Smile! (It’s a Give-away)

Hi everyone!  I hope you’re enjoying the last little bits of 2012!  (I am!)  🙂

Does anyone remember a while back (August) when I mentioned I’d lost my favorite sentiment from this set, Picture Perfect from My Favorite Things?  I bought a new/complete set as I  adore it so.  I never had a chance to open the new set…which is a good thing because four months later, I found the missing sentiment on the other side of my stamp room stuck to a pack of cardstock.  So my carelessness can now be your gain.  I’m giving away this set with some other miscellaneous goodies.  More about that below.  🙂

I think this is the sweetest concept, the little girl holding the frame.  I just love it.

After coloring with Copics (E00, E11, E31, R20, Y21, E33, E35, E40, E41, BG13, W00, W1), I pieced the dress and added a bit of shadow with gray markers.  The sentiment strip was created using Fishtail Flags and Fishtail Flags Layers Die-namics.

On the inside, I stamped my long lost favorite sentiment.  ♥

As a little thank you for visiting my blog, I’m giving away a Picture Perfect stamp set along with Small Scallop Border and Fishtail Banner Die-namics, one yard each of ruffled pink organdy and Blu Raspberry grosgrain, and a 6×6 pad of My Mind’s Eye “Lucky in Love” (as used on my card above).

Please leave a comment on this post.  I’ll select a winner on Friday, January 4th around noon, EST.  (For ease in shipping, give-away available to US residents only.)

Thank you!  ♥  ♥  ♥

p.s.  Come back tomorrow  for another (sponsored) give-away!  Shhhh!

The Copic T-shirt Winner is…

SHARI GREEN!

🙂   Congratulations, Shari!!   🙂

“Copic Coloring Guide, Level 3: People” Give-away!

Good morning and welcome to a very special blog hop!  I’m certain you’ve heard about the release of the new Copic Coloring Guide, Level 3: People authored by Colleen Schaan and Marianne Walker.  Would you like to win a copy?  Why, of COURSE, you would!   🙂

To help kick off the celebration, each designer on the hop is giving away a copy of the book.  Please comment on this post for your chance to win mine! Commenting will close at 8 a.m. EST, Friday, October 26th.  Winners will be announced on the individual designer’s blog.

From the how and why behind picking colors and coloring skin to the tips and techniques for coloring hair to the helpful hints on how to create realistic looking clothing and fabric, this 64-page book presents information in an easy-to-follow format for all skill levels.

The book includes a CD containing all of the hand-drawn images used in the tutorial section of the book, along with the assembly instructions for all of the projects as well as a number of blank reference charts.

Here’s a little peek at my card using Alice in Wonderland from Kraftin Kimmie Stamps.

Be sure to visit each and every designer listed below to better your chances of winning!  GOOD LUCK!  🙂

“Copic Coloring Guide Level 3: People” is now available at many stamping and scrapbooking stores. Visit your local store today and ask about availability.  It is also sold through the Annie’s catalog, accessible online at Annie’s.

Happy Birthday to My Katie and Copic Coloring Guide Winner

Before I announce the winner of the Level 2 Copic Coloring Guide, I want to share a card I made for my daughter’s birthday.  (It’s today.  She’s 10.  So big.  So fast.)  If you want to scroll down to see if you’ve won, that’s ok.  (I would.)  🙂

When the first Wryn images were released by Tiddly Inks, I *had* to have them all. And I bought them all.  Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to use any of them.  I promised myself I would not buy more until I used the ones I have.   So one down, three to go and then I shop again! 🙂

This image is Grow a Little Love. I *adore* her.   The sentiment is from Wryn’s Extra Sentiments, but I manipulated it just a bit, changing “Wishing you a HOPPY birthday” to “Wishing you a HAPPY birthday” (since there was no frog with this image).

I used my Copics for coloring, and the tiny hearts on the string were die-cut using My Favorite Things’ Notched Tag Die-namics.   Along the bottom, I placed a strip of Small Scallop Border Die-namics.

As for the Copic Coloring Guide, Level 2: Nature…  The randomly chosen winner  is… MICHELE DIETRICH!  Congrats, Michele!  🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Have a great day!

