Here at My Favorite Things, we have so many fun things planned for 2013. And to kick the year off with a bang, we’re adding a couple of amazingly talented ladies to our team! My card for today uses Martinis on Me from the à la modes line. She’s so appropriate for a New Years card, don’t you think? 🙂
After coloring with Copics, I added some sparkle to her dress and shoes using a clear Spica glitter pen. The rhinestone border is from Michaels. My image panel was not quite square so I simply nipped out one rhinestone from the top and bottom for a perfect fit.
The sentiment, from Clearly Sentimental about New Beginnings, was stamped onto a Sentiment Strip, then layered upon a second red die-cut strip. To create the frayed end, I simply die-cut a second red strip (one end only) and cut into the flag end with sharp scissors. I popped the sentiment strip up on foam tape, removing the few rhinestones from beneath the left edge so the strip would lie flat.
On the inside, I stamped the remainder of the sentiment and then the partial image in Wild Cherry ink.
