Bon Voyage!

My last “official” MFTeaser.   Awwwww….

Tonight My Favorite Things releases three new sets–one mini (Friends Furever) and two full-sized sets (Gone to the Dogs and Goin’ Places).  Today I have a couple samples using Goin’ Places.   For both cards I used Making Memories “Travel Embellishment” for the patterned paper.  It was perfect!  (Kind of vintage-ish.)

Bon Voyage

I had fun making this one.   Pretty much everything is paper-pieced.  I stamped the luggage, the girl’s dress and the map onto patterned paper then added some shading with Copic markers.  The arms and legs were colored on vanilla cardstock and cut out.  I popped up the arms (after cutting them as one piece for easier placement) and then slipped the cut out map into her hands.  I sponged the edges of just about everything.  (I didn’t sponge her legs or arms…if I had, she’d be hairy and, well, that would not be attractive.)

Cardstock:  SU Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla   Patterned Paper:  Making Memories “Travel Embellishment” paper pad   Stamps:  My Favorite Things “Goin’ Places”   Ink:  Brilliance Graphite Black, Ranger Walnut Stain and Frayed Burlap Distress inks   Accessories:  Copper brads (Accent Depot), Copic markers, sponge.  Card size 5” x 5”.

This one is much simpler.  I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to align the buildings along the bottom then placed a strip of sponged patterned paper for the ground.  The sentiment was stamped on patterned paper as was the plane.  The top wing is raised on pop dots.  Once the front panel was assembled, I adhered the whole thing to a Natural Ivory card base.

(Pretty much same supplies as above. Card size 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″.)

Also, Setting the Stage is on sale this month (regularly $17.95, now $13.95).  You can check it out here.  Don’t forget about the new release party tonight in the MFT Member Forum at Splitcoast from 9-11 p.m. (est)!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!
