blueprints 20 to create a window.  The snowflakes were stamped with Sweet Tooth ink before adhering the window frame.

Stay-Warm-Window-500b

I dotted a Copic Colorless Blender Pen over the bear’s sweater after coloring to add a bit of texture.

Stay-Warm-Window-CU

Inside, I used a panel cut from Blueprints 20 and stamped the little mittens in the corner.

MFT November Preview – Stitched with Love

Hi everyone!  I’m back today with another sample of MFT‘s November release, this time using Stitched with Love with coordinating Die-namics by Miss Tiina.  ♥

hope-youre-on-the-mend-500

I stamped patterns from Cozy Mittens onto two Pinking Edge Square STAX and one Pinking Edge Rectangle STAX.  The needle was die-cut from silver card stock and I used a black Copic Multi-liner to connect the thread from the needle to the word “mend,” as well as to add the little thread line going into the needle hole.

Inside, I added another line of stitches with hearts from Cozy Mittens.

Paper Flowers Made Easy, a Craftsy Tutorial

Hi everyone! If you’re looking for today’s MFT release sample, you can find that HERE.  (It’s my favorite of the whole release.  Just sayin…)

I recently began a new adventure – writing tutorials for Craftsy, an online community featuring hundreds of classes from gardening to drawing, knit/crochet, photography, jewelry making, cake decorating, paper crafts and more.  There are also blogs based on various interests with posts highlighting tips, tricks, techniques, etc. You can check out the list of blogs HERE.  (Choose a topic on the right.)  I think you should choose paper crafts.  😉

Paper Flowers Made Easy

I’ve written an easy step-by-step tutorial with lots of pictures explaining how to make a pretty dimensional paper flower.  I hope you’ll check it out.  If you have a moment, please feel free to leave a comment there to let me know what you think.  🙂

Grateful-for-You-Flower-500I used one of my favorite flower dies from MFT, Plentiful Petals, with Leaf Filled Flourish.

Thanks for stopping by today!  🙂

MFT November Previews — Warmest Wishes

Hi everyone!  We’re moving right along with only four more days until MFT‘s November 11 release!  🙂  My card today features Birdie Brown’s Warmest Wishes stamp set with Blueprints 20.

This might be my favorite of this month’s releases.  I just adore her.  🙂

Warmest-Wishes-BBD-500

She was stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copic markers. The quilt patches and stitches were cut using Blueprints 20 and Natural card stock with the light blue pieces colored with a Copic marker.

Warmest-Wishes-BBD-CU

Inside, I used the opposite pieces cut to create the front pieces (no waste here) and added a second sentiment.

MFT November Previews — Don We Now Our Ugly Sweaters

Hi everyone!  I’m back with two samples today using My Favorite Things‘ November 11 release!  (Only five more days!)

Up first, ugly sweater.  When I saw the sweater sentiment in new Cozy Greetings stamp set, I just had to use it.  🙂  So funny.  I’ve paired it here with Comfy Sweater Die-namics, Sweater Stitch Background and Blueprints 20.  The tree was stamped from Christmas Cuteness, one of last month’s releases.

Ugly-Sweater-500

The tree was colored with Copic markers, then multicolored rhinestones were added as ornaments.  (No offense to the tree, I think it’s cute.  Just not on a sweater.)  😉

I used a couple of elements from Blueprints 20 inside and stamped another Cozy Greeting in Black Licorice dye ink.

Ugly-Sweater-In

On my second card, I used Sweater Stitch Background stamped with Natural and Nordic Knits stamped atop in Nightshift Blue ink.  The mittens were stamped and die-cut using new Cool Day stamp and Die-namics with the inside pieces of the mitten strings removed using a craft knife.

Warm-&-Cozy-500

I used a leftover strip of Sweater Stitch/Nordic Knits on the inside, leaving plenty of room for a “warm” message.

MFT November Previews — Sending a Flurry of Love

Hi everyone!  Welcome back to a second day of November 11 release previews with My Favorite Things!  Today I’ve used new Birdie Brown Warmest Wishes with coordinating Die-namics, Stitched Rounded Rectangle STAX and this month’s Free with $60 purchase, Stitched Scallop Edges.  (My card from yesterday was posted a bit late so if you missed it, you can find it here.  Thanks!)  🙂

Sending-a-Flurry-of-Love-500b

I can’t tell you how much I love this image.  She is SO sweet!  She was stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card, colored with Copic markers and die-cut with Warmest Wishes Die-namics.  The rectangle was stamped and sponged with Sweet Tooth ink then cut about 1 1/2″ from the top.  The split is hidden beneath the sentiment strip, giving the appearance of an elongated rectangle.

Sending-a-Flurry-of-Love-CU

I cut the rectangle on the inside as well and stamped the silhouette using Kraft ink.

Bless You

Hi everyone.  I’m back today with a card using this week’s sketch with My Favorite Things.  I’ve gone back to my “road card roots” with Grand Peaceful Wildflowers and Words of Inspiration with Burlap and Romantic Script Backgrounds.

Bless-You-500

After stamping the flowers with Brick Red, Paver Red, Factory Green and Banana Split inks, I stamped Burlap Background with Natural ink.  Behind that panel, I stamped Romantic Script using Kraft.  All edges were sponged with Chocolate Brown then distressed.
The sentiment is from Words of Inspiration, stamped in Chocolate Brown ink and framed using Circle STAX 1 and 2.

Bless-You-cu201

Inside, I stamped a second flower and partial sentiment from Words of Inspiration.  (It’s a truly lovely sentiment set.)
