MFT Previews, Day 6 – Happy Birthday, Boys and Girls

Hi everyone!  Welcome to Day 6 of July previews with My Favorite Things! Only one more day until all of our fab releases are available!

I have two fun birthday cards to share today, one for a girl and one for a boy. My first uses new Jumbo Party Hat and Happy Birthday Die-namics.

I used Happy Birthday Die-namics to die-cut letters from Banana Split, Sour Apple, Berrylicious and Razzle Berry card stock.  The hat is raised on foam tape, as is the two-layer poof at the top.

Inside, I added “2” from By the Numbers and “u” from By the Letters Uppercase Die-namics.  The swirls, from Party Balloons, were stamped in Razzle Berry, Berrylicious and new Banana Split ink.

My second card, more on the masculine side, uses Party Balloons stamp set and Die-namics and the negative space left after die-cutting “happy birthday” from Hot Fudge card stock.  To add a bit of color, I switched out the Hot Fudge circular centers of the letters with Berrylicious and Tangy Orange.

The Party Balloons were stamped in Berrylicious, Hot Fudge and new Tangy Orange ink.  Each balloon is “tied” to the letter openings below with the HB2U balloon raised on foam tape.

Inside, I stamped a sentiment from new Birthday Greetings (Lisa Johnson Designs), adding confetti stamped in Tangy Orange, Berrylicious and Hot Fudge ink.

MFT Previews, Day 5 — Sending Bunches of Birthday Wishes

Hi everyone, and thanks for stopping in for today’s preview of My Favorite Things‘ July release.  🙂

My sample today uses Bunches of Birthday Wishes.  The set comes with the image I’ve used here along with many different sentiments appropriate for birthday, congrats, encouragement, etc.  So cute!  I decided to go the birthday route since I had a particular recipient in mind.

After stamping onto X-Press It Blending Card, coloring with Copics and piecing the balloons, I die-cut around the image using new Pierced Circle STAX (layered atop an Electric Red circle cut using Circle STAX 1).

The sentiment was split and stamped onto two Sentiment Strips 2.  (I adjusted the lengths of the strips as needed by running the stamped/die-cut pieces through my Vagabond a second time.)

The yellow balloon in the front is popped up on a (thinner) Kool Tak Clear Foam Square while the entire front panel as a whole is popped up on (thicker) X-Press It Foam Tape.

I love those little piercings around the circle!

Inside, I stamped the image as well as a sentiment from Lisa Johnson’s new Birthday Greetings using Black Licorice ink.

MFT Previews, Day 4 – i’m happy for YOU

Hi everyone! Welcome to Day 4 of July previews with My Favorite Things. Today I’ve used new Bold Statements along with Blueprints 5 (which just might be my favorite so far of the Blueprints die sets).

I’ve used Blu Raspberry and Berrylicious card stocks, offset by Black Licorice with the sentiment stamped onto Smooth White.  I first stamped the sentiment in Blu Raspberry and then Black Licorice ink.  In the center of the O in YOU, I placed a blue enamel dot from My Mind’s Eye.

Inside, I stamped a sentiment from new Birthday Greetings (Lisa Johnson Designs) and added a couple more elements from Blueprints 5.

MFT Previews, Day 3 — keep it cool

Hi everyone! We’re moving on with Day 3 of July previews with My Favorite Things.  Today I’ve used super-cute Doodle Garden Take the Plunge.

After stamping my image onto X-Press It Blending Card and coloring with Copics, I die-cut several elements using Blueprints 5.  The layout is one of those suggested on the BP5 accompanying PDF.

Base card stock and flower were cut from Electric Red with the sentiment stamped using Black Licorice ink.

I used the larger rectangle from BP5 to die-cut the Sweet Tooth panel for the inside, then added a scrap of patterned paper and stamped a silhouette of the cute little swimmer for a quick finish.  🙂

Crafty Friends – MFT July Previews!

Hi everyone! It’s time to share samples using My Favorite Things‘ July release! SO much fun!  🙂  My card today uses one of our new Pure Innocence sets, Crafty Friends.

After stamping my image onto X-Press It Blending Card, I colored with Copics, then die-cut using elements from new Blueprints 5.  My image panel is layered atop Orange Fizz card stock with the flower cut from Sour Apple card stock.  I used Peek-a-Boo Dots Die-namics with Sweet Tooth card stock, placing a piece of Sour Apple behind for the dots to show through.

In the center of the flower, I stitched a Lemon Drop button using white string.  I used Glossy Accents on her barrette and placed a thin foam square beneath the left edge of the flower for balance.

On the inside, I die-cut another strip of Peek-a-Boo Dots and stamped a silhouette using Orange Fizz ink.
