Time to Celebrate!

**Until blog issues are resolved, please press Ctl-F5 to “hard” refresh if you’d like to make sure you are seeing my latest post.  Thanks!**

Hello.  🙂  I’m back today as promised with a SIMPLE birthday card using another image from Bugaboo.  Not too many doo-dads, just a bit of trim, nothing fancy.

Time to Celebrate!

I love these big ol’ smiley kids.  This image is A Kid’s View Birthday BalloonIsn’t she cute?  I tell ya, there are so many cute images in that store. I  had a hard time narrowing down my selection.

I printed the sentiment from my computer using SNF Goody, a font I purchased a while back from Scrap n’ Fonts (only $3).  The little clippy thingy is a Karen Foster “Charm Pin Up Brad.”  I believe the intention is actually to hang a charm from it, but I turned it upside down and tied a scrap of ribbon around it instead.  I think it works both ways just fine.  🙂

I’ll be back tomorrow with Kimmie’s Saturday Krafty Challenge!  Thanks SO much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Digi-stamp:  Bugaboo “A Kid’s View Birthday Balloon”  Font:  Scrap n’ Fonts SNF Goody   Paper: Papertrey Ink white, American Crafts Enchanted “Sophisticated Jack” and “Gracious Hare”    Accessories: Copic markers (E000, E00, E11, E33, V12, V15, R20, YG91, YG93, YG0000, C1), Prismacolor pencils, 1 1/4″ and 1 3/8″ circle punches, Melissa Francis trim, Karen Foster Charm Pin Up Brad, ribbon, foam booster.  Finished size 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.

I’m the Life of the Party

**Until blog issues are resolved, please press Ctl-F5 to “hard” refresh if you’d like to make sure you are seeing my latest post.  Thanks!**

Hi everyone!  Now that I’m kind of “in between” releases, I wanted to take some time to play.  🙂

This week is Bugab0o‘s FIRST birthday, and although I don’t didn’t have many of their digi-images, this week they’re on sale for 60% off (through January 22nd), so I did a bit of shopping.  It’s all Jeanie‘s fault.  😉   I totally blame her… and her frog (…had to buy that image too).

Bugaboo has challenges all week long and today’s challenge is to make a birthday card.  I’m going with snarky Stella, Life of the Party …because this is almost “me.”  Ok…in a few years, lol.  (I didn’t buy anything TOO snarky, but I did laugh at all of them.  And trust me, I am NEVER the life of the party.  EVER.  I’m a quiet observer.)

I’m the Life of the Party

I  colored her with markers, added a bit of ground with pencils and used an older SFYTT that I’ve used many times before.  (It’s a fave of mine.)

To add just a little extra something, I colored over Stella’s glasses and balloon with a clear 3-d glaze pen.  (Those parts aren’t sparkly, just shiny.)

I’ll be back tomorrow with another Bugaboo birthday card…a very simple one.  (Simple is ok, right?)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Digi-stamp and sentiment:  Bugaboo “Life of the Party”  Paper: Papertrey Ink Dark Chocolate and white, Basic Grey Hopscotch (6×6)   Accessories: Copic markers (E000, E00, E35, E57, R12, R14, YG0000, YG03, YG05, BG0000, BG01, Y11, Y21), Prismacolor pencils, Stampin Up library clip, ribbon scrap, clear Sakura 3-d glaze pen.  Finished size 5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″.

MFT’s WTG Vip Hop

**Until blog issues are resolved, please press Ctl-F5 to “hard” refresh if you’d like to make sure you are seeing my latest post.  Thanks!**

Hi everyone!   Welcome to the My Favorite Things mid-month release hop!  If you’ve just popped in here, you might want to go back to the beginning with Kim.  If you’ve just come from Jody, then you’re right on track.

Available for one day only and in limited quantities is this month’s WTG, My How You’ve Grown VIP Collection.   Along with the WTG set you will receive Sweet Beginnings (VIP exclusive stamp set never to be offered again, $9 value, free), Simply Scallops Die-namics die, My Mind’s Eye Tickled Pink 6×6 patterned paper pad and My Mind’s Eye Tickled Pink Bling, all for $36.90 (available HERE).

Also available are the two new à la modes sets, Oh Baby! and Something’s Fishy

Trust Yourself

I colored with markers, added a paper-pieced shirt and layered some crocheted trim with white string and a buttoned bow.

On the inside, I used my favorite sentiment from the set.  I thought this would be a great one to send to a new mom.  I remember the uncertainty and worry of certain situations, having a new baby and ALL this new responsibility.  After 11 years, I still sometimes feel that way.  But it all works out and you really do know more than you think you do.  🙂

There are sweet “pulling on the heartstrings” kinds of sentiments in this set, and in conjunction with the Sweet Beginnings set, it’s a definite keeper!

Your next stop along the hop is with KERRY.  I can’t wait to see what she has to share!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Happy hopping!

Stamps:  My Favorite Things “My How You’ve Grown” (WTG)    Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black   Paper: Papertrey Ink White, American Crafts Dear Lizzy Enchanted “Fashionable Peony” and “Gentle Badger” and City Park “Bay Park”   Accessories:  Copic markers (E0000, E000, E00, E31, Y21, YR23, C00, BG0000), Prismacolor pencils, Melissa Francis trim, Prima flourish, ribbon, button, string, sewing machine.  Finished size 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″.

