hey there (stamping bella)

Hi everyone! It’s another Bellarific Friday! This week the Stamping Bella team is using vintage images, otherwise known as “anything not from the current release.” (You can see the latest release HERE.) I chose to use Tiny Townie Garden Girl Carnation.

Stamping Bella Tiny Townie Garden Girl Carnation

When I first started with this card, I didn’t really know where I was going to end up. I first stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card then colored with Copic markers. Then I got the idea to have the girl peeking out from a die-cut circle.  So I carefully cut around the top flower and the flower stem using precision scissors, leaving the rest of the image flat on the paper.

I die-cut the circle from the patterned paper and carefully lifted the flower and stem to the top. I then decided there was too much white space inside the circle (lol) so I sponged a bit of light blue ink over Simon Says Stamp’s Folk Dance Stencil. Upon further inspection, I decided I wanted to tie a bit of hemp around the stem but then it looked a bit odd so I removed it and decided to stitch around the perimeter of the circle and THEN tie around the stem. It was a bit of a cluster of thoughts/trial and error (a.k.a. “no planning”) but I think it turned out ok.  🙂

NEXT WEEK’S CHALLENGE

Use an image from the same category as the January  Stamp of the Month (Gnome Bouquet, 25% off through 1/31), which means use an image from the Gnomes category.  If you’d like, email your card to [email protected] by next Thursday to be featured on the SB blog. By doing so, you’ll also be entered to win some Bella Bucks! All challenge details can be found HERE.

Thanks so much for visiting today!
