Keeping it Simple

It’s been a while since I’ve played with My Favorite Things stamps.  I’ve had these two new images for a couple weeks but with all the swim practices/events, summer vacation, company and life in general, it’s taken me quite a while to complete the cards.   I stamped the images one day, colored one another day, added Stickles on a third day, colored the other image…but they’re finally complete.  All in good time, right?

Lavender

I adore this new Annie LaPoint line from MFT.  When I saw these first two releases, I couldn’t wait to get them.

This layout is super simple.  So simple, in fact, that I’m having a hard time with it.  I can’t tell you how long I’ve looked and thought about what to add to this card.  But in the end I decided to just leave it alone.   Everything doesn’t have to be super-fancy, right?  The patterned paper is from Daisy D’s Sweet Baby Jane 8″ x 8″ paper pad.

I colored the image with Copic markers, then added Lavender Stickles to the flowers and Star Dust Stickles to the leaves.

If you’d like to see a close-up of the flowers, you can click on the thumbnails below.

Take a Break

TABMFT

The paper for this one is from the same Daisy D’s paper pad.  I thought the patterns were perfect for this image…soft colors, kind of old-fashioned.  But this is another case of the paper not photographing accurately.  The colors are darker here than what I’m seeing in front of me. (So irritating.)

I used Copics again, adding the same Stickles as above for the flowers and leaves.  Lots of zig-zagging with a bit of straight stitch across the center.

LCU      TABCU  (I like the tub the best.)

…Just a reminder, there’s a 20% off sale at Jacksonbelle Embellishments through Monday.  She’s making room for the new CHA releases. 🙂  Use this code during checkout:  fourth (all lowercase).

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!  Have a great weekend!!