Hi everyone!  The My Favorite Things team is back today to share samples of the second new à la modes set, Something’s Fishy.  EEK! I love it!   The two new à la modes will be available tonight at 10 p.m. EST along with the new WTG VIP.

That’s Just Crappie

Is she cute or what??  The set comes with the sentiment I’ve used here plus “Feeling a little green around the gills?” and “Something’s Fishy…”    I just had to go with the crappie one.  🙂

I colored with markers and added some ground with pencils.

Along the bottom, I used a brand new Die-namics border die, Simply Scallops, which will be available tonight as part of the WTG VIP package and then not again until the release on February 1st.

For the inside sentiment, I used the “So” from “Something’s Fishy…” and then restamped the “Crappie.”

I’ll be back at 10 p.m. EST tonight for the WTG VIP hop and release!  I hope to see you then!

à la modes, Preview #1

**Until blog issues are resolved, please press Ctl-F5 to “hard” refresh if you’d like to make sure you are seeing my latest post.  Thanks!**

Hi everyone!  Today the My Favorite Things design team is previewing the first of two new à la modes sets to be released tomorrow night (1/18 at 10 p.m. EST) along with this month’s WTG VIP.

Pink or Blue, Happy for You

Today we’re previewing Oh, Baby!  So cute!  I used MFT’s Banner Strip Die-namic Duo (alpha stamp set and banner die) to create the little “baby” banner.   (Looks like it’s currently out of stock but I’m sure it will be back soon.)

I paper-pieced the bow, stamping it twice onto patterned paper.  For the upper layer, I cut out only the loops and center portion of the bow, adhered the center portion only and bent up the loops just a bit.

On the bear’s nose and eyes, I used a black 3-d glaze pen to add just a bit of dimension and shine.

On the inside I used one of the cute phrases included with the set.

For a list of direct links to more previews using this à la mode, please check Kim’s blog HEREI’ll be back tomorrow with a sample using the second new à la modes, my favorite of the two!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Hi everyone!  It’s Day 3 of Kraftin Kimmie‘s January release previews!  Today the Krafty Girls and Krafty Guests are sharing samples using six new Moonlight Whispers images!  They’re a little “fruity”…no, really, they are.  😉

Since it’s Saturday, it’s also Challenge Day and our newest fabby Krafty Girl, Angie, is challenging us to create a card using fancy florals.  My flowers aren’t all that fancy, but they’re felt so hopefully that counts.  🙂

Orange You a Great Friend!

This cute girl is Olivia Orange.  She comes along with the sentiment I’ve used here plus an accessory image of oranges.  (Love that!)

After coloring Olivia with markers, I added sparkle to the oranges on her dress and those in her hair using an orange Spica glitter pen.  I also dotted clear glaze over the beads hanging in her hair.

Be sure to check out the other Krafty samples HERE on the Krafty Blog.  If you’d like to play along, don’t forget to post a link to your creation on the Krafty Blog for your chance to win a brand new Moonlight Whispers image!

Hi everyone!  It’s Day 2 of previews with Kraftin Kimmie‘s January release.  Today the Krafty Girls and Krafty Guests are previewing five new images by Steven Leary.  I chose Special Delivery.

Yeah Baby!

I think this image is perfect for a (fairly) quick and easy card.  And still super cute.     I colored bits, paper-pieced the sack and pleated a bit of the twill, attaching the tag to the safety pin with a small jump ring.  The sentiment is from Kimmie’s Everyday Sentiments.

For direct links to more Krafty previews, please check out the Challenge Blog HERE.  All new images will be available on Sunday, January 16th.

Hi everyone! It’s time for Kraftin Kimmie‘s January previews!   This month’s release is bigger than usual so we’re doing things a little differently.  Today we’re previewing five cute animal images from one of our past artists, Crissy Armstrong.  Tomorrow we’ll have peeks from another artist, and on Saturday yet another.  But you’ll have to wait to see which ones we’re previewing when.  It’s a surprise.  🙂

I’m Tickled Pink

This cute image is called Tickled Pink Piggies and it comes with the sentiment I’ve used here.

I paper-pieced the green bandana and blue bow, adhering the bow only in the center so that I could bend up each side just a bit.

Be sure to check out the other Krafty Girls and Guests to see more!  You can find direct links HERE on the Krafty Blog.

All the new images will be available Sunday, January 16th!

Thanks for stopping by!  I’ll be back tomorrow!  🙂

Hello!  It’s time for the Wednesday Stamp Club sketch challenge with My Favorite Things.  As a recap on how this works, the sketch will be posted in the MFT forum each Wednesday morning.  Simply follow the sketch and create a card or other paper creation.  (You can use any stamps and supplies.)  To enter, simply upload your card to the gallery at SCS and include the given keyword in the “keyword” box during the upload process.  After the deadline, we randomly choose a winner from that week’s entries and the winner will receive a $15 gift voucher.  If the winning card uses MFT stamps, the participant will earn a $5 bonus, for a total of a $20 gift voucher!   We had fantastic participation last week. We hope you’ll play again!!!  (And again…and again!)

Thank You

For this week’s sketch, I used MFT’s recently released Carnation Pure Innocence image for my card.    The “Thank You” sentiment is from World’s Best Doctor (also Pure Innocence).

She’s sweet.  I colored with Copics and paper-pieced her dress.

On the inside, I stamped a partial image of the girl and used a sentiment from yet another Pure Innocence set, Lollipop.

You can find a complete list of sketch details and MFT participants HERE on Kim’s blog.  I hope you’ll play along!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!
