à la modes, Preview 1

Hi everyone!  It’s time to preview one of my favorite lines by My Favorite Things — à la modes.

In the past, we’ve released our à la modes images in cling rubber.  However, this month, we’re releasing both of our à la modes in clear photopolymer, just like the rest of our stamps.  This means that we can bring them to you at a slightly lower price point than usual – $9.00 each.  How fabulous is that?!  Since our clear stamps are made in the USA, they are of the highest quality, so you’ll have the same great image quality that you’re accustomed to with any of our other clear stamps!  Sweet deal right?  I think so.

Hi

Today we’re previewing I Need Some Facetime (Thanks to my kids and their iPods, I know what “facetime” is.)

How cute is she?  I wish my legs were that long and thin. Well, maybe not THAT long.

On the inside, I stamped a second sentiment from the set along with a partial silhouette of the image.

Along the bottom (inside and out), I used MFT’s Scallop Ribbon Die-namics (cut in half lengthwise, using each half as a border), and on the ribbon I used one of the buttons die-cut using Button Quartet Die-namics.

The two new à la modes, as well as the WTG VIP, will be available tomorrow night (5/17) at 10 p.m. EST.

You can find direct links to more previews using this adorable set HERE on Kim’s blog.  We’ll be back tomorrow with samples using the second new à la modes!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

When you’re done hopping, be sure to head over to the Kraftin’ Kimmie shop because all of the new images are NOW available!

Friends to the Finish!

Today I’ve used Carole, one of our fab new sporty girls from the Moonlight Whispers line.

I colored with markers and added just a bit of ground with pencils.  I had bits and pieces of a bright pink flourish so I put together a little “woosh” coming from Carole’s feet (because she’s fast).  I had an extra little crystal so I adhered it to the center of my blue flower pin.

Your next stop along the hop is with my incredibly fabulous Krafty friend (and Krafty Girl) DONNA!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Happy hopping…and shopping!  🙂

Stamps:  Kraftin Kimmie ”Carole” (Moonlight Whispers)    Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black    Paper:  Prism Intense Azalea, Papertrey Vintage Cream, My Mind’s Eye Lime Twist “Happy Go Lucky”  (6×6)    Accessories:   Copic markers (E000, E00, E11, E31, E35, RV06, RV34, YG91, YG93, YG95, Y21, YR23, C1, BG0000), Prismacolor pencils, Zva Creative cyrstal flourish, Little Yellow Bicycle pin, May Arts ribbon.  Finished size  5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″.

Be Flexible

For my preview, I’ve chosen to use Mandy.  She comes with the sentiments “Be Flexible” and  “Time to Relax.”

I’ve pieced Mandy’s shirt and pants and colored the rest with Copics (same as usual).  🙂

Hi everyone!  I’ve been chomping at the bit to share a sample using a brand new line available from Kraftin Kimmie!  Yes, there’s a new artist in the house and she is FABBY!   Her name is Cheryl Alger.  You may recognize her name from Sassy Cheryl’s where she creates digital art. Cheryl is creating a brand new line of images specifically for Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps. These stamps will only be available at Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps and only as unmounted rubber stamps.

Additionally, if you leave comments today as you hop from blog to blog (list of participating Krafty Girls and Guests HERE), you might win all three of Cheryl’s new images!  Free!  Just for commenting!  The winner will be randomly selected tomorrow.  Check out the Krafty Blog HERE tomorrow for YOUR name!  🙂

Today we are debuting Spring Friends, Little Summer Girl and Little Summer Boy.

Wishing You a Sunny Day!

Today I’ve used Spring Friends.  The image actually comes with the sentiment “Spring Friends” but I chose to use the one that comes along with Little Summer Girl

I love this little Raggedy Ann-ish girl. So cute.  I colored her with markers and pieced the dotted portion of her dress.

I ran an E31 Copic over my red/white gingham to give it a vintage feel, then pulled the ends apart just a bit to create a distressed look.

All of Kimmie’s May images will be available Sunday, May15 at 1 a.m. EST.   And again, you can find a list of direct links to other Krafty Girls and Guests previewing today’s new images HERE.  Don’t forget to comment for your chance to win!

Dude…U Rock!

It’s time for another sketch with My Favorite Things!  This one actually gave me a bit of a fit, but once I flippped it, it was a bit easier.

DUDE…U Rock!

For this week’s sketch, I used Skater Boy (Pure Innocence) and Typewriter Alpha

I pieced his shirt, colored the rest with marker, then cut him out and adhered him over an oval die cut from one of the pieces from MFT’s Layered Label Die-Namics.  I cut and layered two additional pieces to provide a bit more contrast behind the yellow/gray oval.  The banner was created using the Fishtail Banner Die-namics.

On the inside, I created my sentiment using the Typewriter Alpha and used leftover pieces cut from the patterns used on the card front.

You can find direct links to DT samples HERE on the MFT blog.  The info is also posted in the MFT Forum in SCS.  (Look for the most recent WSC thread numbered 19.)   And remember, if you upload your card to the SCS gallery using the keyword shown on the sketch, you will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money!  One winner is chosen at random each week.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!  🙂

Stamps:  My Favorite Things “Skater Boy” (Pure Innocence) and Typewriter Alpha   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black   Paper:  Stampin Up Bravo Burgundy, Papertrey Ink Vintage Cream, Lily Bee Designs This & That and Happily Lost (6×6)   Accessories:   Copic markers (E50, E51, E11, E35, E57, W1, W3, W5, W7, R59, YR23), MFT Fishtail Banner and Layered Label Die-namics, American Crafts brads, jute string, Zva Creative flourish, foam boosters.  Finished size 5″ x 5″.

