Hi everyone! Welcome to Day 2 of My Favorite Things Release Rewind! Be sure to check out the MFT blog HERE for direct links to more samples using this month’s releases.
I can’t get enough of Lisa Johnson’s Sweet Roses. I love the fact that there are corresponding dies (Roses and Leaves Die-namics) to die-cut the flowers and leaves, and I especially love the font and sentiments.
For today’s post I created two Mother’s Day cards (and I’m feeling really good about having created these this far in advance). 🙂
My first card uses Sweet Roses, Roses and Leaves Die-namics, Blueprints 2 and the smallest of Open Simply Scallops Trio.
I stamped three flowers/sets of leaves onto X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copics to match the Grape Jelly cardstock. I then stamped two more sets onto Blending Card and die-cut using Roses and Leaves Die-namics. The die-cut sets are raised on foam boosters. Next I created a “flower box” using elements from Blueprints 2.
Here’s a close-up of the dimension.
The tag was cut using the smallest of Traditional Tags STAX and the XOXO is from Notched Tag Sentiments.
On the inside, I stamped and colored another flower and added my Mother’s Day greeting.
For my second card, I used Cotton Candy, Sour Apple and Smooth White cardstock along with Lisa’s Sweet Roses and Roses and Leaves Die-namics with a greater focus on the elements in Blueprints 2. Sketch is loosely based on one of the sample sketches found on the Blueprints 2 pdf found here. (Click on small thumbnail beneath Blueprints die photo.)
All flower and leaves were die-cut and popped up on foam tape. I added pieces of foam tape beneath the pink oval frame as well. In the center of each flower I added a black enamel accent.
After adhering the two frame pieces, I tied the tag, securing beneath with foam tape.
On the inside, I stamped and colored more flowers (adding stems with a 0.3 black Copic Multi-liner) and stamped a sentiment from Clearly Sentimental about Mothers.
