Hello. 🙂 Today is the last day of school. I know many children have been out for a while, but we seem to start late and end late around here.
I have two cards to share today, one for my daughter’s teacher and one for my son’s.
You’re the Best
For my daughter’s teacher I used one of my all-time favorite girls (from the Pure Innocence line available from My Favorite Things). The You Make the Grade image was stamped onto an MFT cream Perfect Paper Panel, then cut out and adhered to the grid paper. I used two other Pure Innocence sets (Lollipop Girl and Mud Buddies) to piece together the sentiment on the board. I drew in the little socks and used colored pencils for the floor.
Along the left edge of the text paper, I used MFT’s Jumbo Scallop Die-namics border die-cut.
On the inside I used Apple for You (which appears to be currently out of stock) and one of that set’s accompanying sentiments.
The little girl holding the apple was stamped using Ranger’s Antique Linen Distress Ink.
It looks like I sponged the edges of the grid paper but I didn’t. The paper was already colored that way.
Thank You For All That You Do
The card for my son’s teacher was tough. My son is at an age where “cutesy” is no longer appropriate, and the fact that he has a male teacher made it all the more difficult. So I decided to just keep it fairly simple (and I used all the same patterned papers since they were already out).
MFT’s Thanks a Bunch was the perfect set to use. I was able to say “Thank you” on the front and then choose the remainder of the sentiment from the many options in the set.
