Crap Happens

Disclaimer:  She is trying to scare the rabbit away, not kill it…but she probably is cursing a little.

MFTCH450

I tied my card in with this week’s Who’s That Girl Challenge to use “Can Ya Dig It,” three flowers (I popped up three of the flowers from the patterned paper) and ribbon.  When inking the girl, CHCUI omitted the arms, then stamped the right one again, cut it out and repositioned it, raising it on pop dots.  I drew in the left arm myself.  All coloring was done with Copics, including the tiny brads which were originally yellow.

And the sentiment, that’s just a little peek at a new set to be released on Wednesday, the 18th.  If your sense of humor is just a little twisted (or a lot…), you won’t want to miss this MFT blog hop which begins Wednesday, February 18th, 12 a.m. (EST).  I cannot WAIT to see it myself!!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Life on Chicken Beach

I’m happy to say that after an 11-hour sleep last night (lol), I’m feeling a bit better.  Still totally stuffy, but at least that horrendous sinus headache has eased.  I can just barely smell and taste things…which is HORRIBLE since my very sweet hubby gave me TWO POUNDS of my favorite candy in the world, Wockenfuss dark chocolate-covered cherries.  If you live in the Ocean City/Baltimore area, maybe you know what I’m talking about.  (I don’t live there, but I have a lot of family in that area.)  Oh my gosh…the box arrived this week and luckily I was home as it was 71 degrees outside and the box was left on the front step!  I knew what was inside because “WOCKENFUSS” was printed in very large letters on the box.  My husband tried to tell me there were Star Wars figures inside, but I knew better.  I was jumping for joy, only now….I can’t eat them.  I will NOT waste them by eating them without tasting them.  That would be sinful.  I can just barely smell them.  Oh, the anticipation.  (He’s so sweet!)

Yesterday’s post was Chicken Fun {Part I}.  Today…

Chicken Fun {Part II}

        WSCB

This image is so silly, it makes me smile.  It’s another of Anna’s Whipper Snapper chicken designs.  Too cute!  (I used her string-hanging-from-the-back-of-the-button idea.)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Life is Good in the Chicken Truck

TGIF!  It’s a very quick/short post from me today. I’m not feeling all that great and I have a lot of running around to do.  If only I could find a chicken to run my errands for me…  🙂

Chicken Fun {Part I}

     WSCT

Who, besides Anna Wight, would think to put a chicken behind the wheel?  I love her imagination and sense of humor.  You can see more Whipper Snapper chickens here.  🙂

Ok…I’m off to drag myself around.  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Bundle Up! (Ha!)

I felt a little weird making this card yesterday.  It was 71 fun-lovin’ degrees here, sunny and very windy.  Last night there were thunderstorms predicted.  Um, it’s February, right?  Everyone will have colds.  Actually, I already do.  I’m sniffly, sneezy, sore throat, lovely really (not).

Today’s WT Challenge at SCS is to use fabric.  I don’t have stashes of fabric lying around, but I did have a strip of brown canvas.  I used it here in place of ribbon or a strip of cardstock.

Stay Warm

             SWF

I tried to follow this week’s sketch challenge, but my fabric strip is over the striped panel instead of under so I’m guessing this doesn’t qualify.  (Always the rebel.)  🙂

SWFCUI popped up part of Flopsey’s scarf and also the mittens and cup.  I used a black 3-d gel pen on Flopsey’s eyes and a clear one on the mug.

I didn’t want Flopsey to be quite so dark, but I still have three empty brown Copics.  I have refills coming, but I think they’re traveling here from far, far away roped to the back of a donkey.

The sentiment is clear embossed so it would stand out better on the patterned paper.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Just Can’t Get Enough

Can’t get enough of what, you ask?  These kid images from Whipper Snapper Designs!  They’re adorable and so much fun to color!  🙂

Have a Great Day

ACK!  Ithem!  These little guys are Alexander and Ivan.  They hold a blank sign so you can add your own sentiment.  How cute is that??

***sigh***   So many cute images, not enough hours in the day.  🙂

Good Friends Can Even Make Shopping Bearable

TGIM!  🙂    (You knew I’d say that, didn’t you?)

MFTSL

This week’s product spotlight with My Favorite Things is the Say Charge set.   Although I loathe just about any kind of shopping, I think it would be fun anyway with just the right friends.  (You know who you are!)  🙂

.

