The Love of a Family

I’ve used Clearly Sentimental about Family, using a green ink for the word “family.”

I’ve also used one of our new Die-namics dies, Rolled Gardenia with My Favorite Felt in Banana and Sour Apple .  Beneath the floral panel, I tucked a strip of Little Open Scallop Border

MFT Teasers, Day 2

It’s Day 2 of October previews with My Favorite Things I pulled out several Die-namics to create my little outdoor scene with Fred Bear and the Megaphone

Hello?

I started out using an older MFT sketch but then ended up changing things a bit.  But that’s what the sketches are for…inspiration.  🙂

I used MFT’s Flat Bottom Clouds, two layers of Fresh Cut Grass, the smallest flower center from Pretty Posies and Small Scallops Die-namics along the left edge of the argyle print.  I used a Copic Multiliner to draw in the flower stems and leaves.

It’s hard to see in the photo but I stamped the megaphone a second time, cut out the triangular portion, bent it a bit around the side of a pencil and then adhered it over the full megaphone (by applying a very thin line of Tombow Multi along the edges).  It was easy and adds a bit of interest…assuming you can see it.  🙂

On the inside, I used a second sentiment from the set and stamped a partial image.

Here are the details about the upcoming release:

I’ll be back tomorrow with Day 3 of previews!  Thanks for stopping by!

Getting Sketchy!

Time for this week’s sketch challenge with My Favorite Things!  For this one, I pulled out a semi-oldie but cutie.  🙂

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You

This week I’ve used World’s Best Doctor from the Pure Innocence line.  He was stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card, colored and cut out.

I split the sentiment, stamping each word onto an October Afternoon “Report Card” journaling card.  The PI doctor is adhered on foam boosters.

On the inside, I spaced out the sentiment so each line could be stamped on the lines of the paper.

You can find direct links to DT samples HERE on the MFT blog.  The info is also posted in the MFT Forum in SCS.  (Look for the most recent WSC thread numbered 39.)   And remember, if you upload your card to the SCS gallery using the keyword shown on the sketch, you will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money!  One winner is chosen at random each week.

Thanks for visiting!  Have a great day!

Stamps:  MFT ”World’s Best Doctor” (Pure Innocence)   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black     Paper:  Papertrey Ink Smokey Shadow, X-Press It Blending Card, October Afternoon “Rocket Age,” “Schoolhouse” and “5 & Dime” (8×8), October Afternoon “Report Card” Journaling Card    Accessories:  Copic markers (E50, E51, E11, E31, E33, E41, E43, B0000, R27, C00, C1, C3), MFT Small Scallop Die-namics, foam boosters.  Finished size 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.

MFT Teasers, Day 1

Welcome to Day 1 of October previews with My Favorite Things!  Our next release will be Tuesday, October 4th at 10pm EST.

Today we’re previewing Who’s That Girl Chooses Hope.

Choose Hope

Instead of paper-piecing the shirt (which would be my natural tendency), I decided to color it and then add a sentiment.

On the inside, I did the same thing, continuing my message.

Here are the details about the upcoming release:

Getting Sketchy with KKS

It’s challenge day with Kraftin’ Kimmie!  This week Pam has another great sketch for us!   (I’m not saying I like my card today…but it IS a great sketch.)  You can find the sketch and challenge details here on the Krafty Blog.

How do you boo?

Today I’ve used Mr. Punkin Head and one of his accompanying sentiments.

He scares me.  (Seriously.)

I colored him with Copics, then used a green Copic to color over the white stitching on the ribbon.  It’s an easy way to add a little extra coordination with the papers/image.

Be sure to check out the sketch, more samples and challenge details HERE.  You can find this week’s Frugal Friday specials HERE.

Thanks for visiting!  Have a great weekend!

Let’s Get Sketchy

My Favorite Things has a great new sketch this week!  Check it out!

I’ve Been Missing You

Today I used Just My Type Stamp/Die-namics set.  It was quick, easy and totally out of my comfort zone.  🙂

The typewriter was stamped onto cream cardstock using Brilliance Graphite Black.  I sponged the edges with Frayed Burlap Distress ink, then adhered the typewriter to two layers of die-cut tablet backing.  The typewriter is raised on foam boosters, and the typing paper was rolled back and forth around a skinny pencil to create the look of having been through the machine.

On the inside, I stamped the XOXO from the set and some flourishes in the lower corner (from Sassy & Sweet).

You can find direct links to DT samples HERE on the MFT blog.  The info is also posted in the MFT Forum in SCS.  (Look for the most recent WSC thread numbered 38.)   And remember, if you upload your card to the SCS gallery using the keyword shown on the sketch, you will have the chance to win up to $20 in MFT money!  One winner is chosen at random each week.

Thanks for visiting!  Have a great day!

Stamps/Die-namics:  My Favorite Things Just My Type Die-namics and Stamp Set, Sweet & Sassy   Ink: Brilliance Graphite Black, Ranger Frayed Burlap Distress   Paper: Papertrey Ink True Black and Vintage Cream; Teresa Collins World Traveler (6×6)   Accessories: Michaels brads, paper clip (colored using 110 Copic), foam boosters, sponge, tablet backing.  Finished size 5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″.

