You Can Move Mountains

Hello everyone. Now that I’ve delivered these cards to their recipients I feel I can share here. I didn’t want to ruin the surprise.  🙂

I used super cute Follow Your Arrow from The Cat’s Pajamas latest release. I absolutely adore it.

Copic markers – BG10, BG13, BG32, BG70, E30, E31, E33, E35, E37, W3, Y21, YG06, YG09, YR23

I also used new Slimline Basics to create the clouds. Eventually I hope to create an actual slimline card.

The Cat’s Pajamas Spring Release Blog Hop and TCP Tuesday

April2016BlogHop400

Hi everyone! It’s release day with The Cat’s Pajamas and to celebrate, the Cat Pack and Guests have put together a fun hop using the new release stamps and dies.  If you just came from Julie Elak, then you’re in the right place. (She’s the first stop so it’s a short hop back!)

TCPTuesday313

Today is also the first day of the Spring Customer Blog Hop as well as TCP Tuesday. You can find all details on the TCP blog.

I’ve used my favorite set from the release, Sketchy Flowers, along with “sunshine” from new Sending You stamp set. The Sending die is also new and available for FREE with any $65 purchase. (Also available to purchase individually.)

Michele Boyer - The Cat's Pajamas

I stamped the flowers and leaves onto translucent vellum using white ink then white embossed. The coloring, done with Copic markers, was applied to the back of the vellum. I love the soft color beneath the white texture of the embossing.

Copic markers – R20, R83, YG11

To adhere the floral vellum to the card base, I “hid” small glue dots beneath the flower petals.  To adhere the sentiment panel (also vellum), I tucked the left and right edges beneath the floral vellum panel and secured with 1/8″ double-sided sticky tape.

Your next stop on today’s hop is with Nancy Thomas. Enjoy!  🙂

Thanks so much for visiting!

Sending Hugs (The Cat’s Pajamas April Release Preview)

Hi everyone! I’m back today featuring two new sets available from The Cat’s Pajamas on Tuesday, April 26th.

I’ve used new Sending You stamp set with Square Stamp dies. This little bunny’s bag is so stuffed with heartfelt notes, they’re flying from beneath the flap. 🙂

Michele Boyer - The Cat's Pajamas

To create a level cancellation squiggles across the postage stamp, I first die-cut the stamp from the white card stock then replaced the white stamp with a die-cut patterned stamp (without adhering). I stamped the cancellation mark, removed the patterned die-cut, replaced the white and adhered the patterned stamp over. (Clear as mud?) By doing it this way, the postage stamp is raised but the cancellation mark is continuous across the layers.

Coloring was done with Copic markers over X-Press It Blending Card.

Friendship (The Cat’s Pajama’s Sneak Peek and Give-away)

Hi everyone! I’m back today featuring a new stamp set coming to The Cat’s Pajamas Tuesday, April 26th.

Today I’ve used Friendship. Such cute images and fab sentiments!

Michele Boyer - The Cat's Pajamas

I stamped onto watercolor card stock then used Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers to color the image. To add a bit of dimension, I raised the panel on X-Press It foam tape after rounding the corners.

JiFFy Time!

After taking a little break, it’s time once again to get together with my JiFFy friends.  🙂  Just as a quick reminder, one of us sends paper to all, then another chooses the image.  We never know what we’re getting until we’ve got it in hand.  Sometimes the combo is a bit tricky, but other times, like today, it’s a nice blend.

It was Amy’s turn to choose the image and she selected Admit One from The Cat’s Pajamas, so graciously sent to us by Alma.  (Thank you, Alma! We truly appreciate your generosity!)  Carole was paper-picker, choosing “Flower Basket” from Pebbles Fresh Goods collection.  LOVE this line!

I decided to take this opportunity to get ahead of the game and make my husband’s anniversary card.  I used the tiny numbers in the stamp set to create our anniversary date (on the ticket).  🙂

To add some bulk, I added foam boosters between the layers of the heart and beneath the center of the ticket.

Be sure to stop by the other JiFFy girls’ blogs to see what they’ve created using this same stamp set, paper and ticket die.  I always look forward to seeing for myself!  🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I’ll be back soon!

Stamps:  The Cat’s Pajamas “Admit One”   Ink:  Memento Tuxedo Black and Ladybug, VersaMagic Wheat    Paper:  The Paper Cut Wild Cherry and Whip Cream, Pebbles Fresh Goods “Flower Basket”    Accessories:  The Cat’s Pajamas “Big Ticket” die, My Favorite Things “Layered Heart,” “Mix Match Banners” and “Simply Scallops” Die-namics, buttons, jute string, Jody’s foam boosters.  Finished size 5″ x 5″.

It’s JiFFy Time!

This is one challenge I always look forward to…getting together with my JiFFy friends.   Just as a refresher, one of us chooses patterned paper and sends to all.  Once the paper is on its way, another of us chooses an image.  We then have to each do something with the combo.  Just for fun!  🙂

This month was my turn to choose the paper.  I love tiny flower prints and gingham so when I spotted Simple Stories’ “Simple Pleasures” from their 100 Days of Summer Collection, I knew that was what I wanted to use.  It was Jody’s turn to select the image and she chose TCP‘s adorable bunny in Take Off

Just Putt-Putting Along

I so very much love this set.  It’s just so cute!

