MFTeasers, Day 4

Hi everyone!  The My Favorite Things team is back today sharing samples of two new sets, Inspired by Flowers and Bee Yourself

Wishing You a Beautiful Day

I went against my normal stamping preference and chose Inspired by Flowers.  I really like how this turned out…except for the ribbon. I’m just not sure I’m happy with it.

Along the bottom, I again used the new Dizzy Border Die-namics.

You can better see the detail in the flower here.  Much of the shading is already done for you!  I just kind of dappled in a few shades of pink here and there.

I used one of the beautiful sentiments on the inside.  I love the font.  So pretty.  The little flourish on the sides is from MFT’s new Sassy & Sweet set.  I might as well just leave that one out.  I adore the little flourishes.  Such nice accents.  🙂

Hi everyone!  Time to preview the five new Pure Innocence sets by My Favorite Things!  (They’re ALL adorable…of course.)

You Give Me Warm Fuzzies

Today I’ve used Warm Fuzzies.  Awwww.  She’s so sweet.

I stamped and then colored the girl’s face and hands, then stamped again onto patterned paper.  I cut out the suit (using a kraft knife for the face area) and then dappled a gray marker over the patterned paper to try to add a look of texture.

The border die you see peeking out from beneath the trim is MFT’s new Dizzy Border Die-namics.

Once I die-cut the border, I cut it half, using a piece on the front and a piece on the inside.

The inside sentiment is from Flower Girl.

Scoopy Scallops with Kraftin Kimmie

**Until blog issues are resolved, please press Ctrl-F5 to “hard” refresh if you’d like to make sure you are seeing my latest post.  Thanks!**

Hello again.  It’s time for another challenge with Kraftin Kimmie!   This week I’m your Hostess with the Mostess and I have challenged everyone to use scallops on their card or project.  Easy enough?  I think so.  🙂

You’re Nifty!

This week I chose to use Judy.   My sentiment is one that actually comes with Fanny.  All of the 50’s- themed sentiments are perfectly interchangeable, I think.  🙂

I die-cut two strips of scallops and placed each on the sides of the red lined panel.

(Oh, wow. I didn’t mean to make this pic THAT big. lol.  Don’t look too closely.)  I colored Judy with Copics, and over the sentiment I used another Karen Foster Charm Pin Up brad.   (I’ve yet to use one as intended.)

Be sure to check out the other Krafty Girl samples HERE.  If you’d like to play along, don’t forget to link your card to the Krafty Blog for your chance to win a free Judy stamp from Kraftin Kimmie!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great Saturday!

Stamps:  Kraftin Kimmie ”Judy” (Moonlight Whispers)   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black    Paper:  Papertrey Ink Vintage Cream, Cosmo Cricket Togetherness (6×6)    Accessories:   Copic markers (E000, E00, E11, E31, E33, E35, E57, R12, R20, R24, R27, BG0000, BG01, W1, W3), My Favorite Things Simply Scallops border Die-namics, Karen Foster Charm Pin Up brad, Hero Arts trim.    Finished size x 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.

MFTeasers, Day 2

Hi everyone!  I’m back with another preview from My Favorite Things!  Today the team is sharing samples of Clearly Sentimental about Parenting and Say What? Die-namic Duo (stamp and die combo).

miss U

I chose to use the new Say What?set with coordinating speech bubble Die-namics die.  This is seriously another FUN set!  Two sizes of bubbles, lots of little phrases (some a bit snarky) and more.  A definite ‘must have’.

I die-cut two bubbles using the same size die, then layered, offsetting the bottom bubble to add definition and shadow.  I covered little chipboard houses with patterned paper, sanded the edges and added a bit of  stitching.

The tree top was cut using MFT’s Cloud Trio Die-namics.

On the inside, I layered a second bubble and sentiment, traced a larger chipboard house onto patterned paper, sanded, stitched and added another “tree.”

Welcome to Day 1 of March teasers with My Favorite Things!

Teaser PRIZES begin today so be sure to leave comments as you look around. Each day of teasers, two winners will be randomly selected, one each from two participating blogs.  Each winner will receive a $10 voucher to the MFT Boutique.  Two winners… each day…  just for commenting!  You can find direct links to more samples on Kim’s blog HERE.

Today we’re previewing Fred Bear Oopsie Daisy, Flapper Doodles My Favorite Hello and Sassy & Sweet Stamp set combined with Sweet Stack Die-namics.

I actually created three cards, one from each set, but I haven’t decided yet if I will (ever) share my Flapper Doodle card.  (Flapper Doodles and I just do not get along.)

If Friends Were Flowers…

Here’s Fred Bear, holding his little Oopsie Daisies.  MFT has a new Upsy Daisy Die-namics die this month, but the flowers were a little bigger than I wanted so I used Flower Trio instead.

I split the sentiment a bit, placing the first half on the front, the second half on the top inside and then an additional sentiment along the bottom.

Seriously?

Here I’ve used Sassy & Sweet along with Sweet Stack Die-namics (sold as a combo).   This is a FUN set.  The font is elegant while many of the sentiments are…well, sassy.  My favorites are “Seriously?” and “Whatever.” (Surprised?)

On the inside, I used a sentiment from Twisted Too (currently out of stock).   The little flourish is part of the Sassy & Sweet set.  (I LOVE it!)  🙂

Here are the Die-namics dies I used on both cards.

You Did It! (and an MFT announcement)

**Please press Ctrl-F5 to “hard” refresh if you’d like to make sure you are seeing my latest post. Thanks!**

Hi everyone!  I’ve been crazy busy these last few days but wanted to pop in quickly with a “mailable” graduation card.  My cards are often pretty bulky with lots of doo-dads.  But this time I kept it pretty simple.

