Sparkle and Shine

It’s time for another challenge with Kraftin Kimmie Stamps! This week I am challenging everyone to sparkle and shine!  Add sparkles or anything that just shines.  Easy?

Here I’ve used O Holy Night Nativity set by Cheryl Alger with a sentiment from Kimmie’s new Nativity Sentiments set.

After coloring my image with Copics, I added lots of sparkle using my Buttermilk Spica glitter pen.  And just for good measure, I used a bit of my life-time supply of shiny gold twine (purchased long ago from my Stampin’ Up days).  I don’t think I will EVER run out of that stuff.  Why it is (was?) sold in such HUGE quantity, I have no idea.

You can find more sparkly projects HERE on the Krafty Blog.  If you’d like to play along, be sure to post a link to your creation there on the Krafty Blog for your chance to win the image I’ve used today (plus one sentiment from the set–NOT the one I used here).

In other KKS news, you can find this week’s Frugal Friday Specials HERE and info on the next Kraftin Kimmie Krafty Day HERE.  In case you haven’t heard, KK’s very own Annie Rodrigue will be there!  What I wouldn’t give to meet her.  But I cannot go.  It’s a bit far…being in another country.   🙁  But maybe YOU can go.  Check it out!  🙂

I’ll be back soon!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

MFT October New Product Tour

Hi everyone!  Welcome to the My Favorite Things New Product Tour!  This month (and from this release forward), instead of a blog hop, each of our design team members will be focusing on one of our new sets and/or Die-namics.  On Kim’s blog you will see a list of designers, their product focus and all pertinent links, all in one place.   As usual, there is blog candy hidden among one of our blogs, so be sure to leave comments as you “tour” to better your chances of winning!

My focus today is on our new and totally fabulous à la modes set, Fight Like a Girl.

Not only is this one of my favorite of our new releases, but I think this is my favorite of all my samples for the month.

I colored with Copics, then stamped the gloves a second time, colored and cut out, raising each on a foam booster. If you look closely you will see that I added to the shorts a tiny pink stamped ribbon using the smaller of the two ribbons from this month’s Who’s That Girl Chooses Hope set.

The tag from our Notched Tag Die-namics and Stamp Set was perfect for attaching the short sentiment.

On the inside, I used another sentiment from the set and the larger ribbon from Who’s That Girl Chooses Hope.  Along the bottom (and along the left side on the front of my card) I tucked a strip of Simply Scallops Die-namics.

All of our new products are available right now, right HERE in our new and improved MFT Boutique.  Please refer back to Kim’s blog for direct links to more samples.

Thanks SO  much for stopping by!  Have a great evening!  🙂

MFT Teasers, Day 7

Hi everyone!  Today is the last day of previews of My Favorite Things’ October release!  It’s almost time for you to grab all your favorite brand spankin’ new products.  But first we have one final round of focus on all of our new Die-namics for October!

You’re So Incredibly Tweet

Here I’ve used Contempo Bird Cage Die-namics and Stamp Set along with our new Postage Border Die-namics

After die-cutting my cage, I die-cut two birds, one from patterned paper and one from black cardstock.  The bird is adhered over the cage with foam boosters, and the wing is raised on a booster as well.

Above the sentiment, I placed a strip of Postage Border with a small black rhinestone placed in each “scoop.”

Our October release will take place TONIGHT, October 4th, at 10 p.m. EST.  You can attend the release party from 8 – 10 p.m. EST here in the forum for fun, games, prizes and the announcement of our next Guest Designer!

We hope you’ll join us tonight at 10 p.m. EST immediately following the release party for our October New Product Tour.  All info will be posted on Kim’s Blog.  See you then!  Have a great day!

MFT Teasers, Day 6

It’s almost time for the My Favorite Things October release!  Tomorrow night at 10 p.m. EST all the fun new sets and Die-namics will be available!  Only one more day!  🙂

Teaser prizes continue so be sure to leave comments on each and every post to increase your chances of winning!  (You can find a list of participating DT here.)

Today we’re sharing samples of the five new Pure Innocence images.  They are all SO cute, I had a hard time deciding which to post today.

I chose Pumpkin Patch Girl. I used Cloud Trio Die-namics for the sentiment, lining each cloud with a chocolate die-cut.  To add dimension, I placed foam boosters beneath the outermost (sentiment) cloud.  Beneath the houndstooth print, I placed a Little Open Scallop Strip.

After piecing her outfit, I added shading with a gray marker.  (Cutting out the pants from that pattern drove me a bit nuts.  I was starting to see it in 3-d.  Do you remember those prints?  The ones you’d stare at for minutes at a time and finally see mountains or a dolphin?  Or a geometric figure?  I wasn’t expecting  anything to pop out of her pants (lol) but the pattern was getting to me.  Maybe I was just tired.)   🙂

From a scrap of green cardstock, I cut out tiny leaf-ish shapes, then wrapped wire around a pin and inserted in the pumpkin stem through a small poked hole.  I used tape on the back to secure the wire ends.

On the inside I used a sentiment from another PI set, Li’l Pumpkin.

MFT Teasers, Day 5

Hi everyone!  Today the My Favorite Things team is sharing samples of our two new à la modes!  EEK!  I love them!   (By the way, have you checked out the new My Favorite Things boutique?  HOLY WOW!  It is FABULOUS!!)

Teaser prizes continue so be sure to comment on each and every post to maximize your chances of winning!  You can find a list of direct links for all participating DT (and guest) HERE

Meet our Sweetest Pumpkin in the Patch.  Isn’t she CUTE?

Along the bottom of the orange patterned panel, I tucked a die-cut strip of Solid Bracket Border Die-namics(It was already cut and I figured I might as well use it since I was using the same color cardstock.)

I stamped and colored her pumpkin a second time so I could pop it up.  I omitted the curly vine (on the stamp) and instead adhered two pieces of 26- gauge wire.  To curl the wire, I simply wrapped it around a bamboo stick several times and then cut the pieces to the desired length.  Tape secures the wire ends to the back of the pumpkin.

And yes, I purposely cut the sentiment tabs so the right ends are wider than the left (in case you were wondering…or noticed).  🙂

LOVE this set!  🙂