Good Friends are Priceless

GFAPMFT

No, I am not a shopper…groceries, school supplies, clothing (that’s the worst), doesn’t matter.  It’s all torturous.  (I don’t even want to talk about Christmas shopping.)  I have to have my list, get what I need and get out.  The only stores I don’t mind going into are craft stores or book stores.  Even with that being said, I’m perfectly happy to shop for craft supplies or books on-line.  Anyone else like that?  (Make me feel normal. 🙂 )

GFCUI decided to pop up the flowered bag so I stamped that portion of the stamp a second time, omitting the border line.  I drew in that corner of the bag, colored it, cut it out and raised it on a pop dot.

My friend, Jody, inspired me to use the big stitched, suede flower.  (I sure hope I didn’t break any of her rules….)  😉

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Cookies and a Little Enabling

Hi everyone!  Happy weekend!

I’ve been eyeing this image from Whiff of Joy for quite some time.  I ordered it with the new Spring releases which I canNOT wait to get!  **impatiently tapping fingers**  🙂

Mmmm…Cookies

      WOJWWC

Tammi is one of my FAVORITE stampers.  If you have not been to her blog, you MUST.  Wow.  Her work is amazing!  I love how she uses her flowers, buttons, pretty much any kind of little doo-dad, she knows the perfect place for each and every one.  This is my “attempt” at embellishing like her.

When I saw this paper, Chloe’s Closet by Making Memories, I knew I wanted to use it with this image.   There were all kinds of coordinating embellishments.  I decided on the paper flowers and buttons.  I figured if I felt like a total failure with the flowers, I could at least use the buttons.  lol.

So now for the enabling…Jacksonbelle Embellishments is having a 30% off sale.  Yes, 30% off EVERYTHING in the store.  The sale begins at midnight tonight (MTN time, I believe) and goes through Tuesday (2/10), midnight.  Just use Code Feb30 at checkout.  Happy shopping!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great weekend! 🙂

MFT New Release Blog Hop

It’s time for another hop with My Favorite Things!  🙂  If you are just popping in here, you may want to start at the beginning with Kim‘s blog.

This month brings three new sets:  Bling Bet, Tea for Two and Digital Girl, all available Wednesday (2/4) at 10  p.m. EST.

Just a Click Away…

      JACAMFT

Yes, I paper-pieced.  Are you sick of that yet?  (I hope not!)

There are quite a few very cute sentiments with this set.  I filed my little note into a folder, clipped it all together and added a scrap of ribbon.  I actually bought the flowers that match this patterned paper but I didn’t like how any of them looked here so I made my own tiny flowers with a punch and the patterned paper.  (It just seemed a better match.)

As usual, there’s an MFT New Release Cocktail Party on Wednesday (2/4) from 9-10 p.m. EST.  Head on over to the MFT forum to find out all the details and to find out how you can be the next MFT Guest Designer!  We hope to see you there on Wednesday night!

Next, hop on over to Michelle‘s blog to see her fabulous design!

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Happy hopping!

Good Friends, Good Books…You Can Never Have too Many

MFTWW200TGIM!  🙂  This week’s Weekly Wow product focus with My Favorite Things is ribbon.  I recently received the Winter Soltice ribbon pack and honestly, the first thing I said when I saw it was “Wow!”  There was so much ribbon–25 yards, 5 each of 5 different ribbons.  And pretty, too!  I chose my favorite from the bundle and decided to work it in with some October Afternoon patterned paper.

I love to read, I love MFT’s Flopsey and so I love his book-themed images.  I’ve had Reading Flopsey in my “Waiting for Ink” pile for quite a while and his time has finally come.

Good Friends, Good Books

    GFGB

I colored Flopsey with gray Copics and paper-pieced the books. I added a tiny little bookmark into Flopsey’s book (which is currently The Friday Night Knitting Club) and then I incorporated an actual bookmark into the card.

     GFBMSLDR

The bookmark slides out by pulling on the knotted ribbon.  I made sure my stamped/matted image was taller than the bookmark and added a thin strip of foam tape to the top and bottom edges of the back side of the focal piece, creating a tunnel-like opening for the bookmark to slide in and out.  (I doubled the thickness of the foam tape so the bookmark slides easily.)

     GBGFBMO

I wanted the card to still have a somewhat finished look once the bookmark was removed so I added a matted strip of the floral patterned paper beneath the focal image.

Thank you for all of your well-wishes for my eye.  My eye looks and feels fine, and I can see just fine.  I have a bit of swelling on the white of my left eye, most likely from allergies. So for a week I have to wear my glasses (ick) and use a mild steroid drop four times a day.  Thankfully, it’s nothing serious.  I go back to the doc on Thursday.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a super Monday!!
