Kraftin’ Kimmie Previews, Day 2

Helloooo!  I’m back today with another sample from Annie’s new Medieval Moonlight Whispers images from Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps.  Meet Queen Guinevere.

You are the Queen!

   KKYATQ

After coloring the image with markers, I covered Guinevere’s crown with a clear glitter pen then ‘bejeweled’ it with tiny gems.  I painted a larger chipboard version and then added some jewels to that one as well.

If you’d like to check out more design team samples from Kimmie’s new release (coming Sunday, 4/11), you can find links here.

I’m off to mail this card to the queen (lmbo).  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!  🙂

Kraftin’ Kimmie Previews, Day 1

It’s that time again!  On Sunday, April 11th, Kraftin’ Kimmie is releasing seven new images…six from the Moonlight Whispers line (we have a Medieval twist going on this month) and an adorable new Cindy & Mindy image.  Each comes with its own sentiment, or sentiments.  (I love that!)  Every day leading up to the release, the design team will be previewing all of the new images.  You can click HERE to find links to more samples.

Life With You is a Fairytale

    KKLWY

Meet Princess Petunia.  I paired her with some gorgeous new My Mind’s Eye paper I found on vacation.  (I just had to hit the two local scrap stores even if it meant dragging a bag of 12 x 12 paper all the way across the country.)

I didn’t like the empty space in the upper corners of the image panel so I added a canopy of sorts.  I used my Creative Memories oval cutter to cut the scoop then popped up the piece using foam squares.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I’ll be back tomorrow with another preview!  Have a great day!

Stamps: Kraftin’ Kimmie “Princess Petunia” (Moonlight Whispers)   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black  Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink Dark Chocolate, Vintage Cream  Patterned Paper: My Mind’s Eye Little Miss Muffet “Hello Beautiful” and Little Boy Blue “Curious”  Accessories: Copic markers (E000, E00, R20, R81, R83, R85, YG91, YG93, YG95, YG0000, C00, C1, C3), Amuse jewel, Sakura clear glaze pen, brads, Fiskars Apron Strings border punch, Creative Memories Oval Cutter, dimensional boosters.  Finished size 5 ½” x 5 ½”.

You Make Life Sweet

    MFTYMLS

Isn’t she sweet?  I just love her.  I paper-pieced her dress, drew in little socks and colored the rest with markers.  The ground was colored/sketched in with Prismacolor pencils.

MFTLWINAll of the new releases are now available here.  But first, hop on over to see what  **AMY**  has to share.  I’m certain it’s fabulous! (It always is!!)  🙂

MFT Previews, Day 5

Hi everyone!  We’re on the last day of previews for the big April release by My Favorite Things (which is tonight at 10 p.m.)!

Today the team is sharing samples using Baby Bump (WTG), Clearly Sentimental about Babies, Baby Additions and Clearly Sentimental About Mothers.  I chose mothers.

A Mother Holds Your Hand for a While…

    MFTMHYH

I used my favorite sentiment in the set (no question).  It literally tugs at my heartstrings.

I also used my favorite Wild Asparagus paper and my favorite flowers by Prima.  (I just love those burlap flowers.)  I used a sponge and some Tattered Rose distress ink to add a bit of color to the inside of the flower.

MFTMHYHINAnd a simple finish to the inside.

I hope you’ll check out the other design team samples.  You can find direct links HERE after 11 a.m. EST.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I’ll be back tonight for the MFT Blog Hop and Shop!  Have a great day!

MFT Previews, Day 4

I’m back!  Today the My Favorite Things design team is previewing the new Jolinne images.  (Release date 4/7.)  They are so sweet!

Bravo!

    MFTOFP

Here I’ve used Sweet Spring.  The set comes with the two images you see here, a little bird, two groups of tulips and four sentiments.

I paper-pieced the outfits on the girl and bunny, then stamped the girl’s dress a second time so I could pop up the top layer.

I then cut out her and the bunny (using a craft knife as needed) and placed the two on my stitched card.

I carried over the circle layout to the inside and used another sentiment from the set.

You can find direct links to more design team samples HERE after 11 a.m. EST.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

MFT Previews, Day 3

Hi everyone.  🙂  Today the My Favorite Things design team is previewing all of the new Pure Innocence sets.  (Release day 4/7.)  Included in this category is Boy & Dog Tree Swing.

Swinging By to Say Hi!

          MFTSBTSH

As much as I love the little Pure Innocence girls, it’s nice to throw a boy into the mix from time to time.

MFTSBCUI colored my little guy with Copics and added two tiny brads to his overalls.

Before die cutting the image with my Nestabilities, I cut around the leaves so they could extend past the border just a little.

I had a bit of a hard time deciding if I should use ribbon here, much less tie it into a bow since it’s a “boyish” sort of card.  I decided tying linen thread around the bow made it a little less girly.  (They’re still bows, but I think it works.)

Since the boy is “swinging by to say hi,” I decided to use the word “hi” again on the inside…with his little dog.

MFT Previews, Day 2

Hi everyone!  Happy Easter!

I’m back today with more previews from My Favorite Things!  (Release date 4/7.)  This is a fun day as we’re introducing two new MFT characters…Millie Mouse and Fred Bear.

Thanks…

   MFTFBT

This is Fred Bear.  Isn’t he adorable? He’s even cuter in his bare/bear form.  🙂

I paper-pieced his clothes, colored him with markers (my first attempt at furr), cut him out and adhered him to the sky blue paper.  The grass was colored in with Prismacolor pencils and the clouds were drawn onto cream cardstock, shaded a bit with an E50 marker and cut out.

I completed the sentiment on the inside:

MFT Previews, Day 1

My Favorite Things has all sorts of fun new releases coming April 7th and today is the first day of previews!  Today the team is sharing samples using Clearly Sentimental about Birthdays and Bunch of Bots.  I went with the bots.  🙂

Thanks a Bot

    MFTTAB

My card was inspired by all of the pieced suns I’ve seen in the magazines lately.  I really like that look.

I stamped my robot onto red “patterned” paper, added a bit of shading, cut him out and adhered him to the stitched background.

The sentiment on the sun is one of the very cute sentiments that comes along with the set.

MFTTABINThe sentiment I used on the inside of the card is from MFT’s Mr. Roboto (the perfect accompaniment to Bunch of Bots).

For direct links to more samples using this adorable new set, along with samples of Clearly Sentimental about Birthdays, please check out Kim’s blog HERE after 11 a.m. EST.

Thanks for stopping by!  I’ll be back tomorrow with more.  Have a great day!  🙂

Let’s Get Punchy

This week on the Kraftin Kimmie blog Jeanne has challenged us to use punches.  Or if you’d rather, you can use die cuts.  I went for ‘very simple’ here, using only a rectangular Nestability to frame my image and SU’s scalloped border punch beneath the floral print.

I’m Here For You

    KKIHFY

I used Bench Friends from the KK’s Cindy & Mindy line.  I it’s a sweet image.  🙂

You can see other design team samples here.  If you’d like to play along and have a chance to win a free stamp from Kraftin’ Kimmie, be sure to post a link to your project on the challenge blog.
