July MFTeasers, Day 5

Hello.  🙂  The My Favorite Things team is back today with one final round of previews before our July release tonight at 10 p.m. EST.  Today we have samples using Clearly Sentimental about Sympathy and Who’s That Mermaid.

Today is the last day of teasers prizes so be sure to leave comments as you look around!  (You can find a list of direct links to partipating design team members here.)

You Are in My Thoughts

There are so many wonderful sentiments in the Clearly Sentimental about Sympathy set.  I wasn’t sure where to begin, but decided in the end to make a fairly simple masculine(ish) card.

Along with the Clearly Sentimental about Sympathy set, I used one of the flowers from our Flower Silhouette Die and Stamp Set.  To achieve the “scratched” look, I swiped a Brocade or Bordering Blue SU marker across the stamp, intentionally leaving some areas uncovered.  After coloring the stamp with the blue, I added just a bit of Chocolate Chip marker to some of the edges and stems.  The ink pooled a bit in several spots but I think that adds to the distressed look.

Along the left edge of the plaid block, I tucked in a strip of our new Solid Bracket Border.

I didn’t have a button to match my papers, so I created my own.  Using MFT’s Button Quartet Die-namics, I die-cut two buttons from tablet backing, one from cardstock and then glued them all together.

On the inside, I stamped another sentiment from the sympathy set and left plenty of space for a heartfelt note.

The release will take place tonight, July 5th, at 10 p.m. EST.  You can attend the release party from 8 – 10 p.m. EST here in the forum for fun, games, prizes and the announcement of our next Guest Designer!  The winners from today’s teaser comments will be announced during the party as well.

I’ll be back tonight at 10 p.m. EST for the My Favorite Things July Release Hop & Shop.  I’ll see you then!

Thanks so much for stopping by!   🙂
