A Kraftin’ Kimmie Preview and Challenge

Hi everyone!  I have one more preview of Kraftin’ Kimmie’s March release (which is tomorrow)!  And since it’s Saturday, we’ve all tied our samples in with this week’s Krafty challenge.  Tara has asked us to use beads.  If you’d like to play along and have a chance to win one of the new release images, you can find all the info here (as well as more samples).

Shake Your Tailfeathers!

        KKSTF3

This is Vivienne.   She comes along with two sentiments, the one I’ve used and “Strut Your Stuff!”  I like both and had a hard time choosing which one to use on this card.

My daughter still wants to know why all these girls have no pants.  “It’s inappropriate, you know.”   Yes, I know.  lol.

KKSTFCU3I threaded one small bead, one larger bead and then two smaller beads onto thread and “stitched” them to the base of the feathers.  I wanted to add tiny beads to Vivienne’s necklace but I didn’t have any that small.   Instead I used a clear 3-d glaze pen to dot over each bead after coloring.

I also colored over the eyeshadow with a melon glitter pen.

Be sure to check out the other Krafty girls’ samples!  You can find links on the Krafty Blog.  And we’ll be back tomorrow with a March Release Hop.  🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Kraftin’ Kimmie Previews, Day 2

TGIF!  🙂  I’m back with another sample using one of the new March releases from Kraftin’ Kimmie.  Today I’ve used Angry Ballerina.  Yep, she’s pretty angry.  But still cute.

This new image is made from a painting by the amazingly talented Annie Rodrigue.  (You can see it here.)

Just One of Those Days

   KKJOOTD

I seem to have this thing for using pearls and circles lately so please bear with me while I get it out of my system.

KKABCUSince this ballerina is clearly not a “pig costume” kind of gal, I’m assuming she’s not a pearl girl either.  But I added tiny pearl buttons to her dress anyway.  If she’s unhappy about the pig, the pearls can’t make it any worse, right?

You can find links to other fab design team samples here.  We’ll be sharing samples again tomorrow with a release hop on Sunday, March 14th.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!

Kraftin’ Kimmie’s March Previews, Day 1

Hi everyone!  It’s time for March previews from Kraftin’ Kimmie! On Sunday, March 14th, there will be two new Cindy and Mindy designs by Jean Grant, four new fairy images by Crissy Armstrong and four new images by Annie Rodrigue….PLUS another of Annie’s paintings has been made into a stamp!  (It’s not the image I used here.  You’ll have to check out some of the other previews to see which one.)

Wanna Dance?

    KKWD3

Meet Babette from the Moonlight Whispers line.  Isn’t she somethin’?   In the words of my eight-year old, “Where are her pants??”  lol.   The sentiment I used here comes along with the image.

KKWDBBCUI always have such issues trying to capture any kind of sparkle or shine in a photo.  It’s so aggravating.  I suppose I’ll figure it out sooner or later.  I used an orange glitter pen over her outfit and eyeshadow and a black glitter pen as eyeliner.  A clear 3-d glaze pen made her lips and shoes extra shiny.

I’ll be back tomorrow!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Happy Birthday to… a Little Someone

I’m still plugging along on these birthday cards.  I can’t believe I need so many this month.  (It’s fun though.)  🙂

Happy Birthday

       HBAP

Here I’ve used My Balloon, one of the very sweet Pure Innocence girls from My Favorite Things.  I colored the image with markers, the ground with pencils, and paper-pieced the balloon.

HBAPINI had originally thought to place three buttons to the left of the image but decided I liked the flowers better.  I simply cut them from the patterned paper, inserted a brad in each center and adhered them over the buttons with glue dots.

To create the sentiment, I used “happy” from MFT’s My Basket of Eggs set and “birthday” from My Balloon.

I do need to become a little more creative with my finished insides.  I think they’re all looking the same.  (I’ll try to work on that.)

Tomorrow is my daughter’s birthday and I need to make 36 cookies n’ cream cupcakes for her to take to school (or for me to take to the school) so I better get busy crushing those cookies.  🙂  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

StampsMy Favorite Things “My Balloon” and “My Basket of Eggs” (Pure Innocence)  Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black  Cardstock: Stampin’ Up Real Red, MFT Perfect Paper Panel   Patterned Paper:  Imaginisce “Twitterpated”   Accessories: Copic markers (E000, E00, BG01, BG15, R20, R27, Y21, YR02, YR04, BG0000, YG0000), Prismacolor pencils, Maya Road trim, buttons/white string, Recollections mini brads, dimensional boosters.  Finished size 4 ¼” x 5 ½”.

I’ve Been Purging

I’m on a serious mission to clear out some older things from my stamp room.  I have a rather large supply of rub-ons which I haven’t even thought to use for so very long.  I found some with a birthday theme, and since I have so many birthday cards to make (like ten), I thought I’d put them to use.

I still had the Jillibean Soup Cold Raspberry paper out from my last project so I decided to use what was left of that as well.  (I’d love to get more though.  I really like this paper.)

Make A Wish

       MAWAP

It was super quick and super easy.