Here I’ve used Fred Bear Graduates from My Favorite Things.  Well, Fred Bear didn’t graduate FROM My Favorite Things, but the stamp set is BY My Favorite Things.  *snort*

I tried to keep the card fairly flat, but I just had to add something.  I replaced the stamped diploma with a tiny roll of paper tied with string to match Fred’s gown.  Looking at it now, I wish I’d used a colored piece of paper.  Or a lightly patterned background.  The diploma gets kind of lost on the paper.  Oh well.  Too late.

I kept the inside very simple, stamping a second sentiment and a silhoutte of Fred.

Now for that announcement, in case you haven’t already heard…you’ll have to check out the MFT BLOG.  🙂

MFTeasers begin TOMORROW so you know I’ll be back for that!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Stamps:  My Favorite Things “Fred Bear Graduates”   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black and Desert Sand    Paper:  Papertrey Ink True Black, My Favorite Things cream Perfect Paper Panel, Crate Paper Restoration (6×6)    Accessories:   Copic markers (E31, E33, E35, Y17, R20, BG05, W1, W3, W5), black Sakura 3-d glaze pen (on eyes), string (colored with marker).   Finished size 4 3/4″ x 4 3/4″.

Getting Sketchy, Week 8

**Please press Ctrl-F5 to “hard” refresh if you’d like to make sure you are seeing my latest post. Thanks!**

Hi everyone!  It’s time to get sketchy with My Favorite Things’ Wednesday Stamp Club.  I made two cards this week.  I didn’t really like the first so I made another.  First up is the one I DO like.

I Remembered Your Birthday…a little late

I used my favorite new patterned paper, My Mind’s Eye Stella and Rose “Gertie.”  I’m pretty sure I’m going to need to buy a second pack.

I used MFT’s Textile Rectangle Die-namics & Stamp set along with Simply Scallops Die-namics border.

On the inside, I used a sentiment from Who’s That Harvest Girl…because sometimes it is rotten to remember certain birthdays a little late….sometimes. (I’m guilty.)

And here’s the first card I made (my least fave of the two).  I think it’s just too “old fashioned-ish” for me.

You Fill my Heart with Love

I used Little Angel from the Pure Innocence line.

Along the bottom I used the Faux Crochet border Die-namics (currently out of stock).

On the inside, I used a second sentiment from the set.

You can find direct links to more DT samples HERE on the MFT Blog.  The info is also posted in the MFT forum on SCS.  (Look for the most recent WSC thread numbered 8).  And remember, if you upload your card in the SCS gallery using the keyword shown on the sketch, you will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money!  One winner is chosen at random each week.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Wishing You Luck

**Please press Ctrl-F5 to “hard” refresh if you’d like to make sure you are seeing my latest post. Thanks!**

Hi everyone!  I can’t believe it’s the 20th already!  Sheesh.  Time’s a flyin’!

The à la modes are one of my favorite lines from My Favorite Things, and so I have another to share today.  🙂

This is one of MFT’s newest à la modes, Wishing You Luck.

I colored the image with Copics and paper-pieced the teeny-tiny shirt.  The ribbon was colored/dyed using a Copic as well.  (Easy, perfect match.)

On the inside, I continued the “Wishing You Luck” from the front with “today and always” from MFT’s Clearly Sentimental about Birthdays set.  (It’s not just for birthdays.)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day, and I’ll be back soon!

Stamps:  My Favorite Things “Wishing You Luck” (à la modes)   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black     Paper:  Stampin Up Garden Green, Papertrey Ink Vintage Cream; October Afternoon Modern Homemaker (8×8)    Accessories:   Copic markers (E000, E00, E33, E35, G05, G07, W1, B0000), white tafetta ribbon, button/string, Prismacolor pencils.   Finished size 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.

Wishing You a Berry Nice Day

Hi everyone.  Time for a challenge with Kraftin Kimmie! This week Elaine has provided us with a sketch.  (Whew! Half the work is done.)

Wishing You a Berry Nice Day

Here I’ve used Rebecca Raspberry with the sentiment from Stella Strawberry.  I wasn’t happy with all the white space on each side of the circle so I adhered a small handful of the hundreds of Dew Drops I *needed* long ago.

The papers are new from My Mind’s Eye — Stella and Rose “Gertie”.  I ♥♥♥ all the new MME S&R.  (You need them….)

<– Here’s the sketch if you’d like to play along.  You can find more details and samples HERE on the Krafty blog.  And remember, if you link your project on the Krafty blog, you just might win a free Krafty Quotes #1 set!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Batty in Love

**Please press Ctrl-F5 to “hard” refresh if you’d like to make sure you are seeing my latest post.  (Blog issues.)  Thanks!**

Hello.  🙂  Just popping in with something from Falling for You by Paper Smooches.  I ♥ this set.

Batty in Love

I adore the wonky eyes on the actual bat stamp, but since I included two bats here, I wanted them to be looking at one another.  That just wasn’t going to work with eyeballs going in every direction (although that is actually how I’ve felt these last few days).  Anyway…

After I inked the stamp, I placed a baby wipe over the tip of a somewhat dull pencil and used that covered tip to wipe away the ink from each eye.  I stamped the bat then dotted in the eyeballs again using a marker.

The bats are adhered to the paper using foam boosters. And the sentiment is clear embossed for emphasis.

I’ll be back soon!  Thanks for stopping by!    🙂

Stamps:  Paper Smooches “Falling for You”   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black    Paper:  Papertrey Ink Vintage Cream (base), MME Stella & Rose Hazel (6×6)   Accessories:   Copic markers (W3, W5, R20, R81, R83), crochet trim,  jute, button, clear embossing powder, foam boosters.   Finished size 4 3/4″ x 4 3/4″.
