It Takes Someone Special

Hello.  🙂  I’m posting this a lot later than I had intended.  It’s turned out to be a busy day.

I generally have a difficult time making cards for men but Father’s Day is by far the hardest.  My dad has been gone seven years (this month) and it can still be challenging listening to folks on the radio sharing special dad memories…or seeing all those Father’s Day cards in the stores with all of their sentimental thoughts.   I’m glad my children like to make their own Father’s Day cards.  At least that part is easy.  Regardless, I can’t let the occasion pass without making a card for my father-in-law.  He’s a very special man and I think the world of him.

I decided to deviate from my go-to color (brown) and instead used blue.  (I really need to put the brown away.  I’ve been using it WAY too much lately.)

Unity‘s Nothing But Blue Skies kit made this card so easy to finish, inside and out.  I used markers to color in a few of the circles and punched two different patterned papers (in two different sizes) to fill in some of the areas.

USPINOn the inside I used a second sentiment from the same set.

It isn’t super-fancy, but I like how it turned out.  I think my father-in-law will too.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope you had a nice Father’s Day, saw or talked to your dad or at least were able to take a moment to remember special times.  I’ll be back soon!