Here’s the inside:

MAWINAnother rub-on (from the same pack) adds a little sentiment to complete the card.  I think this is a great way to use some scraps from other projects.  (And I really like the part about it being quick!)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Cardstock:  Papertrey Ink Dark Chocolate  Patterned Paper:  Jillibean Soup Cold Raspberry “Dry Sherry”  Rub-ons:  Deja Views Wonderful Words “Birthday”  Accessories: Fiskars Apron Strings border punch, brown organdy, dimensional boosters.  Finished size 4 ¼” x 5 ½”.

Hoppin’ with Kimmie’s Tea Party

Hi everyone!  I’m back today for a hop using Kraftin’ Kimmie’s new Spring Tea Party kit.  If you’ve just come from Tara’s fantabulous blog, then you’re right on track.  If you just popped in here, you might want to go back to the Challenge Blog where it all begins.  Be sure to leave comments along the way as two lucky winners will receive some free Tea Party images and accessories!  🙂

It’s been so much fun sharing samples of these new images.  Even though I just posted a card yesterday using Gabrielle, I decided to do another.   Afterall, I like her the best!

Make it a Grande

   KKGMIAG2

This might be my favorite of the cards I have made using these new releases.  I love the “Cold Raspberry” patterned paper by Jillibean KKMIAGCU2Soup.  I love the circle… the brown pearls.  I just love brown.  And I love Gabrielle’s grande cup!

In the actual image, she is holding a dainty little tea cup.  But I replaced it with one of the accessory images that comes in the kit, a “grande” tea cup.  The smaller image is still there beneath the larger one.  I just colored it in right along with the hair so the bits that you can see through the cup handle pretty much blend in.

I used a kraft knife to carefully cut around Gabrielle’s thumb, then inserted the larger cup handle and placed a pop dot beneath the cup.  A tiny dot of glue holds her thumb down onto the handle once the cup was in place.

For even spacing of the pearls along the edge of the circle, I used the larger holes on my SU piercing template.  The pearls fit perfectly and made the equal spacing very easy.

The Spring Tea Party Kit is only available from the Kraftin’ Kimmie store, it’s only available for a limited time, and right now you can get it at a discount.  You can see all the images and sentiments included in this kit here.

Your next stop along the hop is with DONNA, one of my (many) stamping/coloring idols.  🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a GREAT day!  (And now, I am going to take a short break.  I’ll be back soon!)

Kraftin’ Kimmie’s Spring Tea Party, Day 5!

Today the Krafty team is introducing the fifth image (my favorite) from the Spring Tea Party kit.  It’s also  challenge day for us Krafty girls and this week Kimmie has asked us to use something old.  It can be anything.  Since I can’t even remember how long I’ve had this ribbon, I’m calling it old.

Life is like a cup of tea…

  KKGCOT

This is Gabrielle.  Isn’t she pretty?  I just love her!  (You’ll be seeing her again very soon!)

KKGCOTCUShe started out as a blonde, but then I refilled a brown Copic just a bit too much and a big ol’ plop of ink landed right on top of her head.  So…now she’s a brunette.   Hopefully you can’t see the plop.  I did my best to hide it.

From the Tea Sentiment set, I used “Life is like a cup of tea, it’s all in how you make it.”  That is true.  🙂

Kraftin’ Kimmie’s Spring Tea Party, Day 4

Hi everyone.  I will be super short today.  I have one whopper of a headache and really need to get away from this computer.

Today the Krafty girls are sharing samples using the fourth main image from the new Spring Tea Party kit.  This is Lisette.

Savor the Moment

   KKSTMR2

Again…I love her hair.  🙂

KKSMCUSame as usual…I colored with Copics and pencils.

I used a clear 3-d glaze pen to add a bit of shine to the cherry and dotted icing along the bottom of the cake.

Please check out what the other Krafty girls have done with this same image.  (Blog links to the right under “Kimmie’s Krafty Girls.”)

I’ll be back tomorrow with my favorite image from this set.  🙂

Java Great Day!

    KKJGD

I’d like to introduce Henri.  He’s one dapper dude, isn’t he?

I colored him using a combination of markers and pencils.

My coffee cup and steam were created using a bowl from Maya Road’s mini What’s Cookin’ chipboard set, and the handle and steam are from a Making Memories flourish pack.  All pieces were colored with markers.

I hope you’ll check out what the other Krafty girls did with Henri.  You can click on their links from my right-most sidebar (Kimmie’s Krafty Girls).

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

MFT’s March Release Hop

Welcome to the March release hop with My Favorite Things!  We have quite a few new releases this month, and I’d hate for you to miss something, so if you’ve just popped in here, you may want to go back to the beginning with KIM.  And remember, there is blog candy hidden somewhere along the way so be sure to leave comments to increase your chance to win!

I’m Lucky

       MFTIL

I’ve used 4-Leaf Clover from the Pure Innocence line.  Of course, I think it’s totally adorable.  (Aren’t they all?)

MFTILCUI paper-pieced the little girl’s outfit, shoes, four-leaf clover, and yes, the tiny heart barrette.  I sometimes have a hard time matching reds and even though the heart is small, I can be kind of funny about things like that so I decided it was just as easy to paper-piece that too.  Plus I wanted that little bit of ‘textured’ color.

Behind the clover, I placed just a tiny dot of glue in the center and bent up each of the four petals just a bit.        MFTILIN

You can find all of the new releases right now, right here, but first be sure to hop on over to see what CHRISTINA has to share.  I’m betting it’s fabulously fun!  🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great night/day!