Digi Stamps:  Tiddly Inks “Grow a Little Love” and “Wryn’s Extra Sentiments”   Paper:  Papertrey Ink Kraft, X-Press It Blending Card, My Mind’s Eye Miss Caroline “Dolled Up” (6×6)   Accessories:  Copic markers (E00, E11, R20, Y21, YR23, E35, R81, R83, R85, BG53, BG57, YG91, YG93, BG70),  MFT Notched Tag and Small Scallop Border Die-namics, cream jute.  Finished size 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.

Copic Coloring Guide, Level 2 “Favorites” and Carry All Winner!

Good morning and welcome to a very special blog hop!  I’m excited to be part of the new Copic Coloring Guide, Level 2: Nature!

Authors Colleen Schaan and Marianne Walker have partnered up again with the team at Annie’s Attic and some very talented artists and designers to bring you a quality publication packed full of techniques, theory, tutorials and inspiration.  The 64-page book is the next step in the Coloring Guide series, offering information and educational material for crafters of all skill levels.

From the introductory suggestions for creating a Copic journal and tips for working with digital images, to explanations of advanced blending techniques and detailed tutorials for coloring specific objects, the book presents useful information in an easy-to-follow format.

A bonus CD comes with the book that contains all of the hand-drawn images used in the tutorial section of the book, along with the assembly instructions for all of the projects.

Each participating designer is hopping today to give you a peak at their favorite project from the book – and a chance to WIN your own autographed copy!

You’re Enchanting

My project in the book features Kraftin Kimmie‘s Clarabelle along with Fairy Sentiments.

The techniques I’ve used here include shading with gray and leaving white as highlights, which you can find out more about in the book.  🙂   (As a side note, I also dyed the ribbon using an R59 Copic.)

To help kick off the celebration of the new book, each designer on the hop is giving away an autographed copy, signed not only by Colleen and Marianne, but by the individual designer too! Please comment on this post for your chance to win your copy of mine! Commenting will be closed at 10 a.m. EST, Sunday, March 11th.  Winner will be chosen and info posted here on my blog on Sunday afternoon.

Following is a list of participating designers:

Exciting News… and an Exciting Give-away!

Today I have a sweet little image I couldn’t wait to color as well as some really exciting news!  I am SO excited to be posting today.  🙂  Eeeeeee!  🙂

This adorable Lil Primrose Bloom image is by Kaiser Craft.  I couldn’t resist her.  🙂

The flower is a separate image within the “mini clear” set.  I stamped it next to the girl and drew in the flower stem with a Copic Multiliner.  After coloring with Copics, I added dots of clear glaze over the flower centers.

I think mostly everyone knows that I’ve been doing some things here and there for Copic.  I seriously love my markers and to be asked to submit or assist, anything really, has been such an honor.  But to receive an invitation to be an “official” part of their design team… *deep breath* …has been unbelievable.  It’s a good thing Marianne asked me in an email because if she had called, she likely would have thought I’d hung up on her…or passed out. I wouldn’t have been able to say a thing.  I was stunned.   Still am.

After reading the email at LEAST ten times (seriously), I was able to type a three or four sentence response to Marianne saying, “Yes.  YES.  YES!!”  (Those were not the three sentences. *snort*)  I’m SO thrilled!  And, I am not squealing alone!  I have a new squealing buddy, Cindy Lawrence.   I’m very much looking forward to getting to know her, and the other ladies better.

This is SUCH a great group of ladies, so sweet, so talented, so helpful, so funny.  And I am SO lucky.   🙂

In celebration of adding Cindy and I to the team, Copic is giving away TWO of the new Copic All Marker Carry Cases…one here on my blog, one on Cindy’s blog.

Isn’t that generous? Wow!  (The markers are NOT included.  And due to distribution rights, the give-away is only open to residents of the US and Canada.)

To be eligible, please leave a comment on this post telling me what tutorials you would like to see…a particular background technique?  Coloring something specific such as hair and skin?  Furr?  That type of thing.  I will close the commenting on Sunday, March 4th, 9 p.m. and select and announce one random winner here on my blog on Monday, March 5th at 9 a.m. EST.

