When I first saw this Insightful Meadows set by Donna Downey (sold by Unity Stamp Co.), I knew I had to have it. I love floral/nature block-style images. I’ve always stamped this type of image by first coloring directly onto the stamp with Stampin’ Up markers. I’d heard you can do the same with Copics but I had never tried it…until now.
For the floral image, I colored directly onto the rubber using an E55 (Light Camel) Copic.
For some reason, in my stamp room I have a small spritz bottle filled with regular, everyday rubbing alcohol. It must have been required for a technique I long ago wanted to try. So I tried spraying that over my inked stamp. I stamped directly onto patterned paper and stamped the sentiment over the image using Memento Rich Cocoa. Love the result!
I know spraying Copic’s Colorless Blending Solution works as well, but I didn’t have any in a sprayer. After a bit of poking around, I discovered that rubbing alcohol does produce the same look but the alcohol can affect some of the Copic colors. For my card, I didn’t care. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great weekend!
