MFT Previews, Day 3

Hi!  It’s time for one of my favorite preview days from My Favorite Things…the new Pure Innocence sets!  This month we have four:  Are We There Yet?, Cheerleader, Tea Party and Boy & His Dog Football Player.

I did something a little different using the new PI Cheerleader.  It’s time for a play date!

Wanna Play?

In place of the pom-poms, I created a little jump rope by braiding three strings of linen thread.  I knotted each end and adhered each to the girl’s hands using a rolled glue dot.  The sentiment is from the Wyatt Says WOW set.MFTWPIN

On the inside, I used a sentiment from Are We There Yet (one of the other new PI sets this month).

MFT Previews, Day 2

I’m back today for Day 2 of previews of  the July releases with My Favorite Things.  Today the team is sharing samples of Fred Bear Hits the Beach and Clearly Sentimental about Summer Vacation.

Hit the Beach

    MFTFBHTB

I stamped Fred onto an MFT cream Perfect Paper Panel, colored him with Copics and then added lots of shine to his sunglasses, nose and tube MFTFBBCUusing a clear 3-d glaze pen.

For the sun, I layered a jute stitched button atop MFT’s Sunshine Die-namics die-cut.  When adhering the sun, I placed a large glue dot only in the center which allowed me to bend up each ray just a bit for some added dimension.

The sentiments on the front and inside are both from the set.

I used the Sunshine die-cut on the inside as well.

MFTFBBINFor direct links to more design team previews, please check out Kim’s blog HERE after 11 a.m. EST.

A Cup of Love and a Sketch

Hi everyone.  Time for another challenge with Kraftin Kimmie.  This week Donna has a fantastic sketch for us.  I (very) often struggle with layouts so when that part is done for me, I’m a happy camper.  You can find the sketch and challenge details here.  Be sure to post a link to your creation on the Krafty blog so you’ll have a chance to win a free stamp from Kraftin Kimmie!

A Cup of Love for You

    KKCOLFY

Here I’ve used Nadine from the Moonlight Whispers collection. She was part of the coffee/tea kit but is now available separately.

KKCOLFYCUIn place of Nadine’s cookies, I used Gabrielle’s tea cup accessory stamp, then filled the cup with two punched hearts, adding a bit of highlight to each with an opaque white pen.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!  🙂

MFT Previews, Day 1

Hello.  🙂  Today the My Favorite Things team is previewing two new sets, Cruising Cosmo Girl and Banner Day Alpha

You Drive Me…

    MFTYDM

This cute set comes with the car, a girl, a stack of luggage and several cute sentiments.   I decided to piece my car using a kind-of-crazy pattern MFTYDMCU2from Cosmo’s Be Loved collection.  The grass and scalloped scallops were made using MFT’s new Die-namics border die-cuts.

In the windshield area, I placed a scrap of acetate so it really does look like a windshield.

MFTYDMINTo see more samples using this set as well as the new alpha set (which fits perfectly into one of the new Die-namics die-cuts (!), please check out Kim’s blog HERE after 11 a.m. EST.

Happy Birthday, Kim!

Today the My Favorite Things team, as well as many other fabulous friends, are wishing the MFT Lady herself a VERY happy birthday.  Kim, you are so sweet, so kind, so caring and so very generous.  I hope you have the BEST birthday EVER!!  🙂

Happy Birthday to You!

    HBTY

I combined a couple of sets from MFT’s Pure Innocence line.  The little girl and wagon are from A Cart Full of Friends.    I filled the wagon MFTHBTYINwith the cake from Birthday Princess and punched a few circles from coordinating patterned paper for the balloons.

I paper-pieced the girl’s dress, drew in the little socks and added the ground/grass with Prismacolor pencils.

I didn’t have ribbon to match so I colored some lighter colored ribbon (it was celery-ish) with a rust marker, then layered it over MFT’s crocheted trim.

If you’d like to check out what the other girls have created for Kim, here’s the list.  (LOTS of happy birthday wishes for her!)  🙂

If you’d like to wish Kim a happy birthday too, please pop on over to her blog here.  🙂

MFT July previews begin tomorrow so I’ll be back for that! Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!

An MFT Team Announcement (x3)

Hi everyone.  It’s an exciting time at My Favorite Things!  Today Kim is announcing three new teams and I’m SO excited to say I am still on one of them!  I guess they think I’m ok.   🙂   We now have a Design Team, a Scrap & Arts Team and a Challenge Team.  You can get all the names and details HERE (after 11 a.m. EST).   A happy welcome to all the new faces!

Friends See Things Heart to Heart

    MFTFSTHTH

This is yet another of the new sets I had waiting to be inked, Dog Gone Cute (Boy & His Dog) from the Pure Innocence line.  It’s been dreadfully hot here so I had a bit of a hard time paper-piecing the little guy’s shirt into plaid flannel, but I thought it was cute nonetheless.  I colored the remainder of the image with markers and added two tiny brads onto his overall straps.

MFTFSTINThe inside is finished simply (as usual) with the remainder of the sentiment and a silhouette of the boy.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I’ll be back tomorrow.  🙂  Have a great day.