MFT VIP New Product Tour

Today My Favorite Things releases this month’s WTG VIP.  We’re doing things a little differently from this date forward.  Instead of having everyone hop from blog to blog for our releases, you will instead find a list of direct links on Kim’s blog, just like our MFT Teaser Days.  Are you ready for our New Product Tour?  You can find the list of direct links HERE.

As always, the VIP package is available in limited quantities, while supplies last, and gives you the opportunity to have the new set and Die-namics die in hand two weeks before the actual release!

This month’s WTG Chooses Hope.    The following items are available HERE for $29.90:

  • Who’s that Girl Chooses Hope stamp set
  • Choose Hope Sentiments mini (VIP exclusive stamp set – will never be offered for sale or be available again $9 value, FREE)
  • Rolled Gardenia Die-namics Die

I’m Here For You

I adore this set.  Sadly, I have a very sweet friend who will soon receive this card.

I paper-pieced the entire image, first stamping onto the script paper, then onto white for coloring of the skin, and lastly onto the various patterns for piecing.

On the inside, I used one of the sentiments from the Choose Hope Sentiments mini set.

Aside from the breast cancer theme, this set could be used for other cancers or just pure friendship/support.  I ♥ it (especially the attitude sentiment).  🙂

Be sure to check out the links on Kim’s blog to see more FABULOUS samples using this FABULOUS new set!

Thanks so much for visiting!  Have a great day!

Wise Men Still Seek Him

Today I’ve once again used Cheryl’s O Holy Night Nativity Set.  (It’s just so cute!  I ♥ it.)

I wanted to include a star of some type so after putting everything together, I tucked a star pin behind the sentiment and tied a bit of ric rac/baker’s twine/jute (scraps, basically) around the pin.  Simple, but a nice little addition (I think).  🙂

Your next stop along the hop is with one of my favorite artists in this whole wide world, ANNIE

Thanks for hopping!  And happy shopping!

Stamps:  Kraftin Kimmie Stamps “O Holy Night Nativity Set” (Cheryl Alger Designs)   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black   Paper: Papertrey Ink Pure Poppy, X-Press It Blending Card, Cosmo Cricket “Mitten Weather”  (6×6)   Accessories: Copic markers (E00, E15, E31, E35, E40, E41, E50, E51, E53, E57, BG0000, BG10, BG11, BG70, R20, R37, R59, W00, W1, W3, W5), Prismacolor pencils, Melissa Frances trim, Maya Road pin, baker’s twine, cream jute string.  Finished size 5″ x 5″.

Krafty Peeks, Day 3

Today is the last day of previews leading up to Kraftin Kimmie’s September release!  All of the new sets/images will be available tomorrow — Sunday, September 18th, 1 a.m. EST.  It’s also Challenge Day so that means you have two ways to win today.  (Actually THREE)!

Joy to the World

Today I’ve used Seraphina.  She comes with the sentiment “Friends are kisses blown to us by angels,” but I decided to use one of the new Nativity Sentiments instead (this time).

I pieced her dress, colored with Copics, then added a bit of sparkle to the chicks using my favorite Spica glitter pen  — Buttermilk.

I’ll be back tomorrow for Kimmie’s Release Hop & Shop!

Thanks for stopping by!  🙂

Stamps:  Kraftin Kimmie “Seraphina” (Moonlight Whispers), Nativity Sentiments  Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black   Paper: Stampin Up Bravo Burgundy, X-Press It Blending Card, Basic Gray “Jovial” (6×6)   Accessories:  Copic markers (E000, E00, E11, R20, E13, E15, E18, E59, Y21, YR23, BG0000, BG10, BG70), Prismacolor pencils, Spellbinders Nestabilities, My Favorite Things Simply Scallops Die-namics, Brenda Walton Evergreen Icon Chipboard, rhinestone, Spica Buttermilk glitter pen, foam boosters.  Finished size 5″ x 5″.

Krafty Peeks, Day 2!

Christmas is still in the air with Kraftin Kimmie!  Yesterday we previewed the most adorable nativity set by Cheryl Alger, and today we’re previewing five fun new holiday images by artist Emilie Goulet!

Check out the Krafty Blog HERE for a complete list of direct links to participating Krafty Girls.  Then be sure to leave comments as you look because from today’s comments, there will be THREE winners!  Two will be randomly selected to receive three of Emilie’s new images, and an additional winner will be selected to receive the Christmas Interior Sentiments set!

Naughty or Nice?

Today I’ve used Emilie’s Toymaker Elf with a sentiment from last year’s Holiday Sentiments.

After tying my bow, I stitched on the button.  The bell on my button was actually a bell brad.  I removed the prongs and used a super-sticky glue dot to adhere the bell over the button holes.

I can just see this little guy, concentrating on his work while quietly asking, “Have you been naughty (hesitation) …or nice?”  🙂

After coloring with Copics, I added some shine to his eyeglasses using a clear Sakura 3-d glaze pen.

Kimmie’s September release will take place on Sunday, September 18th.  We’ll be back tomorrow with previews of Annie’s angels!

Thanks for stopping by!  🙂