Even though this is probably a boy bunny (I think he lo0ks like a boy), I decided to give him a floral plane.  I think he’s “man” enough to handle it (and I just wanted to paper-piece it.)   🙂

I stamped the wing a second time, colored it, cut it out and applied a thin stripe of glue just along the top edge.  Beneath the bottom of the wing, I placed one of Jody’s foam boosters.

MFT’s Pretty Posies Die-namics created a quick matching flower.

Be sure to check out what the other JiFFy girls did with this same image and paper!  I’m always eager to see for myself!  🙂

Go Forth & Eat Cake

I love The Cat’s Pajamas bunny.  Have you seen the sneak peeks of their upcoming release?  I have a little wish list developing.  (The grass and hot air balloon are both at the top of my list.)

Last month I needed a card for my nephew’s birthday.  Teen boys are the hardest to design for, I think.  Even harder than men.  And I don’t have many stamps that I feel fit a teen boy.  Hopefully my nephew wasn’t too embarassed by the bunny.

Go Forth & Eat Cake

On the front of my card I used Forget About the Cake, colored with markers and pencils.   Along the bottom I placed a string of stars die-cut using My Favorite Things’ Star Border Die-namics.

For a bit of dimension and added “pizazz” (hee, hee), I added several Amuse Creative Candy stars.

CREATIVE TIP:  If you don’t have a specific color of crystal you need for your design, choose any light colored crystal and color it with a Copic.  My light pink stars quickly and easily became orange using YR04 .

On the inside, I used a second TCP bunny and sentiment from their Birthday Bunny set and another strip of the star border.

I’ll be back on Thursday with a little something and then on Friday, previews begin of My Favorite Things’ July release!  (I can’t BELIEVE how fast time is going by!  Sheesh.)

Thanks so much for visiting!  Have a great day!

Stamps:  The Cat’s Pajamas “Forget About the Cake” and “Birthday Bunny”   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black  Paper:  Prism Intense Teal, Papertrey Ink Vintage Cream, My Mind’s Eye Lime Twist “Out of the Blue”  (6×6)   Accessories: Copic markers (W1, W3, BG10, BG05, R20, R22, R24, E50, YR31, YR23, YR04, BG0000, Y0000), Prismacolor pencils, Amuse Creative Candy stars, My Favorite Things Star Border Die-namics.  Finished size 4 3/4″ x 4  3/4″.

Happy Birthday…Penguin Style

**Please press Ctrl-F5 to “hard” refresh if you’d like to make sure you are seeing my latest post.  (Blog issues.)  Thanks!**

Hi everyone.  🙂  Last week’s TCP Tuesday challenge (with The Cat’s Pajamas) is a sketch.  Talk about waiting until the 11th hour.  I’m barely getting this in before the challenge changes tomorrow.  I found the info HERE on Leigh’s blog.  I needed to make a birthday card anyway, and I had already chosen the stamp set so the sketch made things just a bit easier for me.  (Actually a lot easier.)

Happy Birthday

This card is going to someone who lives in the southwest so I chose to use TCP’s Hola Tequila.  I haven’t finished the inside yet, but there will be a margarita and a cactus in there.   🙂   The birthday sentiment is from TCP’s Birthday Bunny.

I kept the colors nice and bright (and festive) and used the three strips from the sketch to create a Mexican blanket of sorts.  I’ve never seen one in these colors but that’s ok, right?

I’ll be back soon with MFT’s Wednesday Stamp Club sketch as well as Day 1 of February previews with Kraftin Kimmie.  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Stamps:  The Cat’s Pajamas “Hola Tequila” and “Birthday Bunny”   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black  Paper:  Stampin’ Up Old Olive, Papertrey Ink Vintage Cream and Black, My Mind’s Eye Quite Contrary Mary Mary “Sweetie Pie” and “Best of Friends”   Accessories: Copic markers, various twill,  Michaels mini brads, black jute string, Spellbinders Nestabilities, dimensional boosters.  Finished size 4 3/4″ x 4  3/4″.

Keeping it Simple

Hi everyone.  🙂

I’ve been busy with design team work but wanted to take a few minutes to play with another of my new (to me) TCP sets.  I kept this very simple.  But simple is good once in a while, right?   (Or always.)

****REMOVED FOR PUBLICATION****

I used minimal markers, only adding bits of an outline on the body and shading in the face, ears, arms and legs.

I added just a little shading on the scarf to help define the folds and layers.  And the sheep panel is popped up on Jody’s foam boosters.

I’m off to place an American Girl order while there’s free shipping.  (Anything to make that stuff more affordable.)  🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

StampsThe Cat’s Pajamas “Sheepish”   Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black  Paper:  Stampin’ Up Bravo Burgundy, Papertrey Ink white, Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses (6×6 paper pad)  Accessories: Copic markers (C00, C1, R20, B0000), Michaels mini brads, dimensional boosters.  Finished size 5″ x 5″.