Be sure to stop by Cindy’s blog for a second chance to win a Copic All Marker Carry Case! She has a different question for you though, so pay attention!  🙂

You’ll also want to swing by the rest of the team blogs as they are each giving away rolls of Copic’s new 1/4″ foam tape and regular double-sided tape.  Here are the links:

Thank you SO much for stopping by!  Good luck, and have a great day! 🙂

A Pencil and a Dream (and TWO Ways to Win!)

Hi everyone!  It’s been a while since I’ve had a give-away!  I have compiled two bundles of some of my favorite stamping goodies.  Two bundles means two chances to win.

One person will be chosen from my blog readers who comment on this post.  Another will be chosen at random from those who “like” my new “Paper Cuts” Facebook page, found HERE.  (You do not need to comment on the FB page to qualify for the give-away.)  If you’re a FB user and want to continue seeing my posts, you will need to “like” my Paper Cuts page.  No more crafty posts will appear on my personal page (saving my non-stamping friends and family from the bombardment of likely-boring-to-them posts.  And I just feel better keeping the two separate.)  🙂

My first (blog) package includes this adorable à la modes set, Talk Nerdy to Me, from My Favorite Things

Everyone, collectively tilt your heads to the left so you can read the sentiment. lol.

Also in this prize package is the File Tab Die-namics used on my card above, a 6×6 Lost & Found2 Rosy paper pad, and two of my favorite Kraftin Kimmie stamps — Angie and Drucilla.

Again, to win the above package, simply leave a comment on this post.

For my SECOND give-away, simply “like” my Paper Cuts FB page HERE for your chance to win the package below.

My FB page giveaway includes more of my favorite images and products:  a Simple Stories Happy Day 6×6 paper pad, My Favorite Things Feeling Froggy Pure Innocence stamp set and Woodgrain Fence Die-namics, and Kraftin Kimmie Stamps’ Charlotte and The Krafty Stamper

I will choose both winners the evening of Saturday, October 22.  The blog winner will be posted here on my blog, and the FB winner will be posted on my FB page.

Just to clarify, I WILL still be posting here.  But my FB posts will go to my Paper Cuts page, not my personal page.  That’s the only change.

Big thanks to my fellow MFT’r Joanne for her guidance and for coming up with the idea to set up a dedicated page.  🙂

As always, thank you SO much for visiting.  I appreciate it very much!  🙂

Stamps:  My Favorite Things “Talk Nerdy to Me” (à la modes)  Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black  Paper: Papertrey Ink Enchanted Evening, X-Press It Blending Card, Crate Paper Neighborhood (6×6)  Accessories: Copic markers (E000, E00, E11, E15, E18, E41, YR21, YR23, YR24, E57, B93, B95, YG91, YG93, YG95, R11, R12, W1, BG70), MFT File Tab Die-namics, Spare Parts (scrap) trim, Tim Holtz mini-staples.  Finished size 5″ x 5″.

Just for Fun, WCMD and Blog Candy

Happy Saturday!  Lots to share so let’s get started!

Time for this month’s Just for Fun challenge with Carole!   Once Carole’s “mystery paper” was enroute, I chose Bikababeabella from  Stamping Bella for our challenge.  (The paper is “Mischa” from the Hoodie Line by Luxe…love it!)

Also my fellow stamper, Lynda Benden, who is a member of Our Creative Corner, asked me to be her guest this month.  (How fun!  Thanks so much, Lynda!)  Her challenge for me was to include bling of any kind on a card.  Yay…that’s easy!  🙂

Dare to be Different

      DTBD400

I used my Copic markers to color the image then I added some bling. The entire image is colored with some color of Spica glitter pen.

DCU300I used a scalloped square Nestability die to frame the image.  I cut two black scalloped squares, cut them apart and then pieced them back together, overlapping one of the scallops on the top and bottom to create a rectangle of the size I needed.  (I got this great tip from Susan Liles.  She’s one smart cookie.  I never would have thought to do that!)

I added Heidi Swapp bling in each scallop, a tiny Hero Arts adhesive crystal on the flower on the bike and the sentiment is embossed in black (for even more shine).

Don’t forget to check out Carole‘s project!  It’s bound to be fabulous and, as always, I can’t wait to see it too!