Happy Birthday (Southwestern Style)

Hi everyone!  Tomorrow is my father-in-law’s birthday and so I thought I’d share the card I sent him. He has already received it so I won’t be spoiling anything.  (And even if he hadn’t yet received it, my in-laws still have dial-up so I’m fairly certain they aren’t checking out my blog every day.  I wouldn’t. lol.)

Happy Birthday!

I’ve colored Fred Bear (from Fred Bear Out West by My Favorite Things) the same way I colored him the last time.  As a matter of fact, I knew I’d be using the same papers, so I simply colored a second image right after the first and saved it.

I used MFT’s Star Border Dienamics, then used two jump rings to “hang” the birthday sentiment from the openings in the stars.  The sentiment and cupcake are from Fred Bear Has a Birthday.  (And the cupcake is popped up on a foam booster.)

On the inside, I stamped the second sentiment and bear from Fred’s birthday set.

Thanks for stopping by!  I have lots of ‘stuff’ coming up in the next week, so I’ll be back soon!

Stamps:  My Favorite Things “Fred Bear Out West” and “Fred Bear Has a Birthday”  Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Ranger Walnut Stain Distress    Paper:  Papertrey Ink Dark Chocolate, MFT cream Perfect Paper Panel, Cosmo Cricket Wanted (6×6)   Accessories:   Copic markers (E31, E33, E35, E18, E08, W1, W3, W5, YG91, YG93, Y15, Y0000, B0000, W00), MFT Star Border Die-namics, K & Company Metal Art, jump rings.  Finished size 5″ x 5″.

Getting Krafty with Kraftin Kimmie (and a SALE)!

Hi everyone!  Time for another challenge with Kraftin Kimmie.  This week Tracyhas asked us all to use kraft in our projects.  Easy enough.  🙂

Wishing You a Berry Nice Day

For my card this week, I’ve used Stella Strawberry and her accompanying sentiment.

As usual, I colored with Copics and added ground with pencils.

I seem to be on a “pin” kick lately, picking up different ones here and there as I come across them.   Here I’ve pierced my sentiment with a Tim Holtz memo pin (love those), tying a scrap of gingham to the top.  The ribbon was actually brown and white.  I used an E31 Copic for a quick change to brown and cream.

To see more kraft-y samples, head on over to the challenge blog here.  If you decide to play along, be sure to post a link to your creation on the challenge blog for your chance to win a free stamp from Kraftin Kimmie!

Give it a Shot…and a Winner From the Hop!

TGIF!  I don’t know about where you are, but it’s gorgeous here.  I sure wish I could open the windows and let the day in.  Unfortunately, we have too many allergies at the moment so that’s not going to happen.

I’ve been wanting to play with MFT‘s new I Get a Kick Out of You set from the Pure Innocence line. I finally had a (wee) bit of time.   (But I *need* to get crackin’ on some other things…yikes.  Where does the time go?)

Give it a Shot!

This is an unusually flat card.  Mine are typically rather thick and bulky.  I used no embellishments.  (Gasp!)   The layout is from MFT’s Wednesday Stamp Club (Sketch 17).

I did, however, use three of MFT’s Die-namics die-cuts to add a little extra something — Stacking Stars, Star Border and Simply Scallops.

I colored with markers, added grass with pencils and then cut around the one hand with a kraft knife, inserting a little volleyball beneath.  (My coloring is looking a little “watercolor-ish.”  Not sure I like that.)

On the inside, I stamped a silhouette of the girl and used a sentiment from MFT’s Essential Sentiments.

And now for some exciting news (for one person, anyway)!  I was the secret candy holder during our release hop Tuesday night.  My Random Integer Generator has selected #7 – CHRISTINE OKKEN as the winner!  Just for commenting, Christine will receive a $15 gift voucher to be used in the MFT shop.  Big thanks to everyone for stopping by!  🙂

I’ll be back soon!  Have a GREAT day!

You Make Life Sweet

It’s Wednesday and you know what that means…time for another sketch with My Favorite Things.

You Make Life Sweet

This week I’ve used one of MFT’s newest and cutest releases, Pucker Up from the Pure Innocence line.

I used a bit of paper-piecing on the table, shirt and heart barrette.  The little sign was stamped again onto white paper, cut out and adhered.  I placed a tiny brad in place of the tack holding the sign, and I layered two suns, die-cut using MFT’s Sunshine Die-namics.

That fabby paper is from My Mind’s Eye new Lime Twist “Happy Go Lucky” paper pad.  It’s Eva‘s fault.   She made the whole team buy it.  Just kidding.  I *love* these new papers and am so thankful she made me spend my money.  😉

I carried most of the sketch over to the inside, stamped the image again and added the sentiment, bending the stamp to fit the size of the circle.  (One of the advantages of using acrylic stamps.)

You can find direct links to DT samples HERE on the MFT blog.  The info is also posted in the MFT Forum in SCS.  (Look for the most recent WSC thread numbered 18.)   And remember, if you upload your card to the SCS gallery using the keyword shown on the sketch, you will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money!  One winner is chosen at random each week.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!  🙂
