Abstract Art and Coloring My World

Hi everyone! We’re moving on to Day 3 of June previews with My Favorite Things.

Today I’ve used Abstract Art stamp set along with Paint Brushes Die-namics and High Rise Alphabet Lowercase.

I’ve taken the words “You” and “My World” from Document It – Rock On, stamped in Black Licorice ink onto Sweet Tooth card stock.  The letters of “color” were die-cut from Red Hot, Grape Jelly, Gumdrop Green, Lemon Drop and Blu Raspberry card stocks.  Each letter is adhered using foam tape.

The paintbrush was cut from Sweet Tooth, Blu Raspberry with the brown piece colored using an E37 Copic.  The “paint” on the brush is YR12 Copic with the painted line and splotches of ink stamped in Orange Fizz.

On the inside, I added a second die-cut paint brush and added blotches of Orange Fizz, Blu Raspberry and Red Hot inks.

New Trendy Triangles

Hi everyone! I’m back for Day 2 of June previews with My Favorite Things! Today I have two samples using new Trendy Triangles with coordinating Triangles Die-namics.  All sentiments are from Lisa’s Blissful Butterflies set.

My first card was 100% inspired by a card I came across in Pinterest designed by Ashley Cannon Newell.   Her card had the perfect balance of white and color so I didn’t change a thing other than the stamps used.

Typically I would stamp then die-cut the stamped object/image but for the triangles, I found it much easier to do it the other way around.  After die-cutting the triangles from Smooth White card stock, I used MFT’s Lemon Drop and Red Hot ink as well as Amuse Navy ink to stamp the various patterns.   The sentiment was stamped in Black Licorice.

On the inside, I simply added a stamped row of the triangle pattern with a very thin strip of Red Hot card stock to separate the row from the message area.

For my second card, I used Sno Cone, Berrylicious and Blu Raspberry card stocks offset by Black Licorice triangles.  The small Sweet Tooth circles were die-cut all at once using new Peek-a-boo Dots Die-namics.  As above, the sentiment, from Blissful Butterflies, was stamped in Black Licorice ink.

On the inside, I stamped a bottom border using Laina’s Mod Borders, coloring in each triangle using blue/green shades of Copic markers.

Time for MFT June Previews!

Hi everyone!  I’m excited today to begin sharing samples using new June releases from My Favorite Things!  My focus today is on Lisa Johnson’s Blissful Butterflies.  Sooo pretty!

For my first card, I used new Blueprints 4 to die-cut the rounded corner panel from X-Press It Blending Card.   I then used Copics and my air brush to color the panel light yellow to deeper orange. The butterflies were stamped in Hot Fudge ink with the sentiment stamped in Black Licorice.

Once the stamping was complete, I decided to splatter on some darker brown ink (using a dark brown Copic and ABS system).  Lastly, I adhered a couple of brown/gold rhinestone flourishes.

I die-cut a Whip Cream panel for the inside and stamped a second sentiment and butterfly from the set.

My next card is a little more on the clean and simple side.  I used a Smooth White card base along with a Grapesicle panel stamped in Grape Jelly ink using another of Lisa’s new sets, Art Expression Text.

The scalloped strip along the bottom was die-cut from Grape Jelly card stock using an element from Blueprints 4 and the clear rhinestones were color-matched using a V28 Copic.

The butterfly was stamped in Grape Jelly ink on Smooth White card stock then die-cut using coordinating Blissful Butterflies Die-namics.

I adhered the butterfly only along the center then slightly bent the wings forward for added dimension.  Before mailing, I’ll likely place a couple pieces of foam tape beneath the wings to keep them elevated.

On the inside, I added another small strip of Art Expression Text and stamped another butterfly.
